I went to Dr. Sunners to have my crown put on last week. I was sitting on the dental chair, and the chair was put in the flat position. To my surprise, Dr. Sunners then asked his assistant to help putting in the crown. I was lying down flat on the dental chair, and the assistant was holding a metal tool with my mouth wide open. The nightmare began. The metal tool that the assistant was holding slipped straight down to my throat. I was horrified. I was fortunate that I could cough out the tool to avoid a disaster in the E.R.. When I texted Dr. Sunners the day after letting him know what a horrific experience I had, he responded lightly and responded that his assistant was very competent instead of apologizing to me. That is a very unforgiving incident. I will never go there again. read more

I went to him since I was literally a small child. As an adult he kept having me go in for cavities but they weren't even cavities. He ended up breaking my tooth the last time I was there. I went to a new doctor in Wellesley and haven't had a cavity since. Dr. Sunners does work on teeth that don't need it so he makes money. I've taken very good care of my teeth my whole life and for him to overwork my teeth and break it , when I trusted him- it's horrible. Do not trust him read more

There are no words to describe my heartfelt thanks to Dr. Sunners and his staff for taking care of me. I'd highly recommend Dr. Sunners to anyone who sincerely needs a dentist who really cares about his patients, listens to your concerns, takes time to evaluate your overall health, then works with you to provide the best options. After my first visit, Dr. Sunners actually contacted the oral surgeon immediately, then texted me over the weekend to update me, and even reminded me to have my teeth extracted on time. The fact is that I have tried my best to avoid any dentists in the past several years simply because I've never met any dentist like Dr. Sunners. I really wished I had known Dr. Sunners earlier. Unlike many dentists who always want to leap to extreme actions without knowing my health history and health problems, Dr. Sunners truly genuinely cares about his patients; he provides the best options, and will go the extra mile to assure his patients receive the best care. I feel so fortunate to have found him. When issues with my upper two front teeth reached the point that I was in constant pain, my teeth were sensitive to absolutely anything, and I even had headaches with light fever. Finally, I searched all the best dentists in the Boston area and found Dr. Sunners. Unlike my previous dentists, he noticed the issues with my teeth due to years of decay and previous poor patching jobs and recommended a different approach. I am very grateful for Dr. Sunner and his staff for taking me in when I was desperate; he truly went above and beyond for me. Dr. Sunners is excellent!!! read more

I've been going to Dr. Sunner for years and he's wonderful. Once when he was giving me a crown he asked me if I would be his patient (see photo). How sweet!, But seriously he's a very good doctor read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Sunners since 2009 and cannot say enough about the quality of care and comfort I feel when having any dental work done, and I have needed a lot. I had an accident as a child and my 4 front teeth were broken. I had many appointments with my childhood dentist and became nervous and fearful. Dr. Sunners is so gentle and easy going I am able to relax and actually look forward to dentist appointments! This man has given me back my smile! read more

Dr. Sunners' practice is the best of all approaches to dentistry. It's a small office where everyone knows and remembers you, but also a practice where significant investment has been made in leading edge technology and methodologies. The staff shows great care and concern, and there is a camaraderie and respect among them that lets patients know they're being treated in a supportive and team-oriented environment. From Erica and Gail up front to Darlene (hygienist) and Mirabella assisting Dr Sunners, the atmosphere is always loose and comfortable. Of course none of that matters if the care isn't good, but in this case, it's always been first-rate. I've had more than my share of fillings, jackets and crowns over my adult life, and have never had anything but a comfortable and efficient experience and very positive outcome. And as a bonus, Dr S is better and gentler with the Novocain needle than any dentist I've ever visited. Pain reduction is pretty high on my list of clinician attributes. I can't recommend this practice highly enough. If you've gotta go to the dentist, this is the place to go. read more

All the staff and Dr. Sunners were great. They were all very professional and friendly. Dr. Sunners, the assistant (Barbara) as well as the hygenist explained step by step as they took care of my teeth. So no surprises! I will definitely recommend their services! read more

My husband and I have been going to Dr Sunners for years. Having been dental-phobic since my high school days, l am pleased to say that I really like seeing this dentist--he's experienced, professional, friendly and truly cares about his patients. Last Friday he went out of his way to fit in an appointment for me as I had a toothache. Then he checked in with me by phone on the weekend! read more

He as a dentist is great and I do not have any complaints about any of his staff whether it be his dental assistant, hygienist or front end staff. Dr. Sunners he knows his patients and will advise if you have issues. Overall a great bedside manner. He seems to hire people that know their job and are sensitive to the needs of their patients. His front end staff know their jobs also I have never had a problem with them either. The only time I had an issue was with insurance not wanting to pay for a procedure done. Dr. Sunners knew and did not want me to be charged for something I should not have to pay for but it took over a year of fighting myself and Dr. Sunners vs the insurance company after writing a letter to my company HR they must have spoken to this big insurance company and some how they called Dr. Sunners to state they would pay for services rendered. read more

