Troutman Cafe is all about the good... and friendly too.

We chose a table near a window, much to our liking. It was surprisingly not too busy for a late Sunday morning. They have a sizable breakfast menu. Our food came quick and we were served together; you'd be surprised how many places don't understand this basic concept. I appreciate that they know how to time orders to come out simultaneously. Breakfast was breakfast, though their home fries are pretty good. I'll have to order them for myself next time. One thing that threw me off was our waitress asking if we'd like to leave a tip, and what amount. I understand the way they currently utilize Square POS may require the amount entry upon payment, but it was just awkward and an unpleasant interaction. There is a way that you can set it up to have a separate tipping screen upon signature collection. Despite me having more to say about that than anything else, our overall experience was a good one. We will have to come back another time.

Food is good but a little on the bland side. On this particular morning I got a ham and cheese omelette with hash browns and a side biscuit with gravy. The has browns were very crispy. The down side was biscuit was cold along with the gravy. My wife got a Belgian waffle with bacon, eggs and grits. The waffle came out overcooked and had to be remade. The grits weren't overly hot either. The service was good and staff were very friendly. The interior was very clean and nice size unlike waffle house with very limited seating. Overall decent, but would explore other restaurants if available. Contrary to the sign, they are no longer 24 hours. They are open every day from 6am to 10 pm.

Most everyone was pleasant, except for one extremely grumpy cashier (but he must have just had a bad day). The food was great. We all had the Value Baskets. The fries were fantastic, hot and super crispy. Both the Buffalo and the Original chicken tenders were tasty and crispy, but the Buffalo just had a faint spice to it, not really Buffalo-ey at all. I had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich and yes, that was wonderfully spicy. I was so happy with that. My son and I swapped bites so I tried his ButterBurger with Cheese. So tender and tasty. Definitely going to order that next time. We forgot about the concretes and cheese curds, adding that to our "want to try list." Both kids had milkshakes to drink, which they loved. My son got me a chocolate soft serve waffle cone. It was HUGE! The ice cream and cone were great and such a treat. My husband is so jealous he missed out so we are going to try and come back soon.

We had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and finally ordered delivery from Farmhouse…read morevia Uber Eats last week. We ordered a gyro plate, a hamburger patty steak plate, and an extra side of fried zucchini. Gyro plate: No tzatziki sauce, which is supposed to come with it. Only about 4 small slices of gyro meat. Chicken portion was good, veggies were good, but only 1 olive. The fried zucchini side was actually very good. Hamburger steak plate: No salad dressing for the salad, so we had to use our own. No gravy for the hamburger steak. We paid the upcharge for a loaded baked potato and it came with no butter, no cheese, no bacon, no green onions, no seasoning - nothing loaded about it. The major issue: My fiancee cannot eat red/raw meat due to digestive issues. We ordered the burger patty well-done and the receipt even says well-done - I have a photo of it. It arrived almost completely raw/red on the inside. This is a major food safety and health concern. I have photos of the meat. We filed a complaint with Uber Eats for the missing items and the raw patty. My fiancee also called the restaurant directly just to inform a manager - we did NOT ask for a refund or new food. The manager said because we ordered through Uber Eats it wasn't their responsibility, including the undercooked meat, and was very rude and disrespectful and raised her voice. My fiancee did not raise her voice or get rude. I spent over 20 years in the industry working BOH as a chef and in management. I know whether food is going to a table or out for delivery via Uber Eats/DoorDash, it's still the restaurant's responsibility to make sure it's correct and safe to eat. My fiancee and I are both disabled so we rely on delivery a lot. Small mistakes happen and aren't a big deal, but this many missing items plus raw meat ordered well-done is by far the worst experience we've had. We will not order from here again.
