Christmas time magic - This is a great place to bring your family to pick out a tree and enjoy some outdoor winter activities. They have tons of complimentary services, like picture with Santa, hot cocoa, and hay rides. You ride out to a patch of trees and cut one down that you like with a saw, and they will wrap it up for you to take home. There were many great selections of nicely shaped and plush trees. There are vendors on site including a food truck, winery, funnel cakes and kettle corn. If you are looking for big full trees look somewhere else. Small trees and none pre cut except the ones they have on stakes out in the field. They also mislabeled the one tree we found and cut down ( something that had been happening all day according to one of the workers) but still wouldn't give it to us. My 7 year old was so disappointed! Said we could cut a different tree but that was the only one we had found that was even half way presentable. We left without a tree and will look for a different Christmas tree farm next year. read more

This place is not closed!! The Christmas tree farm part is open to the public starting the weekend before Thanksgiving until Christmas Eve.

This place has been a yearly tradition for our family since my son was one. It is the perfect start to the Christmas season with Santa, trees, tractor rides, wreath-making, and all kinds of goodies to sample. While it is a trip, it is absolutely worth it year after year! read more

We have bought our live Christmas trees here for the past 8 years. We've always been happy with the quality and service. The day we went as a family each year to cut the tree has always been special to us. We eat lunch together in Hermann at a favorite restaurant, then stop at the Swiss Meat Company to buy steaks, bratwurst and sausage. This year the woman who waited on us at Pea Ridge was very rude and inconsiderate. She seemed to resent that we were there so close to Christmas. We felt so unwelcome and put off by her belligerence that we left without getting a tree. We have property with some pines on it, so we cut one of those when we got home. We will not be going back to Pea Ridge next year. If she doesn't want to sell trees that close to Christmas, that's fine. All that needs to be done is to close the business after the weekend prior to Christmas. If they are going to be open though, I don't think it's too much to ask for the sales person to be friendly and welcoming. A special day was ruined by her attitude. read more

A lot of the trees in the fields are precut trees stuck on a spike in a hole. We just pulled ours out of the ground. There are also some that are fresh. But you have to look at the ground around the trunk. If it looks like it's in a hole it is precut. Everything else is nice for families. Wagon ride, animals, Santa and lots of Christmas crafts. read more

My family and I have been going to Pea Ridge Christmas Tree Farm for twenty years. We loved the place. But as they say, everything changes. This year we went and the selection was bad. But what was worse, they had pre-cut the Christmas trees and placed them back in the ground on a spike. My son was so disappointed because he didn't get to cut the tree down. Instead he just pulled it off the spike! We drive over an hour to get to Pea Ridge and have the tree cutting experience. We may just go to a lot near home next year. read more

This place is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Drove an hour and a half to try it out. When you first drive up the setting is beautiful. Wonderful old building and barns, beautiful decorations, nice wagons to take you to the hillsides filled with trees. So far all this sounds wonderful and is the reason I did give it two stars. But this is where things aren't what they appear. Those hillsides filled with trees are either closed off (where the live trees are) or 95% of the trees available for "cutting" are actually pre-cut, 3 week old trees, shipped in from the northwest. They are then drilled into the trunk and placed on spikes hidden in the ground making it look like they are growing there. And so you know I'm telling the truth I confirmed it with 2 different employees. When a tree is removed there is a stack of precut trees laying at the rear of the two small fields where an employee quickly and discreetly rushes to replace it. The actual labeled precut trees by the parking lots are the same exact trees being put on spikes in the field. The only trees in the fields that can be cut are the white pines and about 20 spruces all growing in a cluster near the back. Why they actually give you saws when all you have to do is pull the tree off the submerged spike is laughable. So if you want the charade of "cutting" you own tree off of nothing more than a gloried (albeit beautiful) tree lot then make the drive here. But I was not about to pay $10/ft for a tree that I didn't cut and is already weeks old. Yes, my wife and I settled for one of those few spruces growing naturally, only because we had wasted a full day to travel here and did not have time to travel elsewhere. I do not know if this is their standard practice or one to cover the couple years of drought that had plagued our state but either way trying to pass this off as cutting your own tree is inexcusable. We won't be going back and advise you not to waste your time. read more

I have been going to this family owned Christmas tree farm for 37 years. It is as magical now with my children as it was when I was a kid. In addition to their fields full of pine trees they have the freshest, most beautiful frasier firs (pre-cut) you have ever seen. This year my four year old nephew wants to celebrate his birthday with his cousins there...it doesn't get much better than that! read more

There's nothing like a drive in the country to reset your stress level this time of the year. Pea Ridge Forest is set in a beautiful valley off StHwy 94 in southwest Warren County. They have free hot chocolate inside a great gift store with a large fireplace for warming up after choosing your tree. Live, decorated wreaths, live greenery for making your own. There's also a snack bar area located in a nearby building. Plenty of parking, hayrides, and on the first three weekends they're open you can visit with Santa. The past few years we have purchased pre-cut trees because we're not fans of long needle pines. This year I noticed quite a few live, balled trees for purchase that you can plant when Christmas is over. We always seem to deal with the same gentleman when we go and he's very helpful. So if your looking for a nice day trip full of spectacular scenery, a possible hayride, maybe a visit with Santa and some holiday themed shopping Pea Ridge is worth the drive. read more

I have been coming with my family to Pea Ridge for over 40 years and always enjoy the experience. From the hot chocolate. tastings and kettle corn, to the hayride and cutting down the tree. We have a vaulted ceiling and they always have enough big trees. We especially enjoyed the years we got to go to the "big tree" lots. We did have some trouble last year with a spruce tree we cut down and needle drop, however, the white pine we had this year was great (branches aren't as strong, but such is the breed). The needles were attached and soft until the day we took it down (yesterday 1/2/17). We cut it down December 3rd and quit watering it December 25th... We will travel to Pea Ridge as long as we cut down our own trees! read more