Here's what you need to know: Dr. Sunners and his staff were fantastic when I came to them to get clear braces for my teeth. Dr. Sunners explained the entire procedure, gave me all the costs UP front so that I knew exactly what I would be spending (and let me tell you I was amazed how reasonable it all was) and I was in and out in less than half an hour. When my braces came in ...he spent time checking that fit was proper and explain any questions I had for him. NOW that is service ...with a straight smile! read more

Excellent care for all procedures by thoughtful and caring professionals. I highly recommend Dr Sunners.

I have been going to Dr Sunners now for about 5 years. I could not be happier with the level of dental care he and his staff provide me. They are friendly, explain everything in advance, and provide the best dental care in Metro West. I would give Dr Sunners 10 stars if I could. Scott, Natick read more

Excellence is the norm at Dr. Sunner's dental office. I had an old crown installed decades ago from a previous dentist that did it its job well but unfortunately my hairline and my gumline are both are receding and because of this, the tooth root beneath my crown was exposed and, lo and behold, decay formed and I had a cavity. This meant removing the crown to get to it and then replacing the crown with a new one. News like this is indeed disheartening but Dr. Sunners and his trusty assistant made this process as pleasant as possible. It took a couple visits to rectify the situation but I am fully confident that the new crown will last several decades, perhaps as long as the new roof we just put on. Now, I have peace of mind and I can forget about this and move on to greener pastures. I am sincerely thankful that Dr. Sunners is a perfectionist and my teeth may be the most perfect thing about me. Thank you James! read more

Dr. Sunners is personable, thorough, professional. He is an excellent dentist! I have quite of few dental issues and he was patient and took the time to prioritize the work that needed to be done, I can not recommend him highly enough!! I just had two crowns completed and his state of the art work has produced excellent strong crowns! read more

Dr Sunners is one of the best doctors that I have ever known! He is very kind, calm, approachable and listens to each and every concern. He always made me comfortable during all dental procedures involving filling and crown fitting. He is not only a good doctor but also a good human being. He was in constant touch with me over the weekend regarding a toothache that needed immediate root canal. He made sure that I was able to get the earliest possible appointment with an endodontist. Kudos to Dr Sunners ! I would definitely recommend Dr Sunners for anyone who is looking for a new dentist. read more

I have to say, without exaggeration, that seeing Dr. Sunners has changed my life. I hadn't gone to a dentist in about 35 years because of my severe phobia so my teeth were obviously in bad condition. My wife finally convinced me to see her dentist, Dr. Sunners. When I first got there my anxiety was through the roof. My first appointment was just for a consultation. After just a few minutes I was almost completely at ease because of the demeanor of Dr. Sunners and his staff. Dr. Sunners has a good sense of humor and is very compassionate. He told me what needed to be done was completely sympathetic with my phobia. During my next appointment he stopped to tell me exactly what he was going to do during the procedure. There was no pain at all that I remember as a kid. Admittedly, my wife came with me for the first few visits to help ease my anxiety but now I can go alone although I can't completely shake my phobia. I've had extensive work done and felt almost no physical discomfort. My teeth look a hundred times better and I can smile with confidence. I would highly recommend Dr. Sunners to everyone, especially those with a fear of dentists. He definitely knows what he is doing and he's a great guy overall. The people who work with him are just as great. I wish I had seen him years ago. read more

I recently became a patient of Dr. Sunners and have had a wonderful experience. Thre friendly and professional office staff is genuinely interested in providing excellent service. I had a problem with one of my tooths, and Dr. Sunners took outstanding care of me, providing detailed explanations of the problem with close-up imagery and thoroughly explaining each procedure. I was pleasantly surprised when he followed up to ensure everything was alright the following day. His office e has provided excellent care, and I highly recommend him to anyone seeking dental services. read more

I have to preface this by saying that I hate the dentist, and I am the worse dental patient. I have no tolerance for pain and I have sensitive teeth. That being said, Dr. Sunners makes the best of my least favorite thing in the world. He is professional, personable, and makes sure that I am as comfortable as possible. I've been a patient of Dr. Sunners for over 15 years now, and I currently drive an hour just to continue to be his patient. My father wishes he could still be his patient, but is unable to after my parents moved out of state (10 years ago). Still every time I go in Dr. Sunners asks me how my family is and makes sure that I tell them hello for him. I do have to say that I'm not the biggest fan of my current hygenist there, but I love everyone else who works there and I feel like I'm definitely getting the best dental care there is. read more

