I reached for the door and it seemed lock, and inside I saw a stocky gentleman on the inside give me the "hand slashing the throat" sign. I think he was going for the two handed "we are closed" sign but hadn't quite mastered it. Through the window I said "are you open? Did u accidentally lock your door an hour early?" I got another "throat slash" hand signal rebuttal :( I said "I really just need a wash, not even drying after, and you're still open for an hour." You guessed it, he just gave me another "slash your throat" gesture. It was beginning to feel like more of a monologue than a dialogue, and since his next move was to initiate a one-way staring contest at me through the window, I thought it would probably be an opportune time to leave. So I tossed my stocky friend a thumbs up and headed on over to Durham Cleaners and Laundromat, because it was open and there were no hand gestures and staring contests involved. Needless to say I won't be going back to Bull City Suds. All my stocky friend had to say was "hey brother, it's an hour before closing, and it looks like your not familiar w/laundromat etiquette, (I'm really not) I'm sorry I couldn't help you out, but we are open these hours tomorrow." Instead he acted like a grade-A creeper. I'd avoid this place like the plague. Unless you enjoy one-way staring contests with strange men.

So I packed up and made my way to WaveMAX. From the moment I opened the door I was super impressed. I've been to a handful of different laundry mats in my life and this is hands down one of the top ones that I have ever been to. I immediately noticed that it did not smell of stale laundry and water that most do. You know exactly what I am talking about. I was greeted by Dana, a very friendly and knowledgeable worker that could tell I was a little out of my element. She quickly started helping me and relocated my laundry to the smaller washers to help save some money and explained EVERYTHING to me. She walked through each step with me. She showed me how to get my laundry card to pay for the machines and how to reload my card. She showed me how the machines operate and which dispensers are for my liquid detergent or dry, etc. I mean she was detailed and very helpful. She was amazing. She clearly knew I was lost and did not make me feel stupid at all. The machines at this place are very updated and clean. When you get your load card to pay, you attach your phone number which allows you to receive a text to your phone when your load is complete from washing or drying. I had about 6 loads so it even gave you the washer number or dryer number. Super helpful!! If you are trying to find somewhere to do your laundry I highly recommend this place! Dana is awesome and the place is clean and new!

Usually around fourteen to sixteen if I'm doing my linens. I like that they have free INDY Week. Clean, they have drink and snack vending machines, which can be nice. I've never had to wait for a machine over the month and a half I've been going. Only complaint I have is that the app they use for the machines is a little wonky, particularly with the dryers. If you don't use the app it's quarters only -- I don't know how typical that is for laundromats, but when the machine is six dollars to run, that takes a while. I've never used their dry cleaners, unlikely that I'll ever get the chance to.

The…read morefirst time I dropped off some clothing items for dry cleaning (jeans, shorts) I was given a one-week turnaround time. There was no special care required for the jeans other than a request for laundry. It was not during any holiday or shutdown time. How ridiculous!!! Secondly, the laundromat is primarily frequented by minorities which is why I think the owner isn't concerned with repairing so many of the machines that have been unoperable for several months. After frequencing the facility for nearly a year and still seeing the same washers and dryers out of order, I inquired with the manager on duty as to why the machines weren't repaired timely which would speed up the wait time during peak hours? The woman became offensive and lied and stated that one washer cost $50,000 to repair. Now, we all know that is not true and most laundromat facilities rent the machines and there are service agreements in place for repairs. As well, I usually frequent the laundromat at night and the floors and machines are not always clean, despite staff being present but usually in the office with the door closed and on the phone on personal phone calls. The onsite manager was so offended by my timely repair question that she became unruly and unprofessional and then talked about my inquiry to a hispanic employee who decided to pick up the unprofessionalism and challenge me also. At the end of the day, my money matters and I choose to spend it where I receive good customer service and feel valued as a customer.
