He is incredibly patient with me and always takes time to clear up any confusions I had. One thing that sets Terry apart from other tutors is how he goes above and beyond for his students. He is always available to help and offers extra support even during late hours. If you are ever struggling with math, Terry is the one. He cares a lot about his students and always provided a supportive learning environment. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, kind, patient, and supportive math tutor!

Really good experience. Almost all tutors are the same: teaching and answering questions, but Terry…read moregoes beyond that to give deeper explanations to questions and concepts, something I haven't seen in many tutors. The pace of lessons are tailored towards the student; if a faster pace is preferred he can do that, and he really excels in helping those who want to understand how and why everything works together. Very patient in explanations and works to make sure the student understands the concept. Not only that, but he stays up late helping students with math and answering questions past midnight. He cares about his students and I'll definitely miss his classes as I'm off to university. There are many math tutors, but Terry is the person you go to for an in-depth understanding of coursework. Highly recommended for calculus (my experience) and everything else.

I can say with total confidence that Ms. Raven is the most responsible teacher I've encountered…read moreacross all the after-school programs we've tried. Her dedication is unmatched. Why This Program Stands Out: Personalized Progress Tracking: Ms. Raven tracks every student's progress weekly and personally calls parents to provide updates and listen to any feedback or suggestions. Shift in Attitude: My child went from hating math to actually being willing to attend. The "Reward System" they have in place is very effective at keeping kids motivated. Self-Paced Learning: Students can work at their own pace, which gives them a great sense of freedom and reduces pressure. Curriculum Balance: The material is a mix of what they are currently learning in school and new concepts they haven't seen yet. While it doesn't strictly follow the school's timeline, it keeps them challenged. No Homework: Perhaps the best part is that there is no extra homework to bring home. For a child who is already resistant to math, this is a huge plus. Ultimate Flexibility: They are open Monday through Saturday, and you can drop in at any time. There are no fixed class slots, which is incredibly convenient for a busy schedule. Bottom Line: If you are looking for a supportive environment where your child can overcome their fear of math without the burden of extra homework, I highly recommend this place!

All the counselors at Lee's Review have been so helpful in guiding me through the process of…read morecollege applications! I truly would have been lost and utterly confused without them. They were extremely experienced in the entire college application process, going over small but important details I never even knew existed. Personally, I think what differentiates them from other college counselors is that they support you through every part of the application process, even the ones that seem minor, and they also take a lot of care to make sure you understand what you're doing and why you are doing it. However, they do not do any "hand-holding" with students, meaning you are ultimately the one who completes every part of your application and makes the important decisions, while the counselors at Lee's Review serve as highly skilled advisors. Mr. Lee also proritizes your future path instead of just trying to get you to go to the most highly ranked school for the name, which I found very admirable. If we're just looking at overall stats, they helped me get into UCSB, UCD, UCI, UCSD, UCLA, USC, and NYU. To future college applicants, I would recommend starting with them as soon as possible because they will also be able to help guide you in building up your application's foundation that way. In retrospect, I started with Lee's Review pretty late, and I still feel very satisfied with how things turned out.

Sylvan Learning has been such a helpful support system for my daughter. We first came in because…read moreshe was struggling with homework and reading comprehension. Sylvan started by doing a full assessment and then walked us through which program would best fit her needs. We began with homework help, but after seeing her results, we switched to their reading comprehension program. She now attends twice a week, and they focus on helping her understand what she reads--things like cause and effect, main ideas, and writing at a 5th‑grade level. One thing I really appreciate is that they even reached out to her school teacher to get a clearer picture of where she was academically, so everyone is working together. Since starting, my daughter has grown so much. She actually enjoys writing now and is slowly building more interest and confidence in reading. The small group setting works really well for her, and I love that Sylvan does monthly check‑ins with parents so we always know how she's progressing. Overall, Sylvan has been a great experience for our family, and I'm grateful for the support they've given my daughter.
