I am a deep-tissue massage person - I do not like a massage that doesn't work out the knots and make a change worthy of the time and money invested in getting a massage. I actually do not get the point of most other types of massages. This place has, twice in a row, with two separate masseuses, offered great deep-tissue massages. From the street, the first time you approach, you wonder what you're headed into. It's a store-front location without decent lighting, a bit dingy-looking, without customary store signage, and advising twice on the door that it's a "legitimate" massage parlor, which it is. Sometimes signage like that freaks me out because I start thinking they .."doth protest too much", but it's all on the up and up and the place is clean inside. I go there with my girlfriend for couples' massages and we've both thoroughly enjoyed them each time.

I ended up having to go to urgent care for one of the cupping marks. I'm used to soreness and redness, but what ended up happening was punctured blistering. I had multiple blisters on a cup mark that were oozing and Urgent care told me what I had was not normal and actually a result of misuse of the cups as it caused a first to second degree burn ): While I understand accidents happen, this wasn't acceptable and very negligent. My massage experiences here prior to that were wonderful, but I would recommend being weary of the cupping services here.

This is a great plaza for a massage spot but please note, Google Maps address will not bring you here. Once I made my appointment, Taiji texted me instructions on where it was located in the plaza which was super straightforward. I was able to make my appointment the day of and communicate with them via text as well. My masseuse was Alice and she was very skilled! She was firm and used strong pressure in a rhythmic and relaxing way. She focused on target areas with deep knots and muscle tension and asked me a few times throughout how I was doing. I left feeling rejuvenated, lighter, and super relaxed! This location itself is clean and the couple's room was more spacious than other places I've been to. They recommend bringing cash to avoid tax. Tipping also felt like an obligation rather than a choice, so make sure you bring enough to cover that as well. I would come back!

It's a shame that I have to leave a bad review because Carlos was a fantastic massage therapist…read more He is truly a healer. The reason I am leaving not a favorable review is for a couple of reasons: I made appt. with Carlos. I showed up 5 minutes before my appointment, the lights were on in the spa, but no one was there. I called the number of the spa and the owner said let me call Carlos. She said, he was delayed and wouldn't be able to make the appt. I knew this couldn't be true because Carlos is very responsible. Then, the owner said, she had a family emergency which is understandable, but there was no sign on the window saying she had to leave due to a family emergency. Then, she she changed her excuse a third time. I have been going to spas for 30 years and I never had no one showed up. I understand if there was a true emergency, life happens, but this was not the case. She did leave a message to apologize and said she would give me a substantial discount on my next massage. When I called her back, she said she would give me 15% off which I did not think was fair. She said, she would think about offering me a larger discount, but never called me back. I have been a loyal customer and always tipped generously. This is not good business and hence I will never go back there again. Also, be very careful with the woman owner because she tried to charge me for a 1 1/2 hour massage and I only had a 1 hour massage which Carlos had to confirm with her. One more thing, my husband bought me a gift certificate and I lost the gift certificate. I asked if her I could still use it, she said no because she has no record of the gift certificates that were purchased.

I am not in that market. I called ahead and was told to come right in. Was shown to a room, but asked to pay for my massage upfront (now know this is a tell) and the woman tried to walk away with my card. I followed her back to the front where she did mention the tip was not included but rang me up for $65 (let's assume "tax" as the posted price is $60). She then showed me to a different room farther back. She left the room, as in any massage setting. I left my boxers on as I always do on any massage table, both as a hedge against signaling any funny business, but also for my own comfort. Especially important here, as there was no blanket or towel on the bed; just a clean fitted sheet. I will say, the place is very clean! Face down on the table, I waited. The masseuse came in unannounced and insisted that I remove my boxers before finally removing them herself when I said no thank you twice. She also asked "Just massage?" a couple minutes in which i replied YES, firmly. She did respect that i said just a massage, and did not touch me anywhere that made me uncomfortable or try to "upsell" again. Note: they do offer waxing services, but i didn't get the vibe she was trying to sell a Brazilian. She spent the full hour fumbling through a massage of sorts, commenting on every tattoo on my body, asking me questions about my haircare routine and ethnic heritage -- about 55 minutes in, wrapped up abruptly. I offered a $20 bill as tip, but asked for $5 change (a generous 25% despite the bizarre experience) and she refused and said 1 hour is a mandatory $20. Take the $ -- i got out relatively unscathed. WHOLLY, a bizarre experience. I will return to my tried and true spots to get knots worked out go-forward.
