That was not only bland looking but tasted bland. The bacon was good! ‍Overall, the food was nothing exciting AT ALL. For the amount of money we spent, the food was a D+ at best. Thank god we could bring in our own desserts!! The worst part of this whole event was NO ONE ever contacted us to see how our event was! How were the staff? How was the food? How can we improve? Could we have done anything to make the day better? Etc. etc. ----THAT'S what you do in customer service! A business should follow up. I did try contacting the owners (via googling to find their names), left a message and again, NO RESPONSE. WOW. They took the money and ran!! So, on that note, I will not recommend this place to anyone. The event coordinator was very firm the entire time---you can't do this, you can't do that----and EVERY time I talked with her she repeated herself constantly . She kind of took some of the joy out of it. I took one of my friends to see the place (who was hosting with me!) and Stephanie was cold and not the least bit friendly. The ambiance was a cross between modern dance club to a wedding reception like environment. It a bit deceiving looking at the building from Highway 183 from the outside as it looked like a big warehouse building, very indistinct. I asked for updates all year and was told every time "they're not done yet, but don't worry, it will get done by your wedding day," Spoiler: that did not happen Ceilings aside, there were good and bad things about this experience. On the day of the rehearsal, my foot fell through a rotten plank of wood and they immediately remedied that which was amazing. Our advisor was very kind and helpful throughout the experience and answered our endless questions. The day of the wedding, however, our advisor was not scheduled to be working, so he was not there and the only staff who were there had not met us before and, due to a language barrier, had a very tough time communicating our needs. Several things went wrong the day-of like no electricity in the ceremony space, tables and chairs incorrectly laid out (several guests had nowhere to sit), and those ceilings were still unfinished (also wasps live in the insulation and attacked one of my bridesmaids). We brought up these concerns to our advisor and never received a response. Like, for weeks. We followed up. Nothing. Then, we get a check in the mail which IMO was not for enough money, but still no communication. It's like the customer service relationship immediately ends on the day of the wedding. Just bizarre. If they ever fix these ceilings, I'd say book it and ensure that your advisor will be working the day of your wedding.

This was actually our second choice of venue, but only because they didn't have a package deal (we had to find a caterer, florist, etc) and it's kind of remote, so we were worried about guests finding it. The dressing rooms have a back door, so I could sneak out to discuss logistics with my partner behind the scenes without looking unromantic.

After that message, we never heard from anyone again. No follow-up call, no acknowledgment of the situation--complete silence. Keeping a full $3,400 while refusing to even reply is unacceptable business practice. If you're a couple researching venues, be very cautious. Verify every refund and cancellation term in writing and assume that once Angel Springs has your deposit, you may never hear from them again if things change. The property is beautiful, but the way they treat customers is not.

The Giraffe barn is attached to one side of the house, and their pasture is on the other side. It is the most fabulous "Barndominium" with incredible finishes and clearly thoughtfully designed. That experience alone was mind-blowing.... however we also had the Gold Packages and were able to experience everything the ranch had to offer! Zebras, Capybaras, Kangaroos, Otters, Deer, Homer the Dromedary!!! Everywhere you turned there were more animals and more experiences offered. My children and I were in absolute animal heaven and will be thrilled to return. I will say, our vacation was expensive and it did not disappoint. However, I do believe you can absolutely visit this ranch on a budget.... Probably one of the best experiences was their ranch safari and that is a nominal price and totally worth it! You can see the entire property and all of the animals on the safari trip. Additionally they have fantastic cabins that are themed, and if you have children under the age of 10, the pirate themed cabins are beyond your wildest imagination.... as far as I am aware all of the sleeping accommodations include kitchens so you can absolutely cook for your family instead of paying for the delicious ranch food. That said... Chef Alan is phenomenal and out of this world excellent chef. Each meal was made with love and artistry. The staff at Blue Hills Ranch all go above and beyond to create lasting memories for you. I absolutely recommend this experience as a NOT TO BE MISSED event! We are already planning a return in October/November depending on availability . Cannot wait.
