Nice open spacious atmosphere. Good food at a fair price. Definitely recommend this place.

Very good food. Pretty terrible service. Several items came out cold and late...or not at all. And then....they come out after we ate and asked us to pay for more items that they forgot to ring up. read more

Food very good, steak seasoned perfectly and cooked perfectly medium rare. Plantains fried and delicious. I will be back. read more

The food was soooo good. Everything we had was amazing. We were tired and ordered an order for pick up. The food was ready extremely quickly. When we walked in the place was super cute, perfect for a date night. Looking forward to trying more of the menu next time we're in town! read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Churrasco, Yellow Rice, Sweet Plantains - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

Everything we ordered was flavorful, savory and the portions were big. Probably should have done one appetizer and one entree for the two of us . . but so be it. We had the 36-hr Roast Pork (OMG) and the Pabellon Criollo (awesome). The tostones were my least favorite flavor-wise but it's the first time I tried them so I don't know a good tostone from a bad tostone. Fantastic outside covered pavilion made this a C-19 friendly evening. Come here for the food and the family friendly atmosphere. It is spectacular. read more

Went here while on vacation in Orlando. Yum! The Churrasco was tender and very flavorful. It was my favorite. The black beans were great and I added a little salsa left over from the empanadas. The Papa Criolla had large salt grains on the outside and tasted roasted. They were good, but not the star of the meal. The red beans had potatoes in them. The plantains were cooked perfectly. My son had the shrimp and liked it. My daughter was opposed to Latin food, but hit the Cobb salad. It was fresh and huge! The chicken added was very moist. They only had ranch dressing which was the only down side to the salad. We were very impressed. My husband who got the empanadas wishes we could go back to try others because his were tasty. Would definitely make a point to go here again if in the area. read more

We were in the mood of having some Cuban foods and decided to try out Sofrito Latin Cafe. (Try to arrive earlier cause there's limited parking and during rush hour, you will have to try your luck.) When we arrived, we had to order first, then sit wherever we like, either inside or outside. The staff there were friendly and helpful. I didn't get his name, but the person who took our order was very helpful and introduced us to some very authentic and delicious cuban dishes. We thank him for that because it was indeed delicious! To my suprise, being my first time here, everything was delicious, we literally licked the plate, except the empanada with Nutella, it was okay in my opinion. Overall, we went home with a big belly and satisfied. read more

We found this restaurant nearby our hotel. Everything was great. Large open dining space. Cubano, beans, empanadas plantains, were all delicious and came in generous portions. Great place to go for a casual lunch. We will keep on a short list of restaurants to revisit on our next trip. read more

Wish they had this is Boston. Anyway, keeping it short and sweet. Came here at 9:30pm and we ordered their churrasco dish. Their homemade hot sauce was on point as well as how the food was presented. For the price, I thought it was very reasonable and I like the concept of ordering your food when you walk in. The steak itself was very chewy and I wondered if it was cuz it it was toward the end of the night and just got the "bad" pieces or if it was cuz I ordered it medium rare. Either way, if I was from here, I would most likely come back to try the other dishes!! read more

This is a solid 3.5 review. The service was good. The selection was good. The extra hot salsa was excellent and had a strong kick. The food was fresh. The ordering is a bit complicated and needless. If you have to have someone specifically standing at the door to explain your ordering system, it's not worth it. We don't have any issues with Spanish, as my wife is fluent and I can wing it most of the time, but several workers didn't seem to speak English very well and it seemed to be awkward for some of the tourists who were in the restaurant with us. This is the heart of tourist town and Spanish isn't what a lot of them speak. The food took a bit, but it was mostly tasty. We got a few different items and most of them were pretty good. I thought (as the non-Cuban in the family, but a massive fan/critic of Cubano sandwiches) the Cubano was a lot lacking in flavor. The Argentinian empanadas were the highlight for me. They were great! My wife is a tough critic of Latin places and she kind of shrugged through her bites. Some she loved, some she didn't love. We (with no language issues) had great service and thought it was a nice enough place. 3.5 stars. read more

