I like So Cal wings, I do, my impression of their wings have not changed since my first review. But every time I call in an order, the whole process is clunky - we can't hear each other, there's a lot of background noise, etc. Today when I went in to pick up my order, I realized why phone orders are so difficult... They do not have a landline, the number you call is a cellphone and they answer it on speakerphone. BUT the problem is, if your order is over $50 they will ask you for payment up front (that sounds reasonable, to make sure you don't flake on the order) well.... NOPE. That means you are giving your credit card number over the phone and ‼‼ ANYONE ‼‼ inside the restaurant can hear because ‼‼ YOU ARE ON SPEAKERPHONE ‼‼so just beware, if you know you're going to place a big order (or if they ask you for payment first) just go to the store to order your food so that your credit card isn't compromised. I'm disappointed in their practices when I noticed this happening. In other news though, we got the blazing wings with no batter (this apparently takes longer to make, not sure why...) and it's a good heat, leaves your lips tingly, and very tasty flavor. read more

06.15.2019 Came here because hubby wanted chicken wings for Father's Day after his day of bike riding and golfing. Yes, we celebrated Father's Day today (Saturday). Hubby found this place and it was conveniently near Mile Square Golf Course where he was playing golf. H was all in because her Dad could get his wing fix AND she could get some boba. This small chicken wing place is in a small corner plaza that has a liquor store/market and Mexican restaurant. We arrived and the place was empty. The girl employee was nice to explain some of the flavors and items we had questions on. Everything is pretty much fried except for some bowls or special items. We ordered a 20pc. Family Meal that had 20 pieces of wings (1/2 original dry rub, 1/2 buffalo sauce), 2 large side orders (we got fried mozzarella and fried zucchini) plus an order of fried salt & pepper shrimp (heads on). Hubby was hoping the food sucked so it wouldn't be a place he would crave since the place is not where we normally pass or drive through. Unfortunately for him, we LOVED everything!!! The family LOVED the wings and inhaled all of the buffalo wings and a couple of the original dry rub. We took the extras home and they can toss it in the wing sauce we have at home. According to the family, the wings were "FRIED perfectly and the buffalo sauce was good." My fried salt & pepper shrimp were pretty delicious! After they were lightly battered and fried they were mixed with some sautéed onions and green onions. I ate some shrimp with the head (and peel) on and I peeled the rest. The shrimp were fried well and were crunchy enough you didn't have to peel them if you didn't want to. I dipped it in the ranch dressing and it tasted good with it. I think next time we're going to try it with the house special sauce which the girl explained was like a sweet sauce with garlic. Duly noted! But we may need to have some rice to eat it with. Which they do have on the menu. I think the sides were all frozen pre-made items but truthfully, they were fried well so they were pretty tasty. The zucchini sticks were small cut sticks (about 4" long), almost the same size as the mozzarella sticks. It's funny but hubby and I agreed the zucchini sticks tasted better than Farmer Boys' zucchini sticks. The girls ordered a Thai Tea and a strawberry smoothie, both with boba. Little O's smoothie was good. H's Thai Tea was very good, not too sweet. The boba was fresh and soft. We know this place is a drive for us from home but it is definitely worth coming back for. Rounding up from a 4.5. It's in the back of the corner of a building structure, unassuming wing joint that is serving up a plethora of items from their menu. Parking can be a bit of an issue though. My favor I was the boneless wings in lemon and pepper sauce. I will definitely be coming back for that. My husband's chicken tenders were gigantic. There's no rub or sauce on the chicken available for the tenders but you can get an order of sauce on the side. The cheesy tots were great, we had a small order and we split it amongst the three of us. My friend ordered wings, chicken fried rice, and onion rings. I was craving some wings so my friend recommended this place, So Cal Wings, to me I gotta say that this place is now my go-to spot/favorite place to get wings. To start if off, I love the wings here. I tend to like wings that bigger/fattier pieces and are drenched in sauce. And that is exactly what you get at this location. I have tried quite a few flavors and I have not really dislikes any of them. I do tend to order these flavors a bit more than other: garlic parmesan, house special, lemon pepper and honey BBQ. I believe their prices are fairly reasonable especially with the wings pack and on Wednesday they have a deal. The customer service was good and there was really nothing to complain about, so I think they deserve 5 stars. At this specific location I really like the drink Aloha Surprise (I believe that is the name, although I could be wrong). Side note: I did mention that I prefer fattier pieces, not everyone has the same taste. So if you do not like thicker, fattier pieces, this place may not be the place for you. I have had some friends tell me that they think the wings here taste a bit soggy, so like I said might not be for everyone. I would still give it a try though. read more

Typical wing spot with amazing variety of flavors. My personal favourite is the lemon pepper. It's not the dry, crumbly rub you'd get a like wingstop; it's better. I also got a decent amount of the small fries. My only gripe is the boneless wings are more like large cubes of chicken that's quite dry compared to the juicy bone in wings.
