Bottom Line Up Front: Chick Roll (AKA Chick Flag AKA Chicken Roll) is a hole-in-the-wall that specializes in chicken wings, chicken sandwiches, and (surprisingly enough) sushi rolls. The food quality is good, not great, but it gets bonus points for good customer service and its "buy one, get one 50% off" offer on sushi rolls. The Food: We purchased a fairly large order for a family birthday celebration: 204-piece chicken wings, Combo #1 (more on this later), teriyaki salmon bento box, 2 rainbow rows, tiger row, and crispy rice tuna roll. We got the Korean wings in two flavors: original and soy garlic. Both were just OK because they were a little dry with limited seasoning, so much so that I couldn't tell the difference between the original and soy garlic. The Combo #1 came with chicken tenders, toast, and fries. The tenders were also a little dry though the batter was good. The toast was standard (wish it was a little more, well, toasted). And the fries were waffle style and flavorful, but lacked crispiness. The teriyaki salmon bento box came with a lot of food: the fish, rice, salad, and a box containing a dumpling, egg roll, and shrimp tempura. Everything was good, even though the salmon was a little overcooked. The best thing about the food were the sushi rolls. All four were rolls were substantial in size, beautifully prepared, and offered solid quality. Are they as good as going to a sit-down sushi restaurant? Of course not. But for a fast casual place, they were satisfying. The Customer Service: Chick Roll is run by an older Korean couple and they were so cute and friendly. A pleasant surprise considering I'm so used to getting subpar service at Asian restaurants. (As an Asian, I know lack of customer consideration is just a part of many Asian cultures.) Fortunately, these folks were fast, friendly, and competent. The Setting: Their little shop is located in a tiny strip mall at the northeast corner of the super busy intersection of Trask Avenue and Habor Boulevard -- which means it's hard to access, especially during peak hours. In fact, you can only access the parking lot by going north on Harbor or west on Trask Avenue. Plus, parking inside the strip mall is limited, too. The Conclusion: The different names for the same establishment is a little confusing (probably due to change in management?). And despite having "Chick" in the name, their chicken wings and tenders didn't wow me. But their sushi rolls (and the BOGO 50% off offer) are worth a try, while the warm customer service definitely helps. My true rating is 3.5 out of 5, but since I can't give half-stars, I'll round up to an even 4 out of 5 stars.
Restaurant caught my attention as I drove by it getting off on Harbor, the 22 freeway and decided to check them out. Since day 1 I've been getting chicken bowl that's $9 and it's definitely 5 stars! The nice lady at the register, I assume she's one of the owners, is so nice and makes sure I need anything else if I'm taking my food to go. It's not as busy which I like and the restaurant is clean. Definitely recommend coming here for a meal. Plus they have daily specials!! :)
Went here a long time ago when they first opened for chicken. Really good chicken. Back then the price was really good too but they've since increased that unfortunately. Oh well. Still good though. Came back here for their poke. They just recently started doing fish I guess! Surprisingly, I gotta say that is some good poke! It's also really huge and they don't skimp on anything. They put all the usual poke stuff into one giant plate and give lots of stuff in it!
First of all, the outside says Chick Roll not Chick Flag. But please come in. This place has been here for a year and 3 months. The service was amazing. The rolls were incredible. I had a Scallop Roll and a Dragon Roll. They are buy one get one half off. I couldn't resist. I highly recommend them. The music was a good touch to the place. The dinning area is kinda small but they do orders to go if needed. I will definitely be coming back. They have other offerings other than Sushi Rolls but that was a great start.
First time back at Chick Flag since they added sushi and I am impressed! The staff is as friendly and welcoming as ever. The space is clean, casual, and inviting. Tried the Rainbow Roll and Salmon Lover Roll. Loved the BOGO 50% off deal. Food came out fast and every bite of sushi was fresh and delicious. Definitely one of the best sushi spots in the area. I will absolutely be back soon!
Chick flag is a great place for wings! They also have rolls and ramen if you're in the mood for something else though. I really liked the honey garlic and soy garlic wings. It was a great sweet and savory combo! The Chick Flag fries were 11/10 though. Imagine animal fries from in-n-out except better because it's loaded with chicken. The service was very kind and excellent! It's such a nice place to eat because there's enough seats for small groups. It's a small store, but it's clean and decorated cutely.
I am on this Korean fried chicken kick and gave Chick Flag a try. It is apparently a fairly new location and likely a good discovery. Overall pleased with the meal we had. Small parking lot but in a low traffic shopping strip, never a struggle to park here from what I have seen. Soy Garlic Wings: The flavor gave me mixed feelings at first but grew on me pretty quickly. They used the perfect amount of sauce for the chicken and every bite maintained excellent flavor. Snow cheese KBBQ wings: The employee's description did not match what I was tasting, but I worked past that. I will say these were pretty awesome. I cant really describe the taste, but they will be what have me coming back. I feel like for what we paid, there could have been a little more to the plates. Then again, I am new to this style eatery, so my mind may change. The music being played was ghetto, so it kind of countered the outgoing and colorful atmosphere in the restaurant.
Ive bought food and hung out in the spot from time to time but when I paid $21 DOLLARS FOR A POKE BOWL I expected it to be somewhat good. No. I got 10 pieces of salmon and more salad than rice. If I am paying that much for "poke" I expect to ACTUALLY get poke. This is crazy.
run by a very sweet old couple they have a big menu and theres so much to choose from. id have to go back and try the other stuff rolls were bogo 50% off at the time i went so that was a big bonus and i liked that tuna crispy rice was included in the deal :) we got medium spice on the chicken sandwich definitely couldve gone hotter
Lovely service. I had sushi bc I came here on my lunch break and they have the deal of buy one roll get one 1/2 off. I took the manager's suggestion of the dragon roll and red mango roll. Both were big portions and good flavor. She was also so sweet and gave me a free red bean ice cream, I think because I took her suggestion of which rolls to order.
The food was great and made with love but the best thing about this establishment is the workers as they take care of you while you are here and make you feel right at home. The food was very flavorful and the specials they offer are very generous compared to most other establishments. I highly recommend you come and show them some love if you are nearby the 22 freeway exit on Harbor.

