The main reason we go to this market is for their selection of Maine Root soda. They have a great selection. If my review stopped here, they'd get a great score. They price these sodas at 2/$5.00 or a 4-pack for $8.99. Here is my issue. They stock the shelves as single bottles with none being stocked in their respective 4-pack carton. Every time I'm getting rung up at the register, I ask them about this. I let them know I'm purchasing 4 and should get the price that is clearly tagged on the shelf. It's a literal fight to get them to honor their pricing and at least 90% of the time they will not sell it for the price THEY HAVE TAGGED ON THE SHELF. I've walked out several times leaving the product at the register. The last time this happened, I asked to speak with the manager on duty. When I told her of the situation (and that it happens repeatedl) she apologized and asked me if I could call the next day and talk to THEIR employee to straighten out the situation. As if it's my job to take care of their poor business practices. I'm not a manager there, and I'm not on their payroll. It's their job to rectify the situation, not the customers. If they don't want to honor their pricing, great, take the tags off the shelf. What they need to do is train their cashiers to honor the price clearly tagged on the shelf. That would take all of 2 minutes to accomplish. Another thing they could do is clipstrip some flattened 4-pack holders right there hanging on the shelf (by the tag that clearly states the 4-pack price). It's a very easy situation to rectify. Its not my job, as a customer, to do it. The employees have such a bad attitude when I'm discussing the situation with them. I don't enjoy shopping here. So I don't anymore. Gerrard's Market is the ONLY store within a hundred mile radius that carries the absolute best (and my all time favorite) potato chips - Roots! It has a super comfortable, old style feel and is well organized and easy to navigate. It's a small neighborhood market the way they should be but they still have a great range and selection of products. The staff is friendly and they had an awesome meat counter area and even some seating outside which was really convenient. You should definitely patronize them if you're in the area and/or drive way out of your way like I do because they know how to carry the very best stuff! read more

Came home last night from vacation so tired of eating out but didn't want to cook. Love that Gerrards has home cooked food ready to go. I was in the area and was able to visit this market for the first time today. I have seen their post on TikTok and was wanting to try some items from their hot counter. The Thanksgiving dinner was fantastic! Fresh roasted turkey, nice and moist with cornbread stuffing and mashed potatoes and a roll. Nowhere else can you get a dinner like that for 13.99! I also bought some pulled pork and mac & cheese. I couldn't resist getting a pot pie, it was a very hearty meal. All of it looked good. I'm anxious to go back and try the prime rib and tri-tip. I couldn't believe how much variety they had. I also purchased from some local bakers, sweet Clementine pies were amazing! I tried the blueberry and the peach. I also purchased English muffins from Hat Trick bakehouse. I will be having those tomorrow for breakfast. It was nice to bring home affordable home-cooked meals my family enjoyed. Today my wife Kelly and I picked up some red leaf lettuce, heirloom tomatoes and a couple of beautifully ripe avocados all for a salad to accompany the smoked beef ribs Gerrard's had smoked today. The salad was one of the best we'd had in a long time and the beef ribs completely delicious. Gerard's is a wonderful market! A true hidden gem. It's in a beautiful neighborhood, the store is clean and inviting looking with lots of local vendors offering their items there, so it's a cozy feel. The fresh foods that they prepare daily is wonderful!! I love their on site smoked whole chickens for FIVE dollars each, and their fried chicken reminds me very much of Knott's Berry Farm, soooooo good! You can't beat the prices, some stuff is a bit pricier but their deals are great! The people that work there are just the kindest most informative people and it is on my bucket list to meet Tom! So as usual on Saturday mornings we head to Girard's to get some pastries for the weekend today of course did not disappoint they have started selling donuts which are super good as well as the normal cookies and pastries that I have come to love however driving home my partner said to me we could stop at Gerrard's for a sandwich in the deli they are custom-made sandwiches with boars head meat the service was excellent and of course the entire staff is friendly the manager was filming a YouTube video which was pretty cool I had met him earlier in the morning in the parking lot telling him how amazing the store and the staff is if you get a chance go to Girard's for a custom sandwich I personally had just simple turkey and provolone on a roll but I will be definitely back for another sandwich not to mention kettle chips are included with each sandwich and they're fresh and tasty. read more

