We decided to stop in on the way back to pick up bottled water and a couple other things for our hotel room. I stayed in the car while my husband did a quick run in and out. He reported that the store setup seemed weird to him and he spent a lot of time looking for the maple cookies. Cashier was friendly, he just thought the layout of the store was confusing. Hard to comment about the prices because of currency in Canadian and we are from US so everything seems so much cheaper. Posted sign says 2 - 24 pk water for $5. That would be $3.66 U.S. Dollar! Or $1.83 per 24 pls.

I often pick a odd thing of meat up here (and it is usually pretty darn swell) Check it out, and if you are in need of a haircut or coffee they are also just around the corner and very, very close. I know where everything is and don't often get lost. Everything is open and convenient. The staff is usually friendly and very helpful. My only complaints are that they don't have as much local produce as they did years ago and wish the bigger chains would start allowing more local farmers to sell at their closest locations. It seems better this year than last since they launched a local produce campaign, but I still don't feel like it's at where it used to be or even should be. Especially with the local markets. I also don't like having to wait months for an item I use frequently to be restocked, though this has only happened a few times and has since seem to have changed for the better and hasn't happened recently. My last and biggest complaint is the deli. We buy sliced deli meats directly from the deli counter and it seems if you go for service there almost what seems anytime after supper (more so anytime after 7) that they can't serve you because they've cleaned and shut down the machines for the night. Isn't the store open until 10 now?? I can appreciate and understand areas closing down for 9pm, but 2 hours before so I should still be able to pick up my shaved black forest ham and sliced angus roast beef. All in all we usually try and time for the deli and still enjoy going to this location.

Actually I've been starting to think that Sobeys is doing much better with regards to their selection than their western competitors..especially in the organic/alternative department and with their gluten free products.. I have no idea how they compare price-wise to other chains in Canada; I can only compare prices to equivalents in the U.S., and they were pretty good. Then again, it's tough to find slab bologna and whole cooked lobsters at many chains in the U.S.

Attached to Sobeys, as most NSLC stores…read moreI've seen, but in a very large retail complex which would allow you to to get all your shopping/groceries done in one go. I am not a fan of the way you have to move from the Sobeys to the NSLC once you have done your shopping. If you have more than a couple of bags of groceries from Sobeys then you can't go into the NSLC without ditching your cart, which often means having to leave, stash your groceries in the car (good luck if you don't have one) and then go back to the NSLC. Kind of a hassle I think. On the other hand they have quite a good selection here.....comparable to some of the bigger NSLC stores in the HRM. Be sure to catch their wine events where they feature a particular wine from a particular region. The store associates are friendly, and if a certain item isn't stocked in that particular store in Sackville, they will call around, or use the computer to find other locations that do carry what you want.
