The swelling, lumps, discoloration, and contour irregularities have been present continuously since the original treatment and have been documented throughout the past eight years by multiple medical professionals. Shortly after the filler was placed, I sought evaluation from a nationally recognized injector and trainer who diagnosed malar edema and advised that the filler had been improperly placed. This was my first experience with tear trough filler or any filler. Since then, I have consulted numerous injectors, vein specialists, and oculoplastic surgeons, all of which is documented. Contrary to your statement, there is extensive published discussion within the aesthetic community regarding the long-term complications of tear trough filler, including persistent swelling, malar edema, Tyndall effect, migration, and filler remaining detectable years after injection. These are recognized complications and not claims I have invented. I have never stated that this experience was a "new" problem that suddenly appeared after eight years. I've had several moles removed throughout my life at different dermatologists, and I'd say that the…read moremoles removed by Dr. Shafa have produced the best results. The lady at the front desk is very kind and helpful with the check-in process, and the other lady that was assisting Dr. Shafa with my removals was also very kind. She provided me with extra bandages at the end of my visit which were nice to have because of my latex allergy. Dr. Shafa was also very kind, talked me through everything, and made me feel comfortable as she removed each mole. I followed her instructions and it's been roughly 2 weeks since I got my stitches removed. The areas that I had moles removed had been healing very nicely with very minimal discoloration in the area. I've been rotating between using the Aquaphor she recommended and silicone scar patches, and it's been healing very quickly. I have my 6 week check-in with her later this month, and I'm looking forward to seeing how much it fades by then. I also had a mole very close to my eye, and my mom had to ask me which eye I had my mole removed because it was done so well she couldn't see any scarring or discoloration. I'd say I wish I had gotten these removed earlier, but I'm thankful to have gotten them removed at Oc Med Derm with the skill and technology from Dr. Shafa. First came to Dr Norman Ge for a consultation on my hearing loss I suffered…read more12 years ago and he was honest and provided me with valuable information and didnt try to sell me any services because he knew there was nothing he can do for me since so much time has lapsed since first losing the hearing. Then I had another issue 2 years later with a hoarse voice and remembered that Dr Ge is an ear, nose and throat dr, so I knew I had to come back to him. From the initial appointment, Dr Ge was able to provide me with a diagnosis and scheduled me a surgery to remove a polyp in my vocal chord (didn't even knew that could happen prior to speaking with Dr Ge). Was some great information and sure enough went through the surgery and everything came out perfect, my voice was back to 100% and Dr Ge was able to walk me through the procedure in the follow up appointment. Really great dr who can provide you with insightful information and does not hide anything. A wonderful surgeon who is able to take care of business, all while Covid was happening. I am thankful for Dr Ge, as he taught me a lot as well as healed my voice. His office arranged to have me seen by Dr. Kosins immediately. Dr. Kosins identified the problem which was an encapsulated breast implant and was able to have me scheduled for surgery the following week. I was very skeptical about undergoing surgery because I have severe sleep apnea and a vocal cord paralysis. Dr. Kosins provided me with words of reassurance, which gave me the confidence to move forward with the procedure. The surgery went forward without any complications, and my pain decreased significantly. Now it is totally gone. Dr. Kosins was very knowledgeable about complications with breast implants and handled the situation brilliantly. I am very pleased with my results. His office staff is also very friendly and professional. The post operative care provided by his staff was top notch. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the outcome of my breast augmentation and with the level of follow-up support afterward. I had surgery on May 5, 2025. Around 4-5 months post-op, I began noticing significant asymmetry developing. By the time I returned for my follow-up appointment in September, the issue had already become very noticeable. At this point, I developed capsular contracture on my left side, causing the breast to feel hard, tight, and unnatural. On the right side, the implant dropped significantly lower than the left, creating visible asymmetry and uneven nipple positioning. I also experienced poor scar healing around my right areola, with the scar remaining thick, raised, and persistently itchy nearly a year later. To be fair, Dr. Kosins did acknowledge the asymmetry during my September appointment, discussed revision options with me, and his office provided information regarding the Allergan warranty coverage. I understand capsular contracture is a known risk of breast augmentation surgery and not necessarily the result of negligence. However, what left me disappointed was the lack of continued follow-up and support afterward. After the initial discussion regarding revision options and warranty information, there was no further outreach, follow-up phone call, scheduling assistance for next steps, or even scheduling of my one-year post-op appointment/check-in. As a patient navigating an upsetting complication less than a year after surgery, that absence of communication left me feeling unsupported and alone in the process. I never expected perfection, and I understand complications can happen with any surgery. But when complications do occur, communication, reassurance, and aftercare matter just as much as the surgery itself. Patients deserve to know not only how successful outcomes are handled, but also how they are supported when results do not go as planned.
