Tonight was horrible! Ordered alot of food and the tempura was soggy when it should be crispy plus the vegetables were hard. The packing of the food is horrible things fell out, maybe invest in better containers like Chinese places not styrofoam. MISSING ITEMS and missing ordered food! Not a great eating experience. Food quality shows that the operator is more concerned with the cost of his food than the quality of what he serves. Our family chose to go to Sogo on a Thursday night for their BOGO 1/2 off sushi special. We ordered a shrimp tempura roll and one of the specialty rolls that also had shrimp tempura in it. In order to get the BOGO sushi special, you had to order a soup or drink. Doesn't seem like a great deal to me since the cost of the drink or soup basically pays for the other half of the roll. I asked the server if we could order a kids hibachi chicken instead and she was able to do that. The sushi came out quickly and tasted great. Their hibachi was also good, not the best I have had but tasty. For the total price, I do not feel the need to go back any time soon. However the service, food, and location were all good. read more

We've been here multiple times, and each time we've had good service and delicious food. The place is pretty clean, there is a large dining room with lots of tables and booths! They just added some new menu items, including the crab rangoons! They're really good, but I believe it's over $5 for four rangoons, which is sort of pricey in my opinion. The sweet Thai chilli sauce that came with it was really good and spicy! Our waitress was nice and helpful, the hostess was welcoming and promptly sat us upon arrival with no problems. We ordered two sushi rolls, the San Fran and the Dynamite roll, both were amazing. Super fresh tasting and delicious. We also ordered edamame which was just okay, but that's a pretty bland food in general. We shared a hibachi chicken entree and salad with ginger dressing. Ignored me 1000000% (told her three times) when I told her it was in the roll. I still would've paid for my food but the disrespect is the problem. Their online menu states Tuesday and Thursday's are half off sushi and when I called to order the waitress said it was only for dine in. This was not specified anywhere on their menu. Ordered take out last night and ordered 5 meals. they had smushed 5 boxes into one bag. The heat and the weight from the boxes caused them to all collapse and the food spilled into the bag. We called back and they immediately replaced the order but we went to pick it up and they only had 4 of the 5 meals and each meal was missing noodles or rice. The manager walked over to the poor host working hard to fix everything and helped him fix the problem. The host and manager were very sweet and apologetic about the situation so great business management on their part. However, the 4 boxes were still smushed into one bag and the 5th in its own but they did double box the bottom boxes. So, I grew up going to the Sogo in Concord. I was excited when this location opened up near my parents' residence. I came now a few years later to see that the booths and the chairs needed to be placed, or at least cleaned because stains are visible during the daylight. The food was decent. The sushi was not the best I have had, but imitation crab was used. The tuna was also very soft and kind of soggy. The wait staff was very short with us and the hostess was sitting down next to the hostess stand on her phone, blatantly seen to anyone walking in the door. Every time and I mean every time I order for take out my order is wrong I live 30 mins away and this is the closest sushi restaurant, last time I told myself due to the times my orders have been wrong I wasn't going again and stupidly I ordered today 12/31/2021 and again my order was wrong!!!! No sauces in my order that I was going to pay extra for. It's so frustrating also I ordered a dragon roll asked for an explanation of it and when I got the roll it was wrong I ordered a Kani salad and that was the nastiest Kani salad I ever ate i of course did not finish it and threw it along with the sushi out I paid 37 dollars plus cents for NOTHING the nastiest sushi ever and service was awful too. Sogo was a hidden gem on the trip through the south of the state. I was really hoping to find something that was not either Bojangles or Subway. And low an behold, in the new Locust Town Market off of 74, was this great little Japanese chain. It is definitely chain style Japanese, yet it is more than well done when it comes to taste and price. While there on business lunch, you cannot beat a full plate of hibachi for under $5. Matched with standard Miso, it was a wonderful slow-fast food lunch. And if you are in the area, make sure you hit them up for 1/2 price sushi on Thursday nights! read more

Call ahead or order take out when you arrive. There is decent seating. The carrots are amazing, probably super unhealthy but worth whatever calorie content! It's decent Japanese chain food, and it's better than the Sogo in Concord. One thing that suprised me is that Kids eat free Hibachi chicken on Tuesday. This makes a big difference for a larger family, and it's got a decent atmosphere for this very purpose. It's good quality and value. read more
