Timmy Green - Very heavy breakfast

For our first full day in London we wanted to catch the Changing of the Guard ceremony at…read moreBuckingham Palace. The plan was to get there early for a good spot, but we wanted to have a good breakfast somewhere nearby first. Timmy Green came up as a suggestion. Once we saw we could make a reservation and it was easily accessible from the Tube, it was a done deal. This place had a lot of charm. Lots of bright colors, big windows with natural light shining through, and greenery. It was a nice morning and not raining so we decided to sit on their covered patio. The husband and I started with a latte and chai tea. Their beverages are photo worthy, topped with lovely milk art. They also tasted great. My chai was perfectly balanced, not too strong or sweet. I almost always get savory brunch. But for some reason the Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes were calling my name. These were the thickest and fluffiest pancakes I've ever seen topped with fresh berries and whipped mascarpone cream. Even before taking a bite I was blown away by how incredible they looked on the plate. It was pure art and the taste backed it up. The mascarpone was so creamy and the pancakes light. Loved having some strawberry sauce and the maple syrup on the side to add as I pleased. My husband ordered The Bondi, which was kind of a play on an English breakfast. It came with back bacon, poached eggs, chill and fennel sausage, mushrooms, avocado, and charcoal sourdough. When the plate arrived we noticed the small Australian flag toothpick, this is how we learned that their food is inspired from Australian cuisine. The poached eggs were perfectly runny, the sourdough nicely toasted, the meats well seasoned and tender, and the vegetables fresh. A perfect savory balance to my sweet choice. We sat and enjoyed the nice weather for a bit once we were done and were in no way rushed. Overall this was a great find, thank you other tourists for the suggestion and I agree. If you are looking for some tasty brunch before heading over to Buckingham palace or other central London activities, check out Timmy Green.

We visited for a pre-"Hamilton" (the musical playing around the corner at the Victoria Theatre)…read moredinner after searching on Yelp for some well-rated restaurants in the area. My son made a reservation and must have been asked about his birthday, because after being seated by the friendly maitre d' (I think his name was Alex), the maitre d' returned to the table to note that he had been informed that it was someone's birthday. We confirmed that it was my son's birthday the following day, at which point the maitre d' left and came back a few minutes later with a card for my son. The card wished my son Happy Birthday from the various wait staff and said we were being given a 20% discount off our meal (typically, the gift is 20% off your next meal, but the matter d' recognized we were from the US and were unlikely to be making regular visits to the restaurant). After this wonderful greeting, we ordered food from the pre-theatre menu, and we loved all of the food except the tempura broccoli, which was very heavy and too salty for my taste. My son and I especially liked the Longhorn sirloin steak with an egg on top, and my wife was happy with her king prawn salad. My only disappointment was that we ate too much that day and, therefore, we decided to forego dessert, which meant no sticky toffee doughnut. Overall, an excellent meal!

We ordered the Chicken Bun (which is a Chicken Sandwich) and it was super good! The chipotle Mayo really makes the dish. The lamb lettuce bowl was good as well, heavy on the raisins. Skewers were tasty as well. We got artichoke dip to start and it was really great, has a hint of lime. The only food that wasn't exactly what we expected was the mac&cheese, it could use a bit more cheesy cheese. Overall super cute ambiance, great food & kind people! Would come again!!

They squeezed us in between two tables! There is a huge amount of cakes and large scones with jam and cream as well as yummy sandwiches. There is a large selection of teas. The "set"tea had more of a homemade rather than elegant or theme based teas but my granddaughters were very happy to choose what they wanted to eat! The tables are pretty close together so go early if you prefer it to be less busy!

I loved the decor and atmosphere. Food: My friend and I both ordered the traditional English breakfast. I had mine with vegan sausage. The breakfast was exactly what I expected and was pretty good. I was excited they had a vegan sausage option instead of leaving the sausage off like other places. Service: Our service was quick and friendly. We were able to order promptly and our food came out in an expected amount of time. There is a bit of a time limit for stays because they are so busy, but we didn't feel rushed at all. TL;DR - Lovely place for an English breakfast

Most memorable dinner we have experienced in a year or more. …read more Beautiful trout with spring vegetables in a subtle glaze and chicken schnitzel with an aioli type sauce. Even the asparagus deserved its own review. Staff knew how to make the evening a hit including a very rare thing: a well mixed martini. Our meal was topped off with a perfect British sponge cake snuggled down in warm toffee and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The environment of casual benches and chairs with homemade cushions surprisingly served to make the relaxed ambiance the perfect background for the fine dining. The chef and staff share their process in an open kitchen which allows the diner to appreciate the whole experience. No one hurried us. Everyone was professional and lively. Everything on the plate was FANTASTIC. I especially want to note the bacon- I'm somewhat of a bacon snob and theirs was perfectly done. Thick and cooked enough to be sturdy but not overcooked and too crispy. My first time trying black pudding and I was a little hesitant, but it was also delicious. Highly recommend this place. I wish we were staying longer in London, we'd probably come back every morning!
