I really wanted to give it better reviews but I can't on this particular visit. We got there around 8pm, I guess they were so popular that day that they had ran out of most of the main dishes.. so ok.. we accommodated and ordered from what they said was available. First, we ordered the potato balls filled with ground beef. We waited about 30mins to get them, so OK. No big deal... to our surprise the balls were frozen on the inside.. Ok..that is not acceptable.. bad start.. we also ordered chicken soup. It was all brought, had about 1 inch (literally) of chicken and nothing else. We also have a churrasco ( I think), it was just ok. The only thing I really liked were the red beans (well seasoned) with white rice, which was everything I ate. Not sure if I will be back. I did complain to the manager and pointed out the problems and he kept asking me what do you want? For Pete's sakes, you manage this restaurant. Apologize for the problems and offer a solution. For example, discount, free drink, voucher to come back and try the potato balls.. something. The guy is not a manager, the servers had more management potential that him. read more

Delicious food! Everything had great flavor and seasoning. The papa rellenas were sooo good. Very affordable for a family wanting to fill their bellies after leaving Disney. Great ambiance! They have music playing but it's not super loud and annoying. They have games that you can play. We had fun playing apples to apples while we ate. Great customer service. From the cashier to the waiter they were all super nice and helpful. I enjoy supporting family businesses and am glad they make it easy to support them. We will be back for sure!! read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Roast Pork - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

Listen, every time we come to Disney from Jersey we look for a GOOD Latin food place.....Well we finally found it. This place is off the hook. There is someone's grandmother cooking in the kitchen. This is the best Spanish food I've eaten in Florida. From the appetizers to the entrees to the dessert all of it was 5 star....the Sangria was legit and they have draft beer too. WOW IS ALL I CAN SAY !!!!!!!!! If your in Orlando get there the people who run this place are really cool too. They also have a Mexican restaurant around the corner called " El Patron" will be going there next.. read more

Found this place while visiting Disney and tried because of Yelp reviews. It lives up to all the hype! Super friendly staff and amazing food. Everything is so flavorful! Definitely recommend! My favorites were the guava tequenos, churrasco and the fried yucca. read more

I was in town for a business conference. I always am on the lookout for local Latin restaurants when I travel and other reviews on Yelp helped me to decide on this place and boy was I happy! I was a little nervous because I was by myself and eating alone is always a little awkward. I way happy to see they had a small bar top that another single dinner was eating at. The menu was quite extensive and I really liked that they had dishes from different Latin countries. I ordered the Cachapa with roast pork and sweet plantains on the side. It was all very delicious and I ate every bite! The staff was very nice and made sure I didn't feel like a leper since I was alone. I will definitely be back my next time in Orlando! read more

My Husband and I were staying at the Legacy Resort and decided to Try Sofrito Café. I have to say we were very pleased with the Cuban /Puerto Rico sandwich , Empanadillas, and salads , the fresh taste of cilantro, onions, peppers , olive oil Etc, and Fruit Juice amazing. I would recommend Sofrito to anyone in Orlando who loves Spanish foods or is in the mood for something Different, fresh and yummy. I will give them five stars for fresh island style cooked Latin foods . We were also impressed with the Ambiance, soft music, dim lights and Cleanliness. The Menu is not your typical three four pager binder it is on a cute wooden Board with a handful of items to pick from. Love It!!! What I found to be warm was a Atlas Map they have on a wall about 3 feet high and four feet wide ,with Stickers on the side for customers to be able to mark there home destination. The staff is attentive pleasant and warm. My Experience when you go to a restaurant Café with over 30 foods to choose from I run , I like to keep things Simple and Fresh. We will see you guys in a few months. Thanks for your Hospitality and Great food. read more

One of the best Pork dishes and maduros!!! I love the daily specials and all reasonably priced!

Food had good taste but the empanadas were raw and the food cold. We returned the empanadas and got a replacement. The cood food seemed to be sitting on a counter until served. Not eager to return. read more

This place is totally amazing. I don't know why anybody would go to Olive Garden right across the street. Olive garden is packed in this place should be more packed than Olive Garden has ever been in its existence. I suggest that you get the shrimp mill. Or really anything else on the menu based on my experience here read more

I've driven by here a bunch of times and came in tonight for the first time. Great prices for plenty of food. The roast pork is fantastic!!

Wonderful food, great service and local feel! We were in Orlando for 3 days and ate there twice it was so delicious!

