I'm a fan because of the Venezuelan empanada, the atmosphere and the service. 1) Do try the empanadas. I ordered the Venezuelan empanada, and it was DELICIOUS. (Empanadas are something that I HAVE to try if I'm at a place, and they offer it.) 2) The atmosphere is so chic, modern, intimate but also fast food-like. A very cool twist on things. It's a good family-friendly environment, but also a good place for one of your side pieces. ;) (Or your main piece. xD) 3) Everyone was super friendly. They always came to check up on my table. Other than that, the Cuban sandwich and the churrasco were just okay. I only ordered that because I kept seeing Yelp reviews about how good these items were, especially the churrasco. For me, the service, atmosphere and empanada are what saved my opinion in order to give it a "4 stars." read more

Amazing food, great mix of south American and Caribbean food. I will definitely be back.

Poor Customer service, only saw the server once when they brought our food. You have to order before sitting down and if you ordered an appetizer you receive it with your main meal so there is no point in ordering one. The taste was good but not great. read more

The food and service is good, I absolutely love the empanadas!! I have ordered twice and definitely will be back. I have not sat in to eat so I can't speak on that, but ordering for pick up has been fast & easy. read more

We went twice in a week and I could have gone more. Everything was delicious. Just amazing

This is a great spot and it's not like your traditional restuarant where u sit and then order. Here you order then sit and they will bring the food out to you. Lucy, was very nice and the food was a great mix of Puerto Rican, cuban,Venezuelan food. I see why they have a good rating. This is a must try if you're in the area. read more

This place is the bomb. After wanting to find a more unique dining experience, we stumbled across this treasure. My friends and I all got the main dishes that ranged from $8.99-14.99 and came with three sides and a salad. It's very cute complete with Edison lightbulbs and mason jar beer cups you can't go wrong. The waitstaff was unbelievably kind and very helpful in explaining anything about the menu. read more

Food is good. The only down side was, it was only supposed to be 10 mins and ended up being 35 mins. Then the same girl that took my order asked if I had a recipe to prove that I ordered. I guess if you have 30 mins to spare this place is really good . read more

Add a sixth star to this place if possible. Ordered some food through doordash and gave it a shot and it was on point! Ordered three meals and some yucca frito and it was perfectly packaged, including napkins and utensils. I ordered it through the "group order" option and they separated everyone's meal by bag which was so appreciated. The food tastes amazing. I personally had bistec salteado con arroz blanco, habichuela negras y papas fritas and it all came together perfect like the Avengers assembled in a takeout container. I had a beef patelito (empanada) and it was FULL of meat, as in, no hot air just filling the empty spaces like some welfare chimitruck might have. Whomever prepared this food has hands blessed by God. Real talk. Highly recommended to anyone looking for some bomb latin food. God bless yall. read more

Loved it. Great friendly staff and a lot of food options to choose from. Will return when back in Orlando.

This is my 2nd time going to this place while visiting Orlando & I plan to make it a norm for each time I'm in town. I've gone for breakfast/brunch and for lunch: both times have been very satisfying. Their natural juices are all delicious. Coffee is great and the food DE-licious. The customer service is great: friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. read more

I have absolutely no criticism. A group of six ate generously and even had leftovers to take. Everyone of us were completely satisfied and are certainly looking to return during our next trip to Orlando. The food was fresh, they were vegan friendly and the service was timely. Please do yourself a favor and pick up some amazing Latin food at this location. read more

This place lives up to the hype folks. Definitely stop by when in the area. Amazing dishes all around.

Every time we come from NY we make sure we stop here. The food and dessert is always on point but tonight we came in around 8pm and the empty tables inside were uncleaned, they brought my husband the wrong drink and then waited 15 mins to get the drink he ordered. We both had the churrasco which it's always so good but not once did the servers come by to ask if we wanted another drink or anything else so we left without any dessert because we didn't want to wait. read more

Awesome! We arrived very late while on a staycation looking for a bite to eat at 9:40 pm and were welcomed without a problem. The restaurant closes at 10pm. We enjoyed our meals and our only regret is that we didn't take pictures of the pelua arepa, tripleta, and Colombian hamburger. The taste was fabulous! Being well acquainted with Latin food allowed us to enjoy the meal and share the positive review without hesitation. The service was great. While we awaited for our meal we observed staff cleaning the machines, tables, bar, etc thoroughly. We are impressed and will return before we leave the area. read more

Was in the area and my family was hungry so we popped on yelp to look at what's around and saw all these great reviews for this place so figured why not give it a shot! Nice clean modern looking restaurant with friendly staff. Your handed a menu and told to find a seat and decide what you want then come up front again to order and pay. The menu was short and sweet with a lot of great options. I ordered the lomo saltiado! Couldn't wait for him to put it on the table to take a bite of it, it was delicious! Then I tried it with the rice and was thrown in shock! How come someone who made such a delicious steak mess up rice like that?!?! It was under done and had a little to much garlic! Would definitely go back but they should really fix their current rice recipe read more

