Alaina made my sub at the deli. I drove 3 1/2 hrs from WV for this sub and I simply can't believe this woman is allowed to make subs. I basically had to walk her through the process multiple times. And even though I got a whole sub split between my wife and I, I got charged for 2 half subs, which is roughly $4 more. I love Publix. I've been going to various ones my whole life. This particular Publix does not disappoint. It's large and clean with a great selection of products and cheerful employees. The set-up is not as fancy as some of their other stores, but they have everything I've been shopping for. Their famous fried chicken is just as good, as well as their subs. They also do $5 sushi on Wednesdays. It's also a great place to find local North Carolina made products. Clean, bright and well stocked. This Publix has all the things that were still on my shopping list after saving a bunch of money at the nearby ALDI. The store had everything else I needed. The produce section was very well maintained with neatly stacked vegetables and fruits, plus the bags dispensers had everything. The young man who helped me at the deli was polite and efficient. Great Bakery and Deli Publix in my opinion, has one of the best bakerys going.. We've had a couple of cakes and cupcakes from my local Publix in Cornelius and when we go to visit the Grandson's in Marietta, somehow we generally end up in the Bakery. This Publix has only been open for about 3 weeks and they appear to have their act together. Well organized and stocked and very clean and well lit. Yesterday was my Birthday and last Thursday, everyone went together and I ended up with one of their Birthday Cakes. It was delicious and a work of art in of itself. For those in our company who are not familiar with Publix, it was a good introduction. Today I went over a lunch time and checked out their deli. Not as many customized Sandwiches as Harris Teeter, their local main competitor but none the less, good selection of premade sandwiches. I opted for a container of Buffalo Chicken Tenders, which was a total of 3 but at over 9 ox or a bit over 1/2 lbs and at $4.69 a good bargin. Took it back to the office and threw in into the Microwave and it made for a delicious lunch. Will go back later this week and explore more of the Deli read more

Over 3 years and this location is still holding its own! Publix is definitely the BEST grocery store in Statesville! Yes, they may be a little pricey compared to other grocery stores BUT I feel the selection, cleanliness and customer service more than make up for the cost difference. Publix has a great bakery, deli, produce, meat...heck, EVERY section of this store is great! The fresh flowers and plants here are better than any other grocery store. Their bakery has plenty of wonderful options. My favorites are the Tres Leches Cake and the cannolis. The deli is always hopping! I love the wings and rotisserie chickens. One of my favorite flavors is Mojo! I always grab a gallon of the Publix brand Diet Tea. Typically, I purchase Ginger dressing and Kimchi from the produce section, along with the prepared fruit and veggie salads. On Wednesdays, sushi is only $5 but why limit happiness to one day a week? Fresh meats are awesome here! I always grab a container of Grillo's Fresh Spicy Pickles, a couple pints of Talenti gelato then it's on to the adult bevy aisle...Publix offers plenty of wine and beer, especially craft beer! Publix staff are always courteous and freindly throughout the store but definitely at checkout, they always offer to assist you with loading your purchase. Generally, I decline but it's nice to know that it's an option if needed. I've never left this Publix feeling disappointed! I don't think they've ever been out of any of my needed items. Honestly, I usually leave with more than I went in for but I don't feel the slightest bit guilty because I know I will enjoy each and every item! I went to the deli to order some popcorn chicken for my kids. The person at the counter said I needed to call 30-minutes in advance to order it because they dont keep any ready. I asked how long it would take to make it and I was told it would take 4-minutes to fry some up. So I asked if I could just get that and they said yes, but it would take 10-15 minutes. Sure. Whatever. I came back precisely 15-minutes later, hoping the chicken would be done and a little cooled off a bit but then. Instead I was told it would be another 5-minutes. Except it wasn't another 5-minutes but another 11-minutes. So all in all, it took them 26-minutes total to make something they told me would only take 4-minutes to make. Mind you, the place was fairly empty. There was no rush of other people ordering things. There were four to five employees in the deli just doing busy work including the deli manager. Let me start by saying, "I LOVE PUBLIX SUBS." After moving out of state, I haven't really found a good sub that I adore. Publix subs are the closest thing to my #1 beloved Wegman's subs (a grocery chain in the Northeast who is slowly making its way down south). So while visiting my sister and her family, I discovered they were a couple miles from a Publix and asked if they have ever had a Publix sub... which they replied "no." Oh yeah! I took down everyone's order and went to get some subs for lunch! Valerie was my sub attendant at Publix. She was the sweetest lady. I had an order of 4 whole subs. We went with a turkey, jerk turkey, ultimate and American. I joked with Valerie that my sister and brother-in-law have never had a Publix sub so she should make it "extra special" so they'll get hooked on them (just like me)! Well, I think she took it literally... she definitely took extra special care to make the subs perfect. Unfortunately, perfection took about 35 minutes to create. (Sorry Valerie!) I really did enjoy chit chatting and all, but it did take quite a long time for the subs to be made. She was so sweet and wrote all our names on the bags and even gave me a side of pickles so we could try them (P.S. they were delicious). It just would have been a tad bit better if it didn't take so long. I'm not sure if they slice all the meat for the subs to order what? That was a bit time consuming. Anyways, despite the wait, it was well worth it because the subs were AMAZING! Just what I was hoping for and expected! The sub pricing seems reasonable too! There are 2 levels of subs, Publix brand and Boar's Head. "Most" Publix whole subs were around $6.99 with a rotating special sub for around $5.99. (Check their ad for the weekly sub on sale). I'm sure the Boar's Head brand is even better but I honestly always get the Publix brand and they never disappoint! (My personal fav is the Ultimate sub which includes roast beef, turkey and ham.) My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I had saved 1/2 the sub to enjoy later... unfortunately, my nieces ate it. (Bummer- was so looking forward to it. Haha) Oh, and guess what? There's a supermarket there besides just the subs. Hahaha. Grabbed Lays chips (on sale 2/$5). I find there non sale prices higher than say, Walmart's grocery items. But they usually have some good sales and I love checking out their clearance racks! So yay on subs! (Seriously, you have to try them if you haven't yet!) and yay for wonderful employees! read more