Decent breakfast menu selection. Plenty of indoor and outdoor (covered) seating. Great fried yucca fries! Their regular coffee was weak so we asked for a shot of espresso (no charge). Disappointed with their Arepa de Perico; specifically, the arepa seem a little under cooked. However, our other 2 entrees were good- the Cuban Waffle & Dos Huevos Desayuno. This was our second visit. read more

We asked some locals for a recommendation for Latin food. Sofrito was highly recommended. We stopped there for dinner. The place looks like a standard diner and we were not sure what to think. We ordered Camarones Al Ajillo and the Roast Pork dinner with black beans and rice. Service: It is a walk in and place your order at the counter style of restaurant. After you place your order, you find a table and sit. They bring the food out after its prepared. Food: Camarones were excellent. They were not over or under cooked. The shrimp were tasty and the perfect texture. The pork was a little salty, but we don't use much salt in our food. That withstanding, the pork was absolutely delicious. THe rice was prepared correctly (it sticks together as you het a forkful.) The plantains were not quite to my specification. The best plantains I had were at a Cuban place in Orlando and they were plantain chips (like potato chips). They had a nice flavor, but the texture is what I am not a fan of. But, again I am not a connoseur of plantains. Back to the service: Once we sat down at the table, the wait staff took great care to see that the food was served hot, and made sure allwas good. They were very attentive. I would come back to Sofrito next time I am in Orlando. read more

OMG DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE! Especially if you are gluten free. Imagine a world where you can consume GF empanadas, bread, sandwiches, and more. This is a reality at Sofrito Latin Cafe! I dang near passed out in food heaven when I bit into the first empanada I've been able to eat in what feels like forever! The arepas were delectable, and we all enjoyed the pandebono (naturally gluten free cheesy bread). Those non gluten free folks in my group still claimed that this meal was the best meal they've had in a long time and could not wait to return. Restaurant is causal, you order at a counter and they give you a number and bring over the food. Great for before heading to a park because we were able to eat quickly. Service was impeccable. Very kind employees that were more than accommodating and patient. This place is a true gem! I'm from Boston and I'm begging you, OPEN A SOFRITO LATIN CAFE IN BOSTON! Please? Pretty please? read more

Sofrito is a true Latin Cafe--they feature regional dishes from across Latin America. The decor is open and rustic, and the staff is fantastic. It's counter service, so you order at the podium and they deliver it to you--but the food is of a sit-down restaurant caliber. I got the churrasco steak for my birthday lunch a few months ago. The portion was huge!! And the flavor was perfect. I got beans and rice as sides, and they accompanied it perfectly. My coworkers got the ropa vieja and the Cuban sandwich, and they were likewise impressed. I can't wait to return and try more of what they have to offer! read more

Authentic Cuban. I'm from South Florida and grew up eating Cuban food. This is some of the best outside of Miami.

The staff was so helpful! It was our first time there and they took the time to explain everything even though it was busy. We ordered and dined in, they brought us our food and drinks pretty quickly! I had something I'd never eaten before and it did not disappoint. My picky eating daughter ate all of her food as well! I loved that they dice the steak for the kids! The mango juice was delicious and even the piña colada was really good and didn't melt quickly! The lighting was comforting and the music was upbeat and fun! We even had 3 different desserts it was all very tastefully presented and tasted good! Picture of my dinner! read more

Pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed our visit to Sofrito Latin Cafe. My daughter's and I were in town, attending a graduation at UCF. We of course looked to Yelp, to help us find the best places to dine! We visited on a Thursday evening. I was a little bit turned off, at first, because you place your order at the counter and then take a number and seat yourself. I'm glad that I didn't leave, our dinner was wonderful! I ordered the garlic pressed chicken, with black beans, yellow rice and sweet plantains. My daughters ordered the steak dinner and chicken sandwich. We also ordered a pitcher of sangria. We took our number and seated ourselves, and patiently waited for our orders to arrive. The wait was not long at all. Everything arrived fresh, warm and delicious! The portions were very generous. My chicken was boneless, nicely seasoned and juicy, 2 large pieces. The rice, beans and plaintains were good, as well. My daughter's both enjoyed their meals, as well. The sangria was tasty too! The staff could not have been nicer, each staff member made several rounds to all tables, in order to ensure that everyone was enjoying their food. Our total bill was just a little more than $60, which included a $22 pitcher of sangria. The price point is definitely right!! If I lived in Orlando, I would definitely frequent this restaurant on a regular basis. read more