I tried things from the hot deli in the back. Honestly the tenders were super salty the chicken pot pie was very bland. It needed more flavor and the potato pieces are a little too big. The sandwiches though? So good. I will be back for that plus those house made chips!! They have an extensive selection of sodas. Some I hadn't seen in years. They are a great hole in the wall market to find unique food brands. BUT please beware of the fresh foods. I've gotten a burrito and orange juice from there with mold. Two separate occasions. I took my mother in law to the Loma linda urgent care and needed a place close by to pick up takeout. I found Gerards by looking on Google maps. I also heard about it from my co workers. They're supposedly known for their meats. This place was a pleasant surprise. I'm all about supporting local businesses and this place has been here awhile. It's in a residential area of Redlands. They are a boutique market. The have fruits and veggies for sale. They even had samples of white strawberries. It was pretty good but I didn't want to spend $5 on strawberries today. They have cookies for 11.99 a pound. They have just about everything grocery related. We ended up getting their sandwiches for 12.99. You fill out a Form and put it on the counter. The lady behind the counter then makes the sandwich for you. There is only one lady. She made 4 sandwiches while I was there. It takes so much time so beware. They use Boars head deli sandwiches. I ordered the veggie sandwich. She was nice enough to pile on the alfalfa sprouts and fresh avocado but the alfalfa sprouts overpowered the whole sandwich. It was just Ok. 7/10. I honestly like Subway better than this, sorry to say. I dunno that it was worth 12.99. You don't even get a side with it. Next time, I would come for groceries but not the sandwiches. read more

There is an old lady that works here with a grey bun and thick rimmed glasses. She's often seen at the cash registers. She is very rude and condescending. The limited interactions I've had with her, she has an attitude and does not seem to be in the best mood. Her attitude is off putting, which is a shame as every other person that works here is helpful and a delight. I've had many interactions with her without actual incidents, but I think it's best to let the public know, in order to prepare themselves for poor customer service. read more

Excellent choice of items. Butcher shop is old fashioned with cuts of meat to your request. The ground chuck is superb. Grocery items are of very good quality. Some prices are actually cheaper than Albertsons. Example; Hereford Brazilian roast beef in a can is only $6.99 while at Albertsons they charge $11.99 for the same item. The bakery, deli, and wine library full of varieties. Gerrards has improved 100% since last year. The check-out cashiers very competent...just like the old days. read more

Gerrards is a quaint and charming market featuring local artisans and a great booze selection. BE CAREFUL when purchasing "normal" items- check the Best Buy dates because sometimes they are expired. I've had this happen to me twice in the past few years. Most recently, cheese that had an August 2025 Best Buy date on it when I purchased it in November 2025. I don't have to check at Staters or Albertsons, so didn't even think about it. I only checked cuz the cheese looked a little "off" when I went to slice it. It's not my first-stop grocery store, but I do like their Hammond's chocolate bars which I get a few times a year. read more

I had such a fun time coming to visit this neighborhood store in Redlands. I had seen an Instagram post about their buy one get one deals for meats. At my house, we love steak, so we had to come check out their cuts. The grocery store is cute and is a pretty good size. It was founded in the 1930s, so it has that old timey retro vibe. With all of the produce being local, their fresh pressed juice, and hot foods like their chicken drumsticks, there's a lot of good finds. Next time I'll try to come earlier because there weren't many cuts of steak left close to 7:45 pm. I did end up getting ground lamb, which was a super good deal. read more

Every time visiting this store me and my daughter always have a wonderful experience. The total environment is so welcoming from the staff, to the location especially being nestled in a family community. My daughter loves the large variety of sodas and drinks, their treats and desserts and lemonades. Me and my mom also love their bbq and practically fly there whenever they have. 3.5, on average I'm a long time customer of Gerrards, and there are many things I appreciate and like about it. It's a wonderful niche establishment and I think that's their strength-it makes a lot of people overlook the store's other inconsistencies. When I go in I'm not looking for pantry essentials but for something different and special, usually for entertaining, and for that I'm never disappointed. And it's not surprising that basic items may be more expensive when many are picking those things up in addition to specialty items. I would say changes made over the past couple of years (more floor space dedicated to beer/wine/alcohol, extensive shelf space for prepackaged bulk items like candies, nuts, sodas, prepared foods) aren't what I'm personally looking for so I've stopped going in as often. The meat/butcher department is very good-they are knowledgeable and will do what you request (ie cradling prime rib, etc) Cheese selection is on point. The owner is very nice and seems to try and address any issues with staff or food quality, which seem to have improved from years past. Holy heck they're so nice to the middle schoolers that descend upon them before school and after, waiting for their parents to pick them up. If I could make one observation it would be they try to be a lot of things to a lot of people. Maybe they should focus on the strengths of what makes them unique and simplify a bit-so that important details like freshness in the produce and sell-by dates can be closely monitored. read more