Sofrito Latin Cafe - Latin American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

Frustrating! The empanadas seemed to be microwaved and they were cold in the middle. The X-frango has nothing to do with the original dish, it's a simple chicken burger that you can get in any franchise for less. The place was also dirty and the waitress very amateur. read more

Other than the ordering process where you have to stand in line and preorder before sitting for your meal, this place serves the most delicious Latin food I've had. Period. I've always been with friends, and there was never a time we didn't have to go back in line to order more food. A total must have in Orlando!! read more

We just got into town and we are so impressed with the menu, quality of the food, and price. We are trying figure when we can come back before heading home. read more

Such potential but lacked taste on everything I ordered. The biggest disappointment is knowing what these dishes should taste like, but boy did they miss the mark. The food was overall really bland, the fried pork was rock-hard, overcooked, not seasoned and dry, the rice was bland and the desserts were pretty much just empty calories. I was so excited to try this place being in Orlando and looking for some authentic Latin food. The service was great from the minute I walked in the place, very attentive and friendly staff! read more

Don't get me wrong the food had flavor - although the beans could've been cooked a bit longer to be more soft but it was good - the rice was abut hard almost like they made a "concon" which the bottom of the pot rice- some people like it some don't . In my case I didn't mind but I would've preferred it softer . I gave this restaurant 2 because they don't serve you . This is my first time here and you have to pay before sitting& that includes tip which would probably alter the way they serve you maybe idk - (no one sits you) they give you a table number and you go find a seat -_- . Yes , people give you your drink ( bartender ) and then a server for food . But no , they don't come back ! If you ordered dessert you have to get up and get it and the water is a fountain basically and you have to serve that yourself too ! I didn't like that it literally , I felt like I needed someone serving me . Anyhow , the environment is well decorated but why fans ? It wasn't hot just nice enough to sit down outside but they had fans and it was overly cold .. and to end this .. the table was rocking back and forth which I could've got up and went to another chair but it's not that serious ; just a detail I felt like I had to share . Other than that it was some flavorful food ! Maybe not the right textures but definable potential ! Oh and try the jalapeño sauce if you like ! I had it with Churasco , white rice , sweet plantains and it comes with salad ( if you get plantains you get a special sauce ) read more

I have been here twice, a week or so apart. The first time we all loved our food. It was incredibly flavorful and well-crafted. The roast pork I had was amazing! As were the plantains and I loved the tiny potatoes with rock salt on them. Our waitstaff was attentive, personable and friendly. The pricing was excellent. There are options for every budget. My sister's (skirt?) steak looked and smell amazing. She said it was fantastic. We got empanadas as an appetizer and our food arrived perfectly right after we finished them. We very much enjoyed the experience and couldnt wait to go back. I would have given 5 stars if it wasnt for the second visit... The second time we went, which was Sunday, they seemed to be setting up for an event. I asked for yucca and they didnt have any. My sister asked for a menu item they also seemed to be out of. My food came about 7 min before hers so she had to sit there looking at it. She also ordered an empanada as an appetizer and it came after she got her food. When she got her food she asked if she could cancel the empanada and the guy said "I could just... not bring it out." (I reminded her she had already paid for it and he was trying to say she wasnt getting her money back.) It was a nice evening so we decided to sit outside and we were 100% ignored. Not once did anyone ask how our meals were. I'm glad I got soda because she wanted water and, after sitting there about a half hour with none, I went in and asked if we could get some water and the guy told me just to get it myself. I didnt realize you have to go inside and get your own water and I dont mind doing so, it was the way he said it I guess. While my plantains were still very good, there was no rock salt on my potatoes and the rock salt was what really elevated them so they were just... boring dull potatoes. My roast pork was nowhere near as flavorful and it was dry. I was annoyed long before we left. If youre going to put people who opt to eat outside on the pay no mind list, then maybe put a little sign "no service outside" or something. I even had to go inside and ask for to-go boxes. The first visit was so great that I am sure we will revisit this place a third time so, hopefully, it will be a repeat of the first visit and not of the last. Or it will probably be the last. read more

Found this gem right next door to our hotel. Stopped by with my in brother in law who we were vacationing with. Gotta love the concept this place has. Food from Cuba, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Colombia. We tried a couple of dishes and the food was good. Prices were excellent! I like the concept of ordering at the counter and they will bring it to you once your order is ready. I hope to be back soon enough! read more

Delicious food, churros come with chocolate and caramel to dip into so amazing! Fue divino!

