Dr. Bae does my exams and recommended a crown replacement based on what she saw on the X-rays. She was not pushy and patiently explained to me exactly what she was seeing on the X-ray. I decided to move ahead, and they pre-authorized with my insurance and gave me a pre-pay discount, so I knew exactly what I was going to need to pay. She was very patient and gentle throughout the procedure. So far so good with the new crown! The offices are clean, modern and well located with a parking lot just next door (and street parking in front) - however it is metered.

I went for a consult at Natich Family Dental and met Dr. Bhalla, their oral surgeon who recommended I have them all pulled. The experience was absolutely horrific. My expectation was either full sedation or at least gas. When I expressed that, I was told "well, this is how we do it." I was led to believe it would be "fine." It was NOT fine! Never should you do a procedure like that on an adult fully awake. I think I left in shock. Covered in sweat, shaking and white as a sheet. I will forever tell everyone I know not to have their wisdom teeth pulled as an adult and if they do, to go full sedation. I also called and sent pictures about a concern I had and Dr. Bhalla couldn't be bothered to call me back. I'm also mad at both my dentist and the surgeon for encouraging me to have them out at all. The top one had a cavity - that's what started it all. I ended up removing 3 perfectly healthy teeth and one that had a small cavity and really just needed a filling. If given all the info and if I could go back in time, I would NEVER have agreed to this course of action. It feels barbaric and like the whole thing was just to get money rather than taking care of patients.

To my surprise, Dr. Sunners then asked his assistant to help putting in the crown. I was lying down flat on the dental chair, and the assistant was holding a metal tool with my mouth wide open. The nightmare began. The metal tool that the assistant was holding slipped straight down to my throat. I was horrified. I was fortunate that I could cough out the tool to avoid a disaster in the E.R.. When I texted Dr. Sunners the day after letting him know what a horrific experience I had, he responded lightly and responded that his assistant was very competent instead of apologizing to me. A Treasure in the Suburbs…read more I believe that we should take advantage of the rich resources where we live - and because Boston is known for its fine culture, outstanding universities, state of the art medical facilities and innovative dental procedures, I have always opted for doctors and dentists (and shopping excursions!) in the city. That changed when a Boston dentist referred me to Dr. Mario Gatti. I learned the hard way that a general dentist is not the one to go for a crown or implants because it is not something he does all day and does not have the extra training needed to become Board Certified. I was also told that Dr. Gatti specialized in implants as well so I decided to give it a shot. I called Dr. Gatti, at his office in Natick, Chang Dental Group and scheduled an appointment. From the moment I met Dr. Gatti, he made me feel extremely comfortable as he patiently listened to my complex dental history. He thoroughly discussed the various options he felt were appropriate and after much time and consideration, he suggested that I should go home and think about the options he had presented to me and he would put together a treatment plan that he felt would best meet my needs. He allowed me to take a deep breath and never put any pressure on me to make a decision. He also gave me his cell phone number and told me to get in touch with him at any time if I had additional questions or concerns as there was much information to digest. This in and of itself spoke volumes about his integrity and concern. I had brought my daughter with me as a second set of ears and he welcomed her questions and concerns. His professional demeanor was quite impressive as were the credentials on his wall. Board Certified Prosthodontist, Oral Surgeon, and Implant Specialist all wrapped up in one, plus the convenience of being in the suburbs and not having to drive back and forth to Boston gave me a lot to think about. We scheduled another appointment and I did take him up on his offer to address any concerns before that appointment. I can tell you that Dr. Gatti has a brilliant mind, hands of gold and a compassionate heart. His gentle technique and expertise in prosthodontics, surgical procedures and implants are second to none! His assistant, Pam, is an added bonus! I whole heartedly recommend Dr. Gatti and am so thrilled that I found him!
