The owners are incredibly nice, and their selection of homemade preserves, jams, mustards, and pickled items is incredible. Their apple cider was also delicious and so refreshing. They were even giving out samples, and honestly, you can't leave without taking something home! The quality is amazing, and you can truly feel the love that goes into everything they make. They are open every day. Farming and running a shop like this can be a thankless business, and most people don't realize how much hard work and expense goes into it. My boyfriend and I(both latino) went up to Oak Glen to celebrate our anniversary. On our way down the mountain, after enjoying other locations, we stopped by Mom's Country Orchards where I had visited with family as a child growing up and had no issues that I can recall. Today, we were "greeted" by a silent glare from a woman at the register(Red flag #1) while I smiled at her, thinking nothing of it. We then walk around the left side of the store and another couple (who were caucasian) walked by the same woman who glared at us(also caucasian), greeted them and offered hand-cut samples of gala apples with a smile on her face. Glad to know she was capable of smiling. We were following shortly behind this couple and received no offer from her while while we were looking at apples sitting next to her(Red flag #2). We then make our way to the back of the shop in the honey section and there is a glass display with a gentleman right behind it, working the counter. I'm standing right in front of this man, looking at the flavors of honey they offered, and he looks right through me. He greets and offers free samples to the caucasian couple right behind us, acting like we're invisible(Reg flag #3). We left immediately after and did not want to give our money to this business. I have never felt so unwelcome or discriminated in a place where just down the street, in the Oak Glen Mountain Village, everybody was so kind. Mom's Country Orchards need to be better than this.

They're known for their delicious donuts, but there's so much more to enjoy! One of the cool things is that you can sample different varieties of apples before deciding which ones to take home. They also have a great selection of wines. Peach Perfect and Black Bear were two of my favorites. I was hoping to grab Red Tractor, but unfortunately, it wasn't in stock this time. For you pickers, you can pick your own raspberries and apples for a small fee. It's a great place to slow down, relax, enjoy the scenery, and spend some quality time with family.

They price these sodas at 2/$5.00 or a 4-pack for $8.99. Here is my issue. They stock the shelves as single bottles with none being stocked in their respective 4-pack carton. Every time I'm getting rung up at the register, I ask them about this. I let them know I'm purchasing 4 and should get the price that is clearly tagged on the shelf. It's a literal fight to get them to honor their pricing and at least 90% of the time they will not sell it for the price THEY HAVE TAGGED ON THE SHELF. I've walked out several times leaving the product at the register. The last time this happened, I asked to speak with the manager on duty. When I told her of the situation (and that it happens repeatedl) she apologized and asked me if I could call the next day and talk to THEIR employee to straighten out the situation. As if it's my job to take care of their poor business practices. I'm not a manager there, and I'm not on their payroll. It's their job to rectify the situation, not the customers. If they don't want to honor their pricing, great, take the tags off the shelf. What they need to do is train their cashiers to honor the price clearly tagged on the shelf. That would take all of 2 minutes to accomplish. Another thing they could do is clipstrip some flattened 4-pack holders right there hanging on the shelf (by the tag that clearly states the 4-pack price). It's a very easy situation to rectify. Its not my job, as a customer, to do it. The employees have such a bad attitude when I'm discussing the situation with them. I don't enjoy shopping here. So I don't anymore. As a consumer, I vote with my wallet.
