Great ice cream and a friendly staff. We know the owners personally and they're doing a great job with this place! Super inviting!

We did a motorcycle ride out to Stony Point with the idea that they wouldn't be too busy after 1PM, but they were busy and for good reason. The food is excellent and simple. We both had double cheeseburgers along with an order of fries. I have gone to breakfast there as well, and it's a good breakfast. Their prices are so reasonable! Dining inside is limited, there are tables outside. Restrooms are accessed from the outside. The Dairy Bar is a great little restaurant that provides locals and others with great food and service all at a very reasonable price!

I ordered two hot dogs with chili, mustard, and slaw and a side of tater tots. A reminder to all that The Dairy Bar is cash only. The tots were good and crispy. The hot dogs were good too. The slaw was really vinegary. The smell of vinegar wafted up from the dog. I mean, I like vinegar, but it was a lot. The interior of The Dairy Bar is a mix booths and tables of assorted sizes. There is seating outside as well for nice North Carolina days. All-in-all, a nice little road trip from Winston-Salem. Reading the other reviews, it looks like I need to come back for breakfast. Fine! Twist my arm. ;)

We had been wanting to visit for a while as other mason jar ice cream joints are usually at the beach or in large cities. Mason's has a bright and clean small interior with maybe four tables. There was no outdoor seating. The chairs they had were metal chairs that are not the friendliest for plus size people as they can be narrow and tight on the sides, but these were not as bad as most. Also, there was no physical menu that showed pictures of each of the mason jar sundaes, just the descriptions. They did have television screens showing pictures of each sundae, but you had to wait for each picture to pop up throughout the slideshow. The pricing for the mason jar sundaes is $10 each and the price does include the mason jar to take home. Compared to the prices at similar shops in larger cities and beaches, those tend to run $15 or more. We got the Razzle Dazzle, Cookie Monster, a scoop of Oreo ice cream & a scoop of coconut fudge ice cream. The scoops of ice cream were both flavorful, creamy & full of mix-ins. The Razzle Dazzle is raspberry chocolate ice cream with a slice of cheesecake on top. Cheesecake is one of our favorite desserts and this slice was absolutely amazing! The Cookie Monster was topped with two cookies that were just okay. The cookies were cakey and chewy. Both mason jar sundaes came in Styrofoam bowls so it would not drip on the table. We were not able to finish both sundaes even being shared between multiple people! They also give you plastic bags to take the jars home in.

First of all this DQ is located next to a 5-star car wash. We have a prepaid car wash account, so…read morewe often go to DQ drive-thru, get ice cream and then go to the car wash and eat the ice cream as we ride through the wash. still reading? It's going to get good now. So we hardly ever get food, 99% of the time it's ice cream. We love the ice cream - it's the best around, especially in statesville. Not a lot of competition. I love the butterfinger blizzard. I recently downloaded the app & it is very good. You get rewards & deals, and you can preorder. We love using apps for all fast foods because it makes it easy on the customer and the restaurant becuase there is no ordering AT the window, no paying, just pick up! My first time using the app, I did not realize it defaults to "pick up inside" so when I got to the window, the lady told me that you can't come through the drive-thru if you didn't select it. She then said "the other managers get mean about it, but I'll take care of you". THAT is customer service. I made sure to ensure the order was drive-thru pickup since then. Today was surreal. I felt like I was in a fever dream or maybe Ashton Kutcher was going to come out and say "surprise - you've been Punk'd". Here is my story..... I pulled into the gas station parking lot where the DQ is also. I finished putting in my order - all set! Five orders of ice cream. Easy enough. I pulled up to the window and the girl said "you have to come in to get this". And I said "I put in drive thru" and she said "ok drive forward" When I got to the window, a lady opened the window and said "you JUST put that order in, we need time to receive it". I said "that's fine. We realize you will have to make it". She then said "ok so you need to drive around again or maybe you can park over there and we can bring it to you". I looked around and I said "ma'am it's 830 in the evening, there is nobody in line behind me. Why do I need to drive around? I can sit here until someone comes and if they have to wait then I can pull away but there is LITERALLY no one behind me waiting". She said "ok fine" and I watched her roll her eyes as she turned and walked off. Shes in the photo I took in the window. A minute later a very young girl came up and said "you are going to need to drive around and come back" and I said " so let me get this straight. There is nobody behind me. There's nobody waiting in line and you want me to drive around this gas station and come back to this spot before you can give me my food."? And she said "exactly". So I put my car in drive drove quickly around the building, everyone in my car laughing their butt off, and came back to the window in what I would guess was 25 seconds later and waved at the people inside, who were all gathering to look out the window at us. The original lady, the young girl, a new lady to the scene who looked like she might be the manager on duty becuase she was NOT laughing with us, and a very tall young man who was standing in the back making eye contact as if to say "I am NOT part of this crazy drive-around-again crew". They handed us the 5 ice creams. The "manager" lady was staring me down and I said, "we'll be back tomorrow to do some laps around the building". Still not smiling. And we drove off. So here's what I think is happening you've got some stupid policy some stupid process that requires them to be on a clock. The moment somebody drives up to your window and they are reprimanded or they get in trouble if someone sits at that window too long. So to keep their reports "good", they require me, the customer to help by driving around and around and around the building so that you don't get bad metrics at the window. If that is not why these people had me drive around the building and come back within 30 seconds then I cant explain why they were asking me to do that because literally there was NO people in line. NO people behind me. Here's the bad part people. This place is nice. The food is always good. The ice cream is TOP NOTCH. But people need to remember that customers are the reason you're in business. Please don't make me go to Chick-fil-A or McDonald's for ice cream. I want to make this work. But you gotta respect the customers. I'll still go back. And if you stay good and get better, I'll make this a 4-5 star review with updates!!
