I was staying in Orlando for a few days and stumbled upon this place. The food is amazing, affordable and the staff is friendly and attentive. If you're in the area I'd suggest you stop in. The food is amazing!!! read more

Came here after a day at the park . The food was good though we've had better empanadas elsewhere.. I ordered the vegetarian sofrito and it was decent . I didn't expect much cause it was just sautéed vegetables . The menu had some interesting things . I'm giving it 4 stars as I am sure when I try the nonvegeterian options it will be good . read more

Don't let strip mall setting fool you. Awesome find for a quick bite on the way back to the airport. We would go here regularly if we lived in the area. Pernil pork arepa and churrasco steak were both tasty and well done. Cuban sandwich was also fantastic. Staff regularly checked on the table to make sure we were happy. read more

My wife and I found this little restaurant 2 years ago when we were on vacation in Orlando and have been back every year that we come on vacation. The Empanadas and cachapas are great and the service is wonderful. This is a must for our vacation every year. read more

The first words out of my mouth when I took my first bite of pork were "holy expletive!" Visiting town for a conference and was lucky enough to get a hotel in proximity so it popped up in my Yelp. Ordered to my hotel and don't think it's right to keep how amazing this food is to myself. Can't wait to share with family on our next visit to Disney. Enjoy! read more

This was a pleasant surprise Staying at hotel across the street Gave it a try Heavenly food Fresh and well prepared read more

This is one of my favorite lunch spots in the area. I absolutely love everything I've tried here and appreciate that they remember my allergies and always greet me warmly. My regulars are the roast pork platter, rotisserie chicken or the Columbian burger. They also offer empanadas and hot teas along a diverse Latin American menu. read more

All I have to say is yum! We are from MA vacationing here in Orlando. My Fiancé and his family are all Latin so they know (and so do I) good Spanish food when they taste it! Everything was very tasty including dessert. The menu is limited but I've found that a limited menu usually means they perfect those items! I had the roast pork (pernil) con yuca y fritas. They have a lot of sandwiches mostly Cuban style, entrees, and a few apps plus dessert and after dinner coffee, espresso, cappuccinos ect. They also have board games available to play while you wait for your food... Great for the kiddos, gets them off the electronics! read more

The empanadas here made me hear color and see sound! I was so impressed with their quick service, variety on the menu, and overall enjoyable environment. God bless you Sofritos. read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Roasted chicken and veggie platter! - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

My family and I planned to go to another nearby restaurant only to find it was closed on Sunday. So instead, we decided to give Sofrito a try. So glad we did. It was so delicious! My husband got the cachapo which was incredible. I got the pabellon which was also super tasty. Be sure to end the meal with the Nutella empanadas. Staff was great and super friendly. A perfect meal. read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Pabellon- so good!! - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

What a find! I encountered a friendly, helpful staff on two visits during a recent trip to Florida, surpassed only by the incredible food. The shredded beef in the pabellon criollo could not have been better. Prices were reasonable; I spent $21 for each of my meals there and that included a $6 beer (OBP) with each meal. read more

Fabulous food! Tastes fresh and comes out piping hot. Delicious and flavorful sauces. I had the garlic chicken breast. It was very moist. The fried plantains we're perfectly cooked. We commented to a waitstaff how good the food was and he was very appreciative and said they just found out they were named one of Orlando's top 20 restaurants, no easy feat when you're in a touristy place with restaurants on every block. Well done to this little hidden gem. Do yourself and favor and stop in. It's casual dining. We initially found it on Yelp and were impressed by all of the great reviews. read more

We had to try Sofrito Latin Cafe after reading excellent Yelp reviews. The food and customer service was outstanding. My husband, son, and I all had different entrees and were amazed how good it was. Definitely will try again when we are in town. read more

The apps were made and kept in a warm case which made most of them hard and dry. The server was happy to replace them but I'd expect more cook to order. The churrasco was really good though. read more

Came here for lunch after a long work weekend and it was exactly what we needed. Loved the beef empanadas! And the pollo al la plancha was delicious. Also the atmosphere is super nice too! Would love to come back. read more

The food here is amazing! We ate shredded beef and Gouda Arepas and Plantains and loved them. The Arepas were so big we'll have enough for another meal. The only bad part is that it's far from home so we can't return regularly. read more

Looked this place up on yelp! This place is a go to the minute I walked in everyone was friendly and ready to help you. I loved how they constantly gave us water. Also you have to try the empanadas and chicken with rice, beans and platanos it's the best! read more

Delicious! Staying at a hotel in the area and I walked there for breakfast and lunch. Big portions, awesome food, and great prices. Wish I had found this place at the beginning of my vacation rather than the end. I would have had breakfast there every morning! read more

This place gets a 5 because the food is really good, the dining room is modern, it's not touristy but is frequented by locals, and the staff was pleasant and efficient. It isn't singularly Latin, but encompasses Cuban, Venezuelan, Puerto Rican, and Peruvian recipes. I'm going back whenever I'm in the area! read more

Coming from a household of a Puertorican mother who would come home and cook for me after a long day of work, this place really hits home. Me and my girlfriend walked to this location from our hotel room. At first I was skeptical at the "order in the front first and then we will serve your food" dilemma but, when I was served my food with probably one of the best prices since we've been here. I was in love. Big portion for a price that surprised us all the way to universal studios. Try it for yourself. Can't wait to come back here read more

The food was absolutely amazing. The flavors were so distinct and so wonderful. If you are looking for something amazing stop in!!!!!

