The Carriage House of Cady Cottage - Break your fast in the Cady Cottage English scullery. Very private!

As soon as we got there, she met us out front and gave us a tour. Her carriage house is like a little European cottage! As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're no longer in Missouri. The carriage house is decorated beautifully (don't believe me, visit her website!) She already had cheesecake waiting in the fridge for us. Christine had pamphlets out and recommendations ready for us before we even began to ask her questions. She remembered everything we wanted for breakfast for the next day and it was so delicious. I've never been a big breakfast person, but I sure am now! She was such a delight to stay with and I know I'll be staying there in the future. I also agree with the review by Missy L. from above: I have to give her a review because she absolutely deserves the credit (and so much more), but I hate giving away the beautiful hidden gem of Cady's Carriage House because I want to have the pleasure of staying there again whenever I need. Definitely book way in advance, she get's full pretty quick, but she'll put you on a wait list in case someone cancels. If I wasn't clear before, this is the best place to stay in Hermann!

The cottage-they've redone a detached garage (or carriage house) so it's like stepping into a 1700's English cottage. We were there on two cold, rainy days, and the place wrapped us in warmth and comfort-and romance! It's furnished with quilts, antiques and art from Hermann, and the bathroom has a jacuzzi for 2. Words don't do it justice, see the website! The hosts-you get their full attention, because you're their only guests. Jack and Chris are friendly and gracious, but know when to give you your space. Breakfast is pretty much on your schedule-Chris will ask you when you want her to have it ready in the morning. Sometime during the day she'll slip in and restock towels and put dessert in the fridge, which leads me to... The food-OMG, you won't need lunch after eating a Cady breakfast! The first morning was a baked apple in homemade fruit liqueur, eggs Benedict, potato pancake, and bacon; the next morning, poached pears, whole wheat pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausage. Most of it is locally produced. Absolutely delicious, and served in their dining room that's also furnished in Colonial-period decor. And wherever you get dinner, skip dessert, because it's better back at the cottage-we had chocolate torte and a peanut butter pie that was so good I almost wanted to roll in it! A word of warning, if you will-they have wi-fi if you bring a laptop, and a CD player stocked with classical and American Standards, but no TV-they expect that you're there to enjoy each other. And in these surroundings, that's not a problem. A charming place, will definitely return!

The wine tasting was 6 sweets and semi sweets. Very good time was had. Food was served here and I ordered chicken shredded nachos which was delicious and meaty. My friends ordered flat breads which in my opinion both tasted like cheese bread and lacked flavoring. Seating was available, live band played to groove too. Souvenir shop and wine slushes. No complaints, I really enjoyed it here. Kudus to friendly staff and a clean property.

You can choose between a tasting of all dry wines or all sweet wines, which makes it easy to pick what you prefer. There's also a restaurant on-site, The Bistro, where I ordered the pepperoni flatbread pizza, which was really good. I also tried the frozen blueberry and lemon margarita, and it was absolutely delicious! The friendliest of the staff was amazing. To make the experience even better, there was a live band playing, which created such a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. Great wine, good food, a delicious frozen margarita, and live music made for a wonderful outing. I definitely enjoyed my visit and would love to come back!

In my opinion, it's hands down the best winery in the region, and what makes it special goes well beyond the wine. The experience starts with a tasting, and Stone Hill does it right. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable, the tastings are top notch, and the wines speak for themselves. Their sparkling wines, Norton, and Chardonel are among my absolute favorites. The grounds are beautiful, with incredible photo opportunities around every corner. And if you're lucky enough to visit during an event, the live music is some of the best you'll find in Hermann. But one of my favorite experiences at Stone Hill takes you beneath the winery. The guided tours of the historic cellars are truly something special. There's so much history in those underground passages, and the guides are experts at bringing it all to life. It's an experience unlike anything else in the area. The nearby museum is another must-see and adds even more appreciation for the history behind this remarkable place. And then there's dinner. A visit to Stone Hill simply isn't complete without a meal at Vintage 1847 Restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is phenomenal, and the steak is easily my favorite in Hermann. It's the perfect way to end a day of exploring. In fact, I've pretty much figured out my perfect Hermann itinerary. Start with a wine tasting, spend some time exploring the museum, take a guided tour through those incredible cellars, and finish the evening with an unforgettable dinner at Vintage 1847. Throw in some live music and a few great photos along the way, and it doesn't get much better than that. Hermann is full of wonderful experiences, and you could easily spend days discovering everything the town has to offer. But if there's one place I would tell absolutely everyone to visit, it's Stone Hill Winery. There are plenty of reasons to visit Hermann. Stone Hill is one of the biggest reasons to keep coming back.

Jill was over my wine tasting, she was friendly and knowledgeable of the wines I chose. I purchased a gold Moscato. This was not in the wine tasting but you can't go wrong with a Moscato in my opinion. During Harvest season you can stomp the grapes with your feet. I hate I missed that but I will definitely return next yr to partake in that excursion. Plenty of picturesque moments. I absolutely enjoyed this winery and look forward to returning.

You can literally see the McKittrick trailhead from her properties, so this is a perfect spot for riders and hikers. It's only two miles from the charming town of Hermann, MO, and situated right by a grocery store to boot. 10 out of 10 location. The room we stayed in had two small, comfortable beds, clean water, a nice shower and French press coffee... epic! All that is worth five stars, but can I shout out Joey for a minute? What a wonderful person. A storm rolled in right as we did, and even though she was at a graduation that evening she offered to drive us into Hermann for dinner that evening. She followed that up with the best breakfast that I've had not only on my Katy Trail adventures, but generally the best I've had in a while. We walked into a beautiful old mercantile space with jazz music playing and the table set with a fruit salad from her organic garden along with roasted vegetables picked that weekend. From there, we chowed down on roasted potatoes, homemade Hollandaise sauce, farm fresh eggs, French press coffee, fresh biscuits with homemade jam, OJ and fresh butter. Just everything a person could ask for, and one of the true highlights of what the Katy Trail is all about. I look forward to staying here again and again,
