We were able to send her video snips of elements we wanted to use along with other ideas we had in mind and she found ways to incorporate all of it. I agree with Evin J about the high pressure sales pitch on the first lesson. It seems Erin is taking advantage of soon to be wedded couples and pressures them into making a $1000 decision there and on the spot. I didnt like that at all. This is the only vendor in my entire wedding planning that I had to make a decision on the spot. Why not say "Why don't you go home, discuss it, and see what you think is best and let me know what you decide". It really set the wrong tone for the entire lesson package. I highly recommend that you enroll your next dance lessons at Erin's Social Style Ballroom Dance studio.  In addition to the flexible lesson schedules and the Crème de la Crème dance instructors that are employed, Social Style is a multi layer of professionalism that thus far exceed and surpass the dancing industry standard.  In September of 2018, I immediately bought a reduced price 26 dance lesson package right after my free complimentary lesson with Erin. My very first thoughts weren't about how much money I was spending, but was about how much money I was saving on something that was going to be very exciting for me to learn. My dance instructor, Charmaine made sure my learning pace was set at my comfort and confidence level. Anne-Marie offered suggestions and tweaked my technique. Erin reviewed and monitored my knowledge of the dance routines on a weekly basis to make sure I was getting the best results of my dancing package. Dance routines that I've learned so far is the "Push Pull" ,"Rumba" and Triple Time Swing" better known as the East Coast Swing. More dancing lessons to follow........ I cannot begin to say how much I appreciate Erin, as well as her gifted/talented instructors, Anne-Marie and Charmaine, whom have changed my outlook on life, given me positive direction and personal fulfillment with dancing, that I still continue to enjoy to this day. Social Style is a great studio for beginner dancers and for people looking to see if they like dancing. Erin gave us a great start for dancing and if it wasn't for her I know my husband wouldn't be still dancing. Initially, this looked like an awesome studio with a lot to offer. The owner seemed friendly and helpful as we asked questions about options. However, we quickly realized we were being given inaccurate information (for example, we initially asked about scheduling a few classes over one weekend when we both were in town and were told this is absolutely possible and happens often; then we were told that they actually do not offer any packages smaller than 6 lessons; then, we realized Groupon offers a 2 class package) and the owner became rude and dismissive when we pointed this out and tried to ask more questions. Also, she refused to give us any information about package options and prices until we came in to meet with her in person, and then once we met with her in person to get the pricing information and consider whether we wanted to become customers, she said she considered us "active customers," which meant we couldn't use the Groupon offer. There are several other more promising studios, especially if you care about working with people who value and respect customers. read more

If you're looking for a "choreographed" looking dance, this is the place for you. Personally, we were very disappointed with our time wasted vesting this place out. We called Erin letting her know what we were looking for in regards to our first dance at our wedding. During our "free" lesson, we discussed what we wanted again: a very easy going and simple dance. First off, Erin is a very rude person. On the phone and in person she is just really bitchy (I can't use the word my fiancé used for her attitude) and just kind of sucky. Like you're putting her out. Second off, our dance recommendation was not even close to what we were looking for. When I asked if she could offer a toned down version, she said, simply "no, this is the only dance I feel comfortable teaching you" She pitched us a $1000 "offer". It was a high pressure and high guilt sell. We had to make the decision there and now... Like with her sitting and looking at us. Otherwise, risk having to pay $1500 if we waited. I agreed to the "deal" on the ride home. Erin's warning that 3 months before the wedding was really cutting it close to start dance classes, fueled my decision. Thank gosh I woke up the next morning and came to my senses and canceled the whole thing. read more

My wife and I went in and took the free lesson that Social Style offers. We really liked Erin a lot and enjoyed the way she taught. We ended up signing up for private lessons and had her choreograph our first dance for our wedding. The dance was perfect and we wowed our guests. Now that our wedding has passed we have moved into group lessons as we cant imagine not dancing every week. It has become an integral part of our relationship. We have been taking dance lessons with Erin for over a year, and we love it! We have taken both private lessons and classes. I recommend both equally. Erin is an excellent teacher. Like another reviewer noted, we came to Erin at Social Style after wasting money and time with lessons at another competitor. We are so glad we found Erin! She teaches you a lot and makes it fun at the same time! She gives you input and is open to you asking questions not only during lessons but you can call or text her outside of lessons or even come into the studio to practice at almost any time. Also for couples wanting to learn their first dance for their wedding, she has a package with a set price that takes you through everything you need to feel confident in your first dance. She really looks at all the details for you and you can genuinely tell she wants your first dance to be amazing! I am happy we found Erin and to me, the set price and her being forthcoming in the number of lessons needed to get us to our first dance made it a clear decision for us to sign up right away.