On my way to airport from Disney needed a place to grab breakfast with my family. Great food, friendly serice, clean environment. Wife and kid loved it we had a great meal. Will definitely come back next time we are in Orlando. Thank you!! read more

Worst Latin food. We ordered several plates which none tasted correct. It was like a bad attempt by a non Latin to cook authentic food. Food that should be fried fresh tasted hours old. I'm Puerto Rican and non of that food came even close to the right taste. Hire a Latin cook that knows Latin food. The food sucks! read more

Been to this place a couple times for breakfast and lunch as well. Staff is very nice and helpful. Spanish speaking as well if you have trouble ordering. The place is clean and socially distanced now due to COVID. Every time I've come I've enjoyed eating here. The food is amazing and wide selection and if you come I highly recommend their shakes. I will continue to come every time I make a trip up to Orlando. Gem of a spot. read more

The food was pretty average nothing out of the ordinary maybe I'm biased because I live in Miami but I wouldn't return. The only two things I really liked were the empanadas and coconut flan. Come here for decent Hispanic food with okay prices. read more

Good food, but lacking stellar customer service. The staff could have been more organized and proactive in helping us. You first have to wait in line to order food, then wait for a table to open. Luckily we got a table right away, but our food took a while to come out. When the server came back with food, it was incomplete. We had to ask for things we ordered so those items came later. I actually enjoyed the food, but it was a little frustrating when you have to wait and flag down the server just for a water refill. It made whatever I ordered forgettable. The overall experience was meh. read more

Bring your ass to this restaurant immediately. My first time having Cuban food, and it is the bomb. If I live this way I will come at least once a week for something. I am a registered foodie and I approve this message. read more

I can't even give this place a star. Worst restaurant ever . Went there with my wife and daughter on September 12, 2018. They didnt offer an high chair for the baby. I had eggs and bacon with toast. They brought out the eggs recooked and oily instead of making me fresh eggs. I had brought a drink from the outside and they ask me if I took soda from the soda machine. Because I asked for a plastic cup. This is unbelievable never experience this type of matter before and I'm Hispanic as well but darker. So I'm not sure if this is a race issue and if it is please don't support a restaurant that's racist to there own kind. Thank you read more

Cons -Cheap rice, which was hard and cold -food had no seasoning -tostones were hard and dry -nothing tasted authentic -everything had raw garlic on it Pros -serving size was ok -service was good -restaurant was nice and also very clean Bottom line if you are Hispanic this isn't what you think it's going to be read more

Every time I visit Florida, I always crave Cuban, Venezuelan and Colombian food! I hesitated visiting Sofrito because for some reason I didn't think it was a real restaurant. I decided to come on my second to last day.... and now I'm upset I waited so long. I ended up dining here my last two nights.... the food is that good! The service was incredible, staff was super attentive and they checked in on us and other tables throughout dinner. GREAT SERVICE! We had their Cuban sandwich, very juicy and well balanced with each ingredient. Only negative, the sandwich would dry out as it got cold. Their Cachapa was amazing, churrasco was perfection, sautéed shrimp was delicious and their desserts were a must!!! I ordered their Venezuelan empanada because I overheard a women behind me in line say she was ordering 5 of them as her entree. So I had to try it for myself. It did not disappoint! I ordered their mini tequenos to take to the airport the next morning, even reheated they were still yummy!!! I can't wait for my next trip to the sunshine state. read more

We tried this place while on vacation and I must say the food was great!! Great location and I will definitely return the next time we visit. The restaurant was crowded which shows how popular it is but we were still able to find seating. They also had outdoor seating which was a plus. I like that they had many different Latin foods. Hopefully next time we can try their breakfast options. read more

This is an amazing Latin restaurant, perfect for tourists tired of chain slop and wanting something quick, fresh and delicious. My family is vegetarian and we were thrilled with the vegetarian empanada, the veggie plate, and the red beans and rice (seriously as good as anything you would get in New Orleans). Prices are beyond reasonable; for the food you get and the quality it's amazing they can charge so little. Staff friendly and efficient. Loved this place! read more

Delicious food! I had the steak and the empanadas both were amazing! They have indoor and outdoor seating!

Very yummy! We came here as a family of four and ordered a bunch of their different empanadas, a salad and a roast pork arepa. Our 2 young kids loved their fresh mango and blackberry juices. We shared all the food so that we could try everything. All of the empanadas were delicious, same with the salad. The pork in the arepa was very flavourful. Service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean, would repeat as customer but we live in Canada :( Would be great to have this type of authentic Latin food up here! read more