Extremely popular& busy spot! I'm on a business trip and it's close to my hotel. The menu looked delicious & the Yelp reviews were good. I ordered the churrasco steak with black beans, homemade fries and yellow rice. The steak was fine, the sides were cold. I asked the guy to just bring out an order of beans and I threw the rest away. So disappointed! Maybe the extensive sandwich and arepa menu would've been a better choice. An expensive lesson to learn. If you would like to read while you solo dine this is NOT the place. Super loud music that thumps through the whole restaurant. A shout out to the guy bussing the tables. The only person who was friendly! read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Expensive lunch that was mediocre at best. - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

2020 and 2021 have had me back and forth from ATL to Orlando. Every trip, first day, I go to Sofrito and get the Roast Pork (+ black beans, yellow rice and plantains). It is so good that I start thinking about it when I leave ATL. I am sure they do other things well, but I don't care - I love the roast pork. The best part? $10.75 gets me enough for 2 nights of hotel dinner. Don't change. I love you just the way you are. (except when I am late getting into town and you close at 8P). read more

This review reflects the 2nd visit, the 1st visit was phenomenal therefore a speedy second was in order. We were not as impressed the second time. I ordered their fried Snapper, nothing to brag about or critique, it was okay but not recommended. My wife had the Churrasco, she said it was a bit tough and a bit cold, she wanted me to try but I declined. The server upfront confused my order of two orders of croquettes, two croquettes were brought out instead of two orders of four croquettes, understandable as I'm getting confused myself writing the order, lol. They corrected the order but didn't have the 8 croquettes I wanted, the replacement was an empanada. The second batch of croquettes were cold in the inside, I didn't complain, I waited for them to get room temperature. The first visit was worthy of 5 stars but the second visit was disappointing. We'll be back but not likely in the near future. read more

I was looking for a casual restaurant with great Latin food, and was so happy to find Sofrito Latin Cafe. Any of the arepas are good. Any of the meats are good. Any of the sides are good. Basically, everything is good! I know the dishes are supposed to be tapas, but the portions are pretty big in my opinion. You order at the counter, take a number, sit anywhere. Someone brings out your food when ready. There are also games to play while waiting, I mean, games for kids to play while waiting. read more

Apparently I've never eaten before. Somehow I'm sustained by food into adult life, but my mind was telling me I've never eaten before as I tried my arepa pernil. I had no idea it would be so large, and it just neutralized all my taste buds and overwhelmed me. Yah. Also had a Venezuelan empanada. The patacon was just large and I had never had anything like it. Wonderful. Speaking of large, I gawked at the comically large Cuban sandwich at the next table over. My goodness! We had leftovers. My wife had shrimp. Her black beans were perfect flavor. She said the yucca was her best ever. We finished it off with tres leches and a spot-on cappuccino. Service was friendly. Ambiance was beautiful. Music was perfect. Wait was none. All good. Love this place! read more

The food here was good, great service and great drinks. I had the arepas which were great and the piña colada was delicious

My family and I ordered food here to go. This place is so yummy! I really enjoyed my arepa. I had the one with eggs and veggies and I added some cheese and a cilantro cream sauce to it. It was so yummy! I also tried some of their pastries. The standout for me was the spinach and cheese one. I would order that again. The portions here and very generous. Also, they had great customer service. Everything we ordered was in the bag and that gives them a high rating in my book as often times, items are forgotten when ordered online. They even have some one double check! I recommend this place if you are in the area! read more