I've lived .3 miles away for two years and finally tied tonight and I can't recommend the sushi. If you're familiar with a place like Sushi Boy or any other weird chain sushi shops, this is on par with that. The fish on the rainbow roll was not fresh and the tempura on the crunch roll items was almost batter like. 3/10 on rainbow roll and crunch dragon roll. Very nice front counter woman and it seemed clean inside. read more
I found this little hole in the wall on Yelp. I came to Chick Flag on a Friday to grab some food with one other person. I believe the outside of the spot is called Chick Roll not chick Flag. It wasn't super busy when we came but there were two other parties there and some people who came to order for take out. Chick Flag specializes in wings and sushi rolls. They also have a variety of other items on their menu including bowls and katsu sandwiches. I got some wings and a bowl of ramen to share. I got their 8 piece hot spicy soy wings which were fried hard (without asking). They were pretty good. The person I came with enjoyed the original wings. The ramen we got can be made with meats or without meats. We got ours spicy but you can get it without spice. It was good and had some veggies in it. But nothing crazy good. It was a nice side item to have with us. They also had some jalapenos out on the side if you want to grab some yourself. The inside of the restaurant is super casual and not very big but they have tables and chairs for you to eat your food. The staff is incredibly nice. Boss lady came out with some complementary fried shrimp tempura type foods for us to try. That was really nice of her. The food here is very affordable and right now they have a BOGO half off of any rolls. I do want to come back and try their other items. Parking is easy since they are located in a small strip mall but the turn in and out is a little tricky since its in such a congested area by the freeway. read more

