Fabulous place for brekkie. Thought I would go with the unusual Dirty Bird Benedict. Harissa hollondaise sauce? Fried chicken? Polenta sage slice? Can't say I have ever tried that combo, but I found it delicious. Fried chicken was flavorful (couldn't place the flavor of the crumb coating)- and so moist! The poached eggs were more soft-boiled doneness- which I actually prefer. Huge portion to satisfy anyone, and for a reasonable price. In all, a delicious unique brunch meal.

Look, just don't over think it. It's the infamous kimchi waffles every time. Take the plunge, you won't regret it. Such tasty food, smooth coffee that was good and strong even as a large. Happy staff and nice mix of couples, groups and all configurations of families. (I mean it about the waffles).

For breakfast and brunch on the weekend this spot is amazing - you've got indoor and outdoor covered and its big enough that you don't get the same waiting that you do at some other inner west cafes(sometimes there are lines now ). The breakfast menu is yum - they use brickfields sourdough and everything was spot on. The coffee is perfect - some of the best going around. For lunch : take your appetite. They have a bunch of healthy sounding offerings that I know are good, but the kimchi waffles are where it's at. Prepare for an afternoon nap - because you're gonna need it.

Great coffee, lovely decor and good service. I had the dirty bird which look flavoursome on my plate but it was bland. I'm quite disappointed with my dish. My friend had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and she says it was nice. I might come back but just for coffee.

This converted warehouse on Victoria Park Road Marrickville, might be hard to spot from outside but make it a plan to find it. It houses a cafe which a coffee enthusiast dreams about. There are a few outdoor tables as you enter from the street, then you move inside to a coverted warehouse space with coffee paraphernalia. One counter where the machine is (and some amazing looking cronuts) and other coffee making devices are set up. Beyond this are a number of tables for you to enjoy a meal. We were seated then perused the menu, interested to expand on our limited knowledge beyond an espresso, macchiaito, latte and cappuccino. With a plethora of choice, I went with the V60 pour over. This method involved the pouring the coffee over a grooved ceramic funnel like cup and filter paper. The barista, showing his skill, has this method down to a science weighing and timing the process, making for a nice tasting filter coffee. We also ordered a latte, a nice cup of coffee topped with some latte art, I was suitably impressed. Foodwise, there were many options that took out fancy such as the burgers or chicken and waffles and they also had a few healthier options which we went for on this day. We chose the brunch plate and the chicken and roasted cauliflower salad. The chicken cauliflower salad with chicpea, watercress and zucchini had fresh clean flavours. The Brunch plate was nicely presented with great ingredient combinations of smoked salmon, beetroot paste, avacado watercress as well as some falafel zucchini fritters, served with a lemon wedge and house made labne. We were impressed by the salmon which was house smoked with apple wood, the labne also made on site. The falafel had a crisp crust with a moist centre. Marrickville, delivering another good cafe in roastvill which serves up good food as well as coffee. The service is friendly and the barista is very passionate and has a great knowledge of coffee. If you love your coffee, add this cafè to your list.

I wanted to like this place from the moment I walked in, continuously looking for reasons why it couldn't be as am good as it looked. Guess what, it was !!! Food great, service awesome, coffee splendid. Fingers crossed it stays that way and they don't change their attitude as it gets more well known

This is an Eastern European inspired/infused cafe. Meaning that the food here is great. If you don't know what Eastern European food is like, trust me, it is meaty goodness. Now, they also serve the stock standard breakfast and sandwiches, but don't shy away from the different - as that is the best thing about eating here. The Corn fritters here are great! But don't go past the huevos rancheros, seriously worth the try. The coffee here is good, not great, but good. But this is not the reason that you come - you come here for the food. They do a special if you order one of their rolls (get it is with the spiced tomatoe sauce) and coffee takeaway, so that is always an option.

Was told this place won the world best gelato in 2014, so have to check out this place. Luckily we…read morecame at the dinner time so there wasn't a line out the store and down the street as warned by the locals and reviewers here. The gelato was creamy and light, so it delivered the flavor but not too heavy that sat in stomach. We ordered the award winning flavor - Mandorla Affogato (a twist of Affogato) which has bits of caramelized almond within the creamy vanilla background. I didn't get a strong espresso flavor as it would have, but the ratio of almond bits and gelato was just right - occasionally crunchiness hidden within the creaminess of gelato. The second flavor we ordered was the poached strawberry with balsamic vinegar. The acidity from balsamic vinegar and strawberry was muted yet complimented the gelato base. It was not too sweet, yet there's a hint of the balsamic vinegar and strawberry. We were too busy getting into the gelato before taking a picture, but check out this place if you are nearby. Here are some pictures of the store, which also offers coffee and cakes.

We got lucky because after we waited to order, there was a huge line behind us. They have a variety of ice cream flavors plus other items on their menu like cakes and teas. The staff was very patient with us as my sister wanted to order a milkshake which is different in the States compared to Australia. My sister wanted to make sure that what she expected in a milkshake would be understood and reciprocated to the staff. Even though they don't normally make a milkshake like the States do, they did their best. I enjoyed my ice cream and it was perfect to end the night.

We literally followed our noses (just like our beagle) and found it. It was late in the day, we had already had lunch but the smell was just too good so we had to order. There was very little left in the cabinet and we ended up with a Beef Brisket Pie to share. OHHH MYYY GOD! Possibly the best pie I have ever tasted, I cant say eaten because I literally got 2 bites - my husband pretty much devoured the whole thing within minutes. So happy to have stumbled across this little place and will be back for sure. **After reading other reviews of this place and it's sister properties, I feel it's important to note that I have been living in Sydney for less than a year and at the time of writing this, I had not heard of Bourke Street Bakery, nor did I know that other locations existed**

The muffins are crispy at the edge, and gloriously fruit-packed in the middle. The varieties of sourdough bread are stunning, and always deeply delicious. Look, if it's breadlike and you can bake it in an oven they do it best here. Their coffee is exceptionally good too. It's warm and welcoming, with tables and colouring materials for kids (it's popular with families). There are outdoor tables for smokers, or for sunny days. I was psyched when I came across a deal for Hakiki--reading the great reviews on Zomato made me even more excited to try Turkish ice cream. On my last full day in Sydney, I was visiting Newtown and just couldn't wait to come here. My friend also told me great things about this place while on our way here, so I was even more excited. It's obvious this place is pretty new but has been a hit and I can see why. There are lots of Mediterranean-inspired flavors, such as Baklava, Mediterranean Mint, Turkish Delight, and date ice cream, this place easily stands out if you're looking for a sweet treat in the area. I had a scoop of the Melon & Feta and Mango & Coconut and I really enjoyed both. Both were very fragrant, and though I never thought of melon ice cream and feta cheese as a combo, having cheese in my ice cream was definitely something new (and something I don't think I'd like again), but the Melon ice cream was very delicious and perfect for a summer day. I also really liked the Mango & Coconut, especially the coconut flakes. The texture of the ice cream was really something--thick, stretchy, gum-like that is like no other. Try it for yourself--you'll really like it! Plus, the owner was very nice and gave me no problems redeeming my voucher.
