Been here a couple of times. The place is absolutely beautiful, food and service is good.

This place is such an insta-worthy spot and the dishes are so colorful that I had to add this to our list to hit up while we were in the city. The set up is absolutely adorable. It's really cute here and very bright. it reminded me of a really adorable cafe in the streets of europe. RED VELVET LATTE I didn't like this latte. It was way too sweet. The consistency was a nice thickness and I could taste the red velvet, but it was very rich. MORNING GLORY- mango, peach, and passionfruit I really liked this refreshing drink. It's definitely something to order on a warm day. The fruit flavors were very good and sweet. This could perhaps be a mimosa in the making. THE FRENCHY- vanilla mascarpone, maple, berries, caramelised banana, mochi rice cake This dish was very sweet. It was a mistake ordering this because everything on the plate was sweet. I did like the french toast. It had a good thick texture on the edges, but still soft and moist in the center. The fresh fruits helped to balance out some of the sweetness of the dish, but unfortunately there was not enough fruits. The maple was too sweet and the caramelised banana was also very rich with the mascarpone. Most likely we won't be ordering this in the future. ARIGATO WAFFLES- furikake chicken waffles, cheddar, crispy bacon, and miso hollandaise This was my favorite dish of the meal. It was absolutely perfect. I'm giving this place an extra star because of this dish. The waffles were perfect. It was crisp and so light. The chicken was also very crispy and moist. The miso hollandaise sauce really tied everything together and added a sweet and savory factor. The bacon was not as crisp as I would've liked. I would've preferred the fattier bacon for texture purposes and also because it's more flavorful. Overall, it was the perfect dish for my palate. I will come back solely for the arigato waffles. It was so good. Other than that, everything else was ehh~ Service was not great. It took the girls forever to get our orders. The decor is definitely something to come for. read more

Social hideout is super cute! The decor down to the lil things, silverware, cups, etc. is adorable. Of course we all love Instagramable places, but when it comes to restaurants that are cute the food is often overpriced or lacking. Social Hideout is NOT like that. My friends and I were impressed with the food, everything we tasted was delicious. I had the red velvet pancakes and I've been dreaming about them ever since. They weren't overly sugar candy sweet, they were perfect. Prices were good, food was great, and our pics came out super adorable! What more could you ask for? Went back to try the Frenchy on their new menu and it was the bomb! So pretty and delicate but very tasty! Loved the just orange juice too! Also got to sample the burger which I believe is called the American, so juicy! Oh Lordy! read more

I had The Zinger to drink and Arabian Board to eat. Both were fantastic, but I wish there was more ginger and turmeric in the Zinger. I only tasted a bit of turmeric but can say the whole thing got me up and going. The Arabian Board seems like a great idea, but the egg....what a mess. I hate leaving a mess so I set up a bread barrier to keep the yolk from going on the table. If the server had come back, I would have gotten a cake shake, but alas, it is pay at the bar and I did not know so I waited ages and then had to leave. Serve yourself water? No thanks, I hardly breathe when I'm eating, there's no time to get up for water. read more

This place has recently had a bit of a makeover and changing of brands and new owners (I think). I had brunch there and the decor and layout of this place is very cute - flowers and wooden style layout. I ordered an "American" which is egg, bacon, Avo, hash brown with bbq sauce and aioli on a milk bun ($11). Even though it wasn't anything super spectacular, It was still pretty tasty. My friend had the avo smash and she enjoyed hers too. The coffee was okay... I've definitely had better. It tasted bit too bitter and the latte milk was frothed too bubbly. The prices are pretty standard (approx $35) for me and my friend. The customer service was pretty good. Overall not a bad place - I love that there's so many new "hip" cafes in the parramatta area but would try a juice or smoothie next time. It's not anything you'd go out of your way for but I would probably come back to try some of their other lunch options. read more

Social Hideout is an apt name, it is in the back of a building complex near the entry to Coles. Quite far from the Westfield, but not too far from the rest of the food precinct. It has a really nice feel to it upon arriving, outdoor cottage style seating, artificial plants and bench tables. I really like the styling. There's a huge menu, so many breakfast options like banana and Nutella hotcakes, mini burgers, hot pot, Arabian Board and the avocado smash and Bircher sounded and looked Amazing. However, I went with the French toast, how could I not! It was a huge piece or beautifully cooked French toast, topped with vanilla marscapone, strawberries, edible flowers and maple to pour over. It was just the right amount of sweetness. It's great to see that breakfast lasts till 2:30! Perfect! We were there at lunchtime so got the bad boy burger as well. A brioche bun, with lettuce, tomato, aioli drizzled all over, bacon and a beautifully crumbed and seasoned chicken schnitzel / a really generous serving. This was absolutely delicious. Other lunch options you could go for include a Wagyu burger, risotto, marinara, BLAT, pulled pork sliders and a couple of salads. They also have a kiddies option. The menu is quite varied so I'm sure would suit anyone. In terms of drinks they have a number of cold pressed juices; and we got the mango, peach and passion fruit one which was really popping with flavour. I was so keen for the red velvet latte and it was delicious - totally made my day!! They also sell matcha lattes. Although I didn't get one - they have some pretty amazing freak shakes, I'll have to go back sometime. There of course are coffees and teas of all descriptions. This is a great coffee and worth a visit. read more