I'd get the chicken wings again, but the K-pop food trend is tired and I don't think they executed it well. And the actual restaurant needs a lot of work. I think the actual staff need some direction because they seemed confused themselves. I'm thinking the girl at the front is the owners daughter but she didn't really speak English all too well. I think they're Chinese but attempting Korean food...it was awk. The chicken wings were solid, but everything else was strange... read more

Food is fresh, friendly and quick service. We got beef ramen, crunch dragon, and baked scallop roll. The rolls were fresh but had a lot of sauce for my preference so if you don't like it with too much sauce, ask them to put less. The beef ramen was good but was basically your packaged ramen noodles cooked up with beef bulgogi and vegetables. For the price it was good and had a good amount of beef in it. Small mom and pops store with good parking for the strip. read more

Definitely a yummy hole in the wall restaurant! There's a good amount of seats to enjoy your food and the staff is extremely helpful. We ordered the snow cheese wings, 2 tenders combo, and the slider and tenders combo. The food came out pretty fast and I would highly recommend the wings and the fries/waffle fries. It was super crispy and there was a light seasoning on the fires that name it soooo addicting. It was my first time trying snow cheese and I would definitely get it again!!!! Overall super yummy and I would highly recommend. I can't wait to try this other items! read more

Came to the grand opening today! Small parking lot but luckily there was no line when I came. We we able to get bogo for today but normally it's fairly priced. Our cashier was super sweet and friendly! The food came out about ~20 min with a few people's order ahead of us. My first bite was the fries and wow I was so delighted. Perfectly crispy and addictive with their Cajun. The tender chicken was so juicy and flavorful but I wish it was a little crispier. The snow cheese chicken was such a fun flavor. It reminded me of cheese chicken in Korea. So come here for a taste of Korea! The wings esp the flats were so crispy and juicy. Shoutout to the owner too! This place was creating some buzz so decided to come check it out during its grand opening! No lines or anything, probably about three other parties here with us. PARKING: A small-ish lot, but even during grand opening it was easy to find a spot. WHAT WE ORDERED: * Combo 1 ($11) * Combo 4, medium spicy ($14) * 10 of wings, snow cheese ($13) *Noting that we came when it was BOGO but adding the regular prices above for reference. FOOD: Fries were pretty standard, maybe not the same texture as McDonalds but the same shape and definitely better seasoned. Not sure what seasoning they use, but it really went will with the waffle fries too! The snow cheese wings were our star of the show, the sweetness really went well with the crispy wings. Definitely appreciate the toasted bun on the sandwich, but I will say the chicken breading was a little less crispy than some other places. But still pretty good. The chicken tender breading was also not the crispiest, but the seasoning was great and chicken was still juicy! The orange sauce they give you was definitely sweeter and not as spicy as Canes sauce, but still pretty good. SERVICE: Food took about 20 minutes to come out from the time we ordered. There's a little condiment table with a bunch of different condiments as well in case what they give you isn't enough. And water that you can grab yourself. Staff were nice, and very cool and collected despite the commotion of the grand opening. VIBES: Also a small ish space but 5 tables that can seat 6 each so ample space. BOTTOM LINE: Food was great, but I'm sure it'll get better as they get settled. I'll have to come back and see! read more

I was intrigued by this place since it had Nashville spicy chicken sandwiches and also Korean fried chicken. It wasn't crowded at all when we got there and the staff was helpful when we had a couple questions about the menu. They offer canned soda, but there's also fountain soda. Combo 2 - slider, regular fries It was okay, I expected the hot spice level to be a lot spicier, but it wasn't. I felt like it lacked Nashville flavor. The chicken was crispy and juicy. The highlight was definitely the fries, they were made fresh and were very good. It comes with pickles in the sandwich and a pickle spear on the side as well. 10 piece wings soy garlic The chicken wings were crispy and juicy, however I wished the soy garlic had more garlic. The sauce was mainly just sweet, not much else. Would probably try another sauce next time. Recommend dining in so you can get these wings right as they come out of the fryer. Kimchi fried rice Had a good amount of kimchi in the rice, which I appreciated. It wasn't spicy at all. The portion size was a little on the smaller side. read more
