There is lots of parking, both underground and outside the premises. The basketball court looks very new with shiny floors, high ceilings and is well lit. I didn't notice any paint fumes while there that others have complained about. Half court ($80 per hour) and full court ($120 per hour) rentals are available with advanced booking. Drop in use of the basketball courts ($15 per person) is from 3-10pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. They have membership pricing for pickleball and table tennis. Early bird discount prices ($5) for pickleball from 8am to 10am, with prices ranging from $10-$15 the rest of the day.

If you are watching any hockey games from the stands, Chesswood isn't the best for that. The audience section is levelled as the rink with seats near either one end or the other of the rink. You can't exactly have a full picture of the entire play in a top-down view. Regardless, the arena is still equipped with an equipment store, changing rooms, washrooms, food and drinks booth, and benches to sit around until games finish or for parents waiting for their kids. Keep in mind there's no glass windows for spectators to watch beyond the rink, so people must get inside one of the four rinks.

For example, this year (2017), the venue hosted the WTA tour while Montreal hosted the ATP. Next year it will switch around. This was my second time visiting the stadium for the WTA, and just like the first time I enjoyed my visit here and the matches I got to see in the semi-finals for the women. In terms of the stadium it's a nice venue overall. Clean and well-kept, so no complaints there, however, if there is one area I think could be improved upon greatly it would be the concession prices. There just way to high in my opinion and I will gladly always wait to eat outside the stadium versus inside. I'm sure that won't change anytime soon, but it's worth noting nonetheless.

The arena itself is right in the heart of downtown, so the whole area around it already feels super alive before you even walk in. There's people everywhere, jerseys, food spots nearby, and just that pre-game energy that makes it so fun. Inside, it was packed but in a good way, like full energy, loud, exciting, everyone already hyped before tip-off. I had seats in the 300 level and honestly I don't even think that's a bad thing at all. The view from up there is actually really solid, you can see the whole court properly and the energy from the crowd feels even more spread out and intense. Service-wise, everything was pretty organized. It was busy, so lines and movement around the concourse can get a bit crowded at times, but nothing unexpected for a Raptors game night. Once you're settled in your seat though, it's smooth and you can just focus on the game. Overall, I'd 100% recommend going at least once if you're in Toronto. It's not just about basketball, it's the full experience: the crowd, the energy, the location, and just being part of that atmosphere. Even from the 300s, it still feels like a really good seat. Definitely one of those experiences that's way more fun in person than on TV.

This sports centre is Canada's largest municipally owned and operated recreation facility. It's huge, as it houses six arenas. Many hockey teams are here to practise and play, including the Whitby Wildcats. It also has two indoor pools. BarDown Gastropub is great if you want to grab a bite to eat before or after a game. Our group wasn't here for sports, so it works for lunch and dinner. The food is excellent. It also houses the largest screen in Whitby to see the latest sports games. Since the City of Whitby owns this property, it has a contract with Pepsi. You get Pepsi products at concession stands, vending machines, and BarDown Gastropub. There are banquet and meeting rooms that you can rent. It also has a pro shop to get your skates sharpened and athletic training facilities. When it's warmer outside, this place has six tennis courts, five baseball diamonds, and a soccer field open. It's huge here. There is lots of parking. It's free. I was here with friends on a Sunday afternoon. This sports complex is open every day from 8:30 am till roughly 8:30 pm. If you have a water bottle, you can fill it up at the water bottle fill-up station. It was nice checking this place out briefly. It's cool and a valuable asset to Whitby and beyond. (79)