TRUTHFUL REVIEW Food was overrated along with their customer service! No smiles no friendliness just plain brain dead! Made us wait 20 minutes for the lunch menu to open so we can order because we missed the brunch menu......like seriously? Also wouldn't add extra mushrooms even though I was happy to pay for it on the side because one of the ladies said it's not good for photos and marketing??? What the?when I finally received my food the fish was mushy and came with like 4 pieces of veggies tossed to the side, veggies tasted like nothing! The table behind us received their milkshake served in a gorgeous small bath tub plate - but then they made the comment that it wasn't even nice and cold, it was literally warm! New lunch place - hopeless waitress. Didn't understand what a soft drink was, eventually offered a coke which I didn't want. Then had a lengthy discussion describing what was a cup of tea. Be interesting to see what I end up with to eat, trying for an omelette. Food arrives promptly and it was actually pretty nice, makes up for absent minded waitress. read more

This friendly cafe has been a favourite haunt for my partner and I every weekend for the last two or three months since we moved to the Parramatta area. The food is tasty and pleasantly presented, with wait times usually no more than ten to fifteen minutes when they're busy (this morning we waited under ten). The staff are welcoming and competent. Perhaps what sets this place apart for me is that so far with us they haven't missed a beat. The quality of the food and service is above average and most importantly, consistent. The wait staff recognise us and we feel like valued guests. Our typical spend on breakfast and coffee for two is $45. Whilst not outrageously expensive if it was possible to reduce this to in the region of $40 this place would be pretty much perfect. Social Hideout is not a place of extremes. I've never found myself raving about it, but neither have I ever found myself disappointed. It's a reliable, pleasant experience that I continue to enjoy and have recommended to family and friends. read more

Love the decor and atmosphere! The food was all really well plated and tasted good! The avocado smash was very good and perfect size! The only complaint I will make is that the water was not cold and my green tea latte wasn't the greatest but I will still come back and try everything again and you should too! read more

Colourful coffee & food in a relaxed atmosphere - Social Hideout is the kind of place you can chill out at all day. We were there for breakfast and had the smashed avo with poached eggs and the social hideout brekkie board with eggs, bacon, sausage, hash, mushroom, tomato and sourdough. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. However if you have a sweet tooth do not go past the frenchy! A beautiful dish with sticky maple, mascaporne, berries and caramelised banana that will send you into sweetness heaven. As far as coffees go the red velvet and matcha lattes are full of colour and flavor - the red velvet being my top pick. This cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating and is a fantastic spot for kids with plenty of room for them to run around without disturbing other brunch goers. Parking on a weekend is free on nearby streets. The staff are friendly and the lunch menu looks even more tempting than the brekkie options! We will most certainly be checking into Social Hideout again next time we are in the area read more

wannabe hipster cafe - slow service but still the hipster prices - you may be tricked into trying this place once from the instagram filtered photos but let's be honest this place is not going to survive and is riding the wave of cafes opening up in the west The avo smash is a rip at $16.50, served on ONE petty slice, from the smallest part of the sour dough, they skimped on half an avo and the flavours were simple and not worth the price! We mentioned our disappointment when paying the bill and the response was priceless "that's the way we serve it here" = duh!!! And I think the way you serve it is pitiful - I just saw a photo posted 3 months ago, where they use to serve 2 slices - yikes! We also had the social big breakfast at $18.50, the portion though more on point for value, the quality, questionable, sausages were bland and Maccas hashbrowns are better. I left feeling like I went to the local RSL for a feed, but it was served on a fancy looking impractical chopping board. Warning: Your food will likely be delivered to you warm or cold because the staff don't seem to know the table numbers, on 3 occasions approaching our table with other people's food. There are only 20 tables. And the icing on the cake was waiting 10 mins to pay for the bill. Literally waving, my party and I were contemplating leaving without paying. Finally got someone's attention and then after waiting another 5 mins more, had to yell excuse me for the waitress' attention, she was meant to be getting our bill, only to then find out that they can't print off your bill until they finish settling an open tables payment, that's a weak excuse! I've worked in restaurants and that's ridiculous. The team don't have much of an interest in your feedback unless it's to 'like' their facebook/instagram. A friend and I ordered lunch, a burger for me, barramundi for her. We ordered just before 1.00 pm. At 1.35 we were still waiting for our food. The last straw was when we saw a couple who had come in later than us being served their lunch. Upon telling staff we were leaving as we had to get back to work, we were told: (a) we had not been waiting 35 minutes we had been waiting 21 minutes (even that is unacceptable if you are in your lunch hour) and (b) the reason for the delay was that we had ordered barramundi. How long does it take to cook a fillet of barramundi?! If the manager had just apologised for the slow service rather than contradicting us about the time we had been waiting and blaming the delay our choice of food, we would have returned. But with an attitude like that, no way! read more