I'm only giving four stars because sometimes the prices can be ridiculous and there's not always an option for getting something at a lower price. However they have very much earned every other star. Despite that the produce can be a bit higher, they also carry items that are more difficult to find and greater quantities of them. The bakery is fantastic here. Selections are vast and everything very fresh. We got a fancy cake on our last visit and I expected it to be normal but was incredibly delicious (the boys ate it all in one night). Seafood selection is also good, though they do tend to run their stock low (last three visits for seafood I had to get half of what I needed as they ran out of it). read more

We visited this Publix last night while in town for the Hot Air Balloon Festival. We wanted some grab and go food for dinner and something to have for breakfast this morning. We also wanted to take some local beer or wine back to our AirBNB. This store is amazing! We had all sorts of already made sandwiches and salads to choose from. We also could have had them make us a sandwich. They offer Boar's Head meats. We bought the Cuban sandwich that was already made and it was delicious!! You can tell that they bake their own bread. Every employee we saw initiated conversation with us and asked if they could help us in any way. We were blown away by how friendly everyone was! They have a huge wine selection and a nice selection of beers. We were able to find something awesome. We had such a great experience! They are building a Publix in our neighborhood back home and now we cannot wait for them to open!! read more

We were excited to try this this week in Statesville. We liked how bright and clean the store was and that the staff was very diverse and friendly... BUT, out of 5 products we bought, three were substandard. The hummus we bought, which was made in Asheville, was moldy by the time we opened it a few days after purchase. The Publix brand diapers were subpar, smaller than the other store brands like Kroger or Aldi and the little paper fastener came off two of the first five we used! Shopping here is nice although a little bit on the expensive side. The deli always has delicious things going on. Love their chicken and their subs, who doesn't? The Bakery usually has great cakes that are always extremely moist and melt-in-your-mouth, however when we ordered cupcakes for my daughter 2nd birthday party they were not the colors we wanted and I was a little bit upset over that but I do understand mistakes happen. How they are handled is a different story. The assistant manager was a little on the rude side but did end up giving me half of my money back for the cupcakes that were not the color they were supposed to be. Customer service lady was on her phone and kind of ignored us for a little bit which was a bit aggravaiting to say the least. The produce always looks pretty good here, but they don't seem to carry fresh mint....I should ask about that. I like the $10 off a $50 gas card deal when you buy $50 worth of groceries. I wish they had more fresh deli items like potato salad etc, but it's a pretty nice store. The check out clerks are always nice and you can always get help reaching items in the aisles. One thing to watch is the dates on dairy items when I was there today 5/5 there were eggs with April sell by dates. read more