Delish! Good size place. It's counter service with a twist. Being from SoFl, I can say I know good Latin food....this is it! I wont elaborate more than that. There's a lot of opinions about which food item was best and they're all right. What IS imporant to know is the service. Check this out: We were on a family trip this past weekend. 17 of us (inc. 4 toddlers)!!! We walked in n hour before they closed. Dick move right? Yeah, having worked in the restaurant biz, normally that kind of thing is met with eye rolls and irritation. Now with these guys and gals, picture the opposite. nothing buy smiles and in general, just seeming that they were going over and above to get everything for us, accomodate us, and assure we were all happy. the food, the service, all A+ Def will be a "must do" when we need a break from that "Disney Dining" Thank you, Sofrito!!! read more

My newest favorite spot in Orlando is the Sofrito Latin Cafe! The classiest counter service restaurant I have ever seen! Upon entering you choose from various Latin dishes from many countries. Drinks, and coffee abound. They are rung up at the counter and you are provided a number. You choose your table and they quickly bring your food out to the table. The roast pork was seasoned perfectly, soft, juicy and perfectly cooked! Boiled yuca has a cilantro/garlic sauce, tostones have a dipping sauce and the sweet plantains were perfectly done. The platters come with three ample sides. The entire platter was the best home cooked bargain in Orlando at $10!! Yes, I said $10! The perfectly cooked, prepared pork platter was beautifully presented and clearly what would have been presented in much higher end and more expensive Latin restaurants for a bargain price! I'm SO impressed and will be back each and every time I return to Orlando! A must do destination meal when you are in town. If you want good quality, reasonably priced, well prepared, beautifully presented Latin food by polite and helpful servers then the Sofrito Latin Cafe is the place to go in Orlando!! read more

Holy Crap Batman! How this place doesn't get 5 stars for each patron is beyond me. This place is seriously legit!! First off, it is self service to a degree. You order at the counter. When you walk through the door, someone greets you immediately!! They present the menu board (2 sided, but simple) and ask you if you have ever been here, then they talk about the place and how to order. They tell you to take any seat you like and take your time. When you are ready, come up and they will take care of you. I ordered the Churrasco. A skirt steak that was drizzled with an oil and seasonings. Not too much and not to overwhelming. Very very nice!! Probably the single greatest skirt steak ever. Seriously!! I make this steak a lot at my house when we have red meat. It's really the only kind of steak I make/eat because of how lean it is. I was asked for 3 sides! Really?? 3 sides? And my order came with a small salad too. It was a lot of food for $14.99, IMO. I LOVED the ambience and hangout feel but could also be construed as a nice sit down as the place is very tastefully decorated. Totally causal atmosphere with many business people popping in here too. You have to experience this place for yourself. You won't be disappointed!! I have to bring my beautiful wife here next trip with me. She will love this place too. We are pretty picky eaters and expect high quality from restaurants. This is clearly a 5 star place. Everyone is very attentive to the customer and I love the easy going greet at the door and how they make you feel at home!! Thanks Sofrito Cafe, when I am in town, we are here!! Which is pretty often, BTW! Buon Appetito mi amici read more

LOVED this hidden gem! Being that I'm from Miami I've tasted some really good Spanish food. The menu doesn't have much options, but that's not a bad thing. I was craving sandwich so I ordered a croqueta preparada, which was tasty. My fiancé ordered the lomo saltado which was very tasteful and flavorful and my sister ordered the churrasco which I deeply regretted not ordering that for myself. It came with chimichurri, probably one of the top tasting chimichurri sauce I've had in my chimichurri tasting life... And that's a lot! Although this place is set up as a restaurant, you order your food and pay for it first. You get a number, and when your food is ready someone brings it to you. The drink are all self service. I loved the churrasco so much I had my sister stop here to pick me up an order before coming back to Miami. read more

Ordered delivery for lunch for a large group (12). Arepa was great - domino. Plantain was a little dry. Passion fruit drink was good.

Food from the parks can be very mediocre and you get tired of the same fare. Thankfully, Sofrito's is a great change in a convenient location. The cachapas are a must, it's possibly what they are known for, a savory and sweet blend of queso fresco and a rich corn pancake. Adding meat is $3 extra, but worth it for the added taste. This place would be a solid 5 if the staff was a bit more attentative to cleaning the tables and if their main dishes had a bit more of an impactful flavor when it comes to their marinades and seasonings. Overall, it hit the spot. If you would like to see more reviews and recommendations for locations mainly in South Florida, follow @soflofoodi on Instagram. read more

Sooo good! Ate at Sofrito multiple times during my trip to Disney World, as it was very close to my hotel and the parks. I had the churasco, beef arrepa, cachapa with beef, and maracuya juice, and I loved each one! My husband and I even brought an arrepa and cachapa back home on the plane--that's how much we loved the food. If you want authentic Argentinian, Colombian and Venezuelan food, make your way to Sofrito. They are very fast and give excellent service.
