Visiting Australia and I could see this becoming a locomotive go-to if I lived nearby. They worked with my order (Iced Oatmilk latte stirred with honey) and were very accommodating. Friendly baristas, smiles as I walked up. You need to walk through the barista station to get to the dining area but it made it pretty intimate. Small dining area but very cool "Indie" type vibe. My coffee was good and the people were cool. The only thing I would like to see would be a bit more signage out front. It was a bit hard to locate but when you need your daily coffee fix, you're gonna do whatever it takes. Lol. The parking garage was packed but that's not the coffee shops fault. This is a place that's a place in the last place you'd look... riiiiiggghhht?! Totes. So you should go there. They do a mean breakfast. Good coffee. The outside is like a terrace house with the bottom half ripped open, with inviting interior and coffee grinding in the background. My feet took me in here before I even realised what was happening. Don't be confused by the lack of seats out the front, even though there is about 4 tables draiped along the footpath and through the terrace next door's balconies... once you walk past the kitchen in the middle of the cafe, there's more seating out the back! Long seating, booths & tables. You also come out this way to go to the bathroom. Which I was delighted by when I visited because of the painting and wonderful design. Which more than makes up for the fact that it's in a garage sort of thing. Passed by this cafe on the first day as I landed in Sydney. Unfortunately the first time I dropped by it was almost time for them to close (after 3pm). Yes, I saw the reviews and have bookmarked it for awhile too. Came here after work on a Thursday evening. Plenty of other customers at the time I was there but managed to grab a seat on the balcony overlooking the passing cars and I was enjoying the scenery (blue skies, green plants, high rise building, etc). So seating wise, there is a few indoors, balcony or side street seatings - depending on how many of people in your group. Ordered grapefruit juice first and the famous Ottoman Eggs. The words "freshly squeezed" attracted to me first. It was pretty sour as it was grapefruit on its own. Orange juice might be a better refreshing option. After finishing the cup of grapefruit juice, I went on to order the famous Egyptian tea. (I'm not a coffee person so I have no comments on how the different flavored coffees taste like). Egyptian tea was definitely refreshing. I was not too keen on the rosebuds as a mix but they managed to spin the taste around. Not too sweet either. Ottoman eggs - need not go much about it as other Yelpers have been recommending it (through different pictures or reviews). Couldn't describe how tasty, flavorful this particular dish was. Have been here now about 3 times and yes it's been amazing all those times! Located opposite the train station on Wentworth St. You will not see a sign but you can spot the outdoor seating and the colourful graffiti art wall! There were a few seats outside or indoors, i tend to go inside as it is more cosy, plus you get to enjoy the wall artwork and books they have scattered around. Everything on the menu sounds delicious. I have already tried the baked eggs, omlette and egg and bacon sandwich. All thats left to try is the ottomon eggs! :P Staff are always friendly and attentive. Coffee is great, however, will have to trial out their African hot chocolate next time as it looks delicious! It was great to stumble across a place like Circa out west. They have all the traits of your typical indie cafe without the pretentiousness, whether it's from staff or fellow customers. Our server angelina, was just amazing and truly made the Sydney experience soooo much greater. She was there in a jiffy if my friend and I needed something. The wait was never long for anything Bc she was so attentive. The food, was... Truly something else. It looked so delicately beautified, I was too scared to eat it and mess it up. Amazing little cafe hidden away in a small side street. Now onto the good stuff - food: loved the look of the lamb salad wrap, however, I don't eat breads/wraps so asked if I could just order the filling as a salad, No problem (and they made this into a lunch main size during lunch rush hour - now that is service. Coffee: I order their espresso daily and have not had a bad one to date, they use different beans daily and when they hand you the coffee, they let you know where the beans have come from and what blend it is - Incredible! Within walking distance from Westfield Shopping (if you're driving, recommend parking here instead of paying for the nearby parking structure), it's a hidden gem that's a bit hard to find, but worth the effort. It's just 2 minutes walk from the Parramatta Station however limited seating does limit the number of customers unless you are ok with a street table. OTTOMAN EGGS $17 (Poached free range eggs with crumbed eggplant, garlic labne, burnt chilli & sage served with a sourdough seeded baguette) Quite a unique take on eggs. Poached eggs were slightly overcooked, meaning less yolk porn that there should have been. I'm just a fan of fried eggplant, it brought back memories of that street food back home. However, overall was a well balanced dish, although will not fill you up, very small portion indeed. BACON AND EGG ROLL SPECIAL Probably one of the best bacon and egg roll I've ever had. The bacon strips were flash fried to a soft texture. The x factor was those crispy bacon bits bringing texture, flavour and saltiness to the roll. The rest of the ingredients were faultless. FRENCH TOAST $15 (French toast with poached rhubarb, brulee banana, mascarpone yoghurt, cinnamon and spiced honey syrup) This French toast is quite the opposite to the norm