The pork on the sandwich is soooo flavorful and really makes the sandwich. I also got the roast pork meal with yellow rice and black beans and sweet plantains. The pork on its own we to die for, and the rest of the food was really good as well. A little extra beans would be good, but I'm a big eater, so probably just me. It is just really nice to eat here. There is plenty of parking. It feels nice to walk in. It is clean and a great place to take family for affordable eats on a Disney Vacation (if you have a car). If you don't have a car, they participate in UberEats. Check out the app. The design of the restaurant is nice and open. There are lots of Edison style bulbs. The main bar top is nice. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. They have a wide variety of Latin American foods. Before I became vegetarian I used to get the Cuban Sandwiches, Half Chicken (Pollo ala brasa - Peruvian), empanadas, roast pork. Now that I am vegetarian leaning Vegan, I go with the vegetarian plate which comes with three sides. Yellow rice - more savory but cooked in Chicken stock. Red Beans - cooked in meat, unctuous (may have bones at times). Their appetizer breads they feature have a nice variety including regular flour empanadas, corn empanadas (gluten free), pan de bono (gluten free). WHAT A GREAT RESTAURANT!! I work and live nearby. Drove by Sofrito for many many times but never thought about going in (did not know it is a very highly restaurant on yelp ). I got to learn more about the restaurant and the food at the Yelp event last month and got a $5 off coupon. Friday night we were looking for dinner choices; I was soooo hungry so decided why not try out Sofrito. I got the roast pork and was blown away when the plate was served. It was A LOT OF FOOD. If you get an entrée, it comes with a salad and you get to pick three more sides. For my roast pork, I got some boiled yucca, tostones, and yellow rice. They also gave me a dip/sauce that looks like thousand island on the side. Not quite sure what that was for but I assumed it's for the salad or tostones? Anyway the roast pork was SO FLAVORFUL. I read from some previous comments that it's roasted for about 36 hours. No wonder it's so tender and flavorful. Amazing. What makes it even more wonderful is the price. The entire plate of yumminess was only $9! Bf got the pancake dish with braised beef. I can't remember the Spanish name. It was pretty good but too cheesy and oily for me. When you walk in, they have their menu's hanging on a rack and it's two sided no fuss menu. Although the font is a little small, it's still possible to read. There are board games in the front that you can take to your table. We had a young child with us, so this a game of Jinga before dinner was perfect to entertain him as we waited to be served. There is also a large map on the wall, where you can mark the location from which you hail. Fun and educational for kids! I went with 3 friends and two of us got the Pollo La Brascas. It came with 3 sides. I got a side salad, white rice, fries and black beans. My friend got fried plantains (delicious!) and red beans. You can get a quarter or 1/2 chicken, which was nicely seasoned and cooked to perfection! You have a choice of dark or white meat. I chose white, which was moist, and flavorful. The fries were a little soggy and the salad was very basic. The whole meal was very large and enough to share among two people. I also tasted their vanilla flan, which was very sweet! We were full and satisfied. The whole dinner was very affordable considering the quality and quantity. I'd highly recommend it! read more

LOVED this hidden gem! Being that I'm from Miami I've tasted some really good Spanish food. The menu doesn't have much options, but that's not a bad thing. I was craving sandwich so I ordered a croqueta preparada, which was tasty. My fiancé ordered the lomo saltado which was very tasteful and flavorful and my sister ordered the churrasco which I deeply regretted not ordering that for myself. It came with chimichurri, probably one of the top tasting chimichurri sauce I've had in my chimichurri tasting life... And that's a lot! Although this place is set up as a restaurant, you order your food and pay for it first. You get a number, and when your food is ready someone brings it to you. The drink are all self service. Ordering our food took a long time. After ordering it took 35 minutes for our food to come out. I ordered a vegetarian sandwich, the vegetables were raw inside. I paid for quesitos, afterwards they told me they didn't have any so brought me something else instead. We ordered an arepa de jamón y queso and the cheese was cold and not melted. The Argentinian empanada was salty and reheated. We also had to wait a long time for tables to be cleaned and there is lots of food on the floor from previous patrons. I'll give Sofrito a 3-3.5 overall: food was okay, ambience and value for money very good. Menu pan-Latin American (Cuba, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Peru, Colombia). I focused on Venezuela: Started with a salad (huge portion, fresh, overdressed); had an arepa "pabellon" (good--the arepa was more Colombian style than Venezuelan, but still my favorite part of the meal... the carne mechada was perfect plus just the right amount of queso rayado); a cachapa (came out cold, was a little too greasy, the cornmeal was bland, not sweet enough for me); a side of tostones (could have used more salt); and a guava juice. Ordered a vanilla flan, which they didn't bring out. The cashier was happy to remedy the mistake, but accidentally brought me coconut flan instead of vanilla which was just ok. As others have noted, the process to order is convoluted and not good for larger groups: you read the menu off a slate, order, then head for your table where they'll bring your food. Prices are great and portions of everything except the flan were humongous. Staff were friendly, their porch was the perfect place for dinner, and the vibe was relaxed and familiar. My favorite Venezuelan food in Orlando still comes from somewhere else--but Sofrito Cafe's prices and portions are better by quite a bit. This place is the bomb. After wanting to find a more unique dining experience, we stumbled across this treasure. My friends and I all got the main dishes that ranged from $8.99-14.99 and came with three sides and a salad. It's very cute complete with Edison lightbulbs and mason jar beer cups you can't go wrong. The staff is nice , but I wouldn't recommend this place 100 percent . I was staying in a hotel near by and door dashed dinner which was great . So I decided to go in person to eat breakfast the next day with my family before leaving Orlando .. .First time going in , one of the girls asked if it was our first time . We said yes so she gave us an option to order with them or on their pos. I ordered on the pos , payed for the food and even added a tip since it asked for the percentage of what tip we wanted to leave. I ended up leave 15%. Honestly I wouldn't of left that before if I knew how it was going to be. They have a sign saying you're family in there . But honestly they need actual waitresses . I order through the pos and part of the order was ham and cheese sandwiches . Gave us an option for add ons. I added eggs and avocado. Didn't give us an option if we wanted it inside the sand which or to the the side so assumed it was on the side . When we got our order they included the eggs and avocado inside the sandwich instead of on the side which is not what we wanted . So the sandwiches ended up tasting crappy and it was a mess since the eggs were over medium. On top of that they brought 3 out of 4 meals . Leaving my 7 year old daughter to wait for her breakfast . Finally when she got her waffles , they were cold and hard .. it's just nothing like how I expected . It was a nice place , staff were nice but not the experience I expected . The customer service is great too and all the employees were friendly. The only thing I think could have been better was the kids meal.