Omg!!! Just got to Orlando and went into Sofrito for a quick bite! Wow, super yummy. Pleasantly surprised!!!The Cachapa with meat, Pernil, yellow rice black beans and maduros con queso on top were killing. Definitely bringing the family here!!!! Definitely can't forget the passion fruit drink! Flavors were over the top!!!! read more

Excellent! Good food, good hospitality, clean. Food was super flavorful with vegetarian option that was awesome. Boiled yucca was the star! 12.50 per person with a shared dessert. Can't beat that!! read more

I don't venture down to the Lake Buena Vista area very often, but for those times I do it's nice to have the Sofrito Latin Cafe as a great, non-chain option. Before arriving, I thought Sofrito was a table service restaurant, but upon entering the restaurant they make it clear that you order at the counter. Not only is it spelled out on the wall, but a nice employee also welcomed us and explained the concept. I liked the cute menu boards and how the menu lists the originating country for each item. We aked the employee for an appetizer recommendation that's good for sharing and he suggested the guava and cheese mini tequenos. I ordered a media noche and my friend ordered a Cuban sandwich. The tequenos were good to try but an unnecessary addition to the meal considering the size of the sandwiches. I was full but the media noche was so good that I couldn't stop eating! My friend also enjoyed her Cuban. Next time I go back I'd like to try one of the plates. read more

Love everything about this Latin American restaurant. Best Venezuelan empanadas in town!

Love the Churrasco here. The cut of meat was cooked just the way I like it and it was so indescribably delicious. Perfect flavor, tenderness, and juiciness. The fries were also perfect level of thickness with crispiness on the outside. I also had the Venezualan Empanada which was accompanied by delicious sauce (wish I asked for more of it). This was the most divine meal I had during my 5 day trip to Florida. Service was top notch. I am so glad another business owner in the area recommended it. I am definitely adding it to my must-visit-again list if I am ever visiting this part of Florida again. read more

We used UberEats for the first time ans tried this place during our stay. It was the perfect comfort food after our long days trekking through the Disney Parks. The prices are very reasonable and the food very close to authentic latin American food. Their plantains are to die for. I recommend the arepas and pollo a la brasa, a Peruvian-styled rotisserie chicken. read more

Very delicious food and service. Their sweet plantain was one of the best that I've ever had. Check in and you will get $5 off your bill.

Excellent food, great prices, great spices, and a welcoming atmosphere! Wish we had this restaurant back home in Maryland!

A little cozy restaurant with great food. You walk up to the counter to order and are greeted by smiling faces. You are given a number and sit while your food is brought to you. The service is fast and the food is very flavorful. One of my new favorite Latin food restaurants. I will be back. read more

This place was AMAZING! We came here after searching on Yelp for Cuban food. We stumbled here and did not regret it. The only downfall was the waiter who clearly did not want to be there. Besides her, everything was perfect. I ordered a Papa Rellena that was amazing and cooked to perfection. Then for my meal I ordered succulent meat what was paited perfectly with spices and flavor. It was paired with an order for Sofrita Fries, Arroz Amarillo and Fried Yucca. I'm usually not fond of Yucca but this Yucca topped with Chimichurri was amazing. Overall, this place is amazing and surprisingly, not overly expensive compared to the food served here. read more

We had 2 meals & coconut flan for dessert. The food was probably closer to 4-5 stars, but the restaurant dropped to 3 stars on my way out. I went to the register because I wanted to get change to leave a tip in the gratuity jar. We stood there for about a minute as the young lady behind the counter ignored us. But as soon as a couple walked in to eat, she grabbed 2 menus, walked past us & politely greeted the couple. Bad customer service, lady! read more

Certainly my favorite fried yuca and sauce that I have had in 8 years. Yuca was not too dry, not burnt, it was crispy on the outside and tender inside. The sauce that came with it was perfect. a very well done dish! I considered giving it 4.0-4.5 stars because we ordered a chicken sandwich and fried yuca to go and it took 25 minutes despite only having 4 clients in the restaurant at the time. I stuck with 5 stars because sometimes it just takes TIME to make the meal outstanding. Delicious!!! read more

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. One thing I did notice is that the menu had a variety of food from different countries and it says it on the menu which country is each item, very unique. Also, the location is nice and the owners were so friendly! read more

I love this place. They do the arepas with queso de mano like my grandma use to do them. I have brought my friends and family over and over. Great service. Staff is very friendly. Colombian empanadas and patacón are to die for. Highly recommended. Oh, sangrias are a must! read more

They worked hard to get to 5 stars. I normally would have been disappointed after walking in and discovering that this was order over the counter, but the staff and food brought it back to 5 stars. The decor is wonderful (heck, hire a hostess and this is a nice sit down restaurant). Exposed brick, Edison lights, nice tables. The churrasco was wonderful. Perfectly cooked with a wonderful chimichurri sauce. The shrimp were also perfectly prepared. Entrees all come with three sides, which is a huge serving. Beans and rice were excellent - the red beans won over black beans, the white rice over yellow. Sweet plantains were excellent, especially with a bit of chimichurri sauce. We finished with a great cafe cubano. The staff was great, greeting us at the door, checking on us regularly and holding our coffee until the end of the meal. A warm, inviting place. read more