of a square toast topped with ingredients instead the presentation is very refined and not drowning the toast with the garnish. I'm sure the chef made sure that each piece of fruit had a matching piece of toast. That precision is reflected in the cooking as the toast is lightly fried, the inside is still fluffy and could have been served by itself. Conclusion Very professional service, waitors take the orders without writing, constantly scanning the room to refill water, clear plates and update customer on food status. The menu had some quite unique dishes along with foodie cafe favourites. However I would only sit inside, not a fan of their outdoor seating. I ordered the Ottomon Egg dish, and a flat white - the egg dish was simply amazing. Sitting on a bed of leben (thicker yogurt), was a lightly fried slice of eggplant, and on top of that were two eggs perfectly done and on top of that were these thinly sliced potatoes served with a very nice toasty spiced french bread with butter on it. This place gets hell busy, when we arrived we were told there was a 30 minute waiting list but we waited anyway. They did serve us sparkling water during the wait as we baked in the hot hot sun. We ended up in the next door porch outside seating so can't describe what it looks like inside. However the cafe does give off that indie modern vibe you don't often find in Parramatta/western burbs. It's a tiny place though easily missable if you don't know where you're looking for. The menu is limited and you can't do any alterations but it's livable because it's delicious. We ordered the baked eggs and French toast. It was a difficult choice my dining partners couldn't decide because all the selections looked very tasty. I know we'll be back to try the other foods, so no stress. Their coffee options are extensive, so if you're into coffee go nuts. It's places like this that strengthen my argument that one does not always have to schlep it into the city or the Inner West to indulge and delight in chic cafe culture. I saw Circa on Yelp and have been meaning to try it for an age! I always go to my old faithfuls while I'm in Parramatta but today I set out in earnest to have brunch at Circa. A few people have said on here that it gets really crowded so I was relieved that there was one table for two left. We sat down and someone promptly took our coffee orders - damn fine carva, damn fine. The menu is limited but from what we sampled what they do, they do well. I had the Ottoman Eggs - which consisted of poached eggs, crumbed eggplant, labna, burnt sage and chilli with a lovely piece of toasted turkish bread on the side. It was simply delicious. I've never tasted nor seen anything like it on a cafe menu. There was a range of tarts and cakes available as well but we were too full to sample them. Circa is really cozy, but not uncomfortably so. The staff are super friendly and enthusiastic. Everything in the cafe seems so open - you have to walk through the kitchen to get to some tables and there are no counters and for me it makes the place seem honest, genuine and above all welcoming. My one criticism would be - MORE SEATS. I will be coming back here so often now and would love to see them expand. It's probably Parramatta's best kept secret. read more

Take all the great things from a inner city cafe (good coffee, food and vibe) and shove it hidden away from the Parra riff-raff in a converted garage and you have a winning combo. I've been here a few times and it's consistently impressive. Their coffee is made by folks who are passionate about their craft. They offered us a cold bottle of aero-press coffee on the house because it was an experiment at the time when they could've easily charged us for it. I love their robust affogato - give it a shot. Their tiny kitchen powered by portable gas stoves pumps out great cafe food with all items less than $10 - How good is that? Easily rivals the best in Surry Hills and a fraction of the cost and without the wanky staff. This place is small so don't bring groups more than 4, but do marvel at how something so good can fit in something that was once dingy. read more

This quiet street of parramatta was given life when Circa was put in. The small cafe makes use of every space is given to create a cosy yet comfortable cafe. I wouldn't have known about this place if a friend from Paramatta hadn't said to me "There's this great place I have to try with you". He was right, it was great. It's a very cozy cafe, there isn't much seating, but the vibe is quiet yet trendy. I ordered the baked eggs ($16) and basically fell in love. They were cooked perfectly, with a great amount of spicy sausage and bread to soak up all the sauce. Just re-opening from their renovation, Circa Espresso is an amazing coffee shop on the non-trendy side of Parramatta. Snugly squeezed between a pub and a day spa near Parramatta station, the decor is eclectic; A Mural of Drunken pigeons, fake deer trophy, faux window boxes, all hipsterish cool stuff. The place is only 4 meters wide, so there's a lot of 2-person tables inside, with a few bigger ones out the front on the footpath and a room behind the kitchen with larger tables. Be prepared for noise if you sit near the espresso machine! If you're a coffee lover this is the place to be in Parramatta, there's all sorts of coffee options from your run of the mill flat white up to 6 hour cold filtered single origin craziness. The tea range is also good stuff, don't miss the honey-soaked chai, served in beautiful teapots! Food on weekends is all-day breakfast, the best I've seen so far is the baked eggs, mixed with spices and sujuk sausages. The menu during the week has more lunch-style dishes. If you're after some great coffee you can't go past Circa, I haven't had a better one in Parramatta, and they're up there with the best in Sydney.