I was referred to Dr. Sunners to acquire a customized sleep apnea mouth guard. The doctor is extremely knowledgeable, precise, and communicates very clearly. I had my fair share of dentist visits in the past and thanks to some bad experiences have managed to develop a mild phobia. New to the area, I knew I needed to find a new dentist and hoped to find someone I could trust. I found it in Dr Sunners and his team. Dina the hygienist is thorough but gentle, and Daiga (hope I spelled it correctly) and Dr Sunners are a dream team in the treatment room. I had a small filling as well as an ill-fitting crown replaced. I have gained my bite back on both sides, a HUGE improvement in life quality and my treatments were painless. After each treatment I was checked on in the evening to make sure everything was okay. This level of care is not standard elsewhere. I can only recommend Dr Sunners and his team. A true gem in the Natick community. read more

What a wonderful Dentist Dr Sunners is. I didn't take care of my teeth when I was younger(kids take note!) and have over time had my teeth progressively get worse. I had sharp pains every once and awhile and ignored them. This past week I reached my breaking point. I had called Dr Sunners at 9am that morning and he squeezed me in at 2pm that day. Even though it was short notice, I didn't feel as if I was a bother to be there. After very quick xrays (very quck) he showed me the cause of my problem. With the type of work that needed done he referred me to a specialist which I appreciated showing he didn't to do attempt something he wasn't comfortable with just to make a quick buck. After I went to the specialist, Dr Sunners followed up the next few days to first see how the appt with the specialist went (which was amazing. Great referral partners) and then to inquire about my pain or lack there of. Who does that!? I will definitely be back for my routine work and xrays and what not. As I begin the long road to "recovery" if you will, I am glad to have Dr Sunners, his personable staff, and his fellow referral partners on my team! Thanks again so much! I recently started coming to Dr. Sunners and will never go anywhere else! All of his staff is amazing as well! My boyfriend and his family have been coming to him for years- and I know I will be too. He makes everything he does quick and as painless as possible- but also does what needs to be done. At Dr. Sunners they really make you feel great- and always make sure that you are comfortable. Something that I especially love is that they will send you text reminders when you have an upcoming appointment! Also I got a text the day after getting a filling to make sure that it was alright. So if you're looking for an amazing dentist experience (because let's face it- the dentist isn't always our favorite place to go) look no further! Go visit Dr. Sunners read more

I have been going to doctor sunners for years and I started going after not going to a dentist for 6 years. Every time I enter the office everyone is friendly and they make me feel right at home. Dr. Sunners is so spectacular he picked up the phone to answer tonight when I thought I was going to leave him a message at the office. He is seriously the kindest, hardest working, most meticulous care provider I know and he prides himself on patients feeling no pain, which is helpful for this patient who doesn't breathe so well through her nose, is anxious around needles, and is grinding every last tooth down to a pulp during this fabulous pandemic. He also has gone above and beyond to make sure his office is unquestionably safe during Covid time. He installed a state-of-the-art air purification system. I am so appreciative of how he takes care of my husband and me. He is one of a kind. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Sunners as a patient for decades, and I can honestly say I don't trust anyone else to care for my teeth. He and his staff are the most gentle, thorough, skilled professionals anyone could ask for. He is honest and serious about his work, so it is easy to trust him when he tells you what you need for your dental care. I tried seeing another dentist closer to my area once, it was such a terrible experience that I ran back to Dr. Sunners immediately. His chairside manner is gentle and pleasant, he's incredibly skilled, and he even convinced me to start flossing! I could not recommend him more. read more

I came to Dr. Sunners for the first time with a severe fear of dental work. The emphasis on patient care in his office is unmatched. You know the neighborhood medical and dental practices they show in movies, where everyone smiles, the appointments are pretty much on time to the minute, and the docs really seem to care about their patients? Well, that's what this practice is like, seriously. It's so surprising to receive excellent care and service in this day and age that it's worth a bonafide shout out. Let's start up front: they know what's going on. When you were last there. What you had done in your prior visit and what you need to be scheduled for next time. And they're very friendly and accommodating. Dina, the hygienist, is sensational - very thorough, very professional, and extremely, um, motivating. If anyone can get a recalcitrant patient to do a better job on his teeth at home, it's Dina. Dr. Sunners is a great dentist and an even better guy, full of hilarious and wonderful stories about jazz, baseball and Brooklyn. It's kind of incredible what this man knows, from the hysterically trivial to the genuinely fascinating, and because he has a captive audience, he is sure to share. As a practitioner, he is the best clinical skills I can recall in all of my years of doctor-going. Very gentle, thorough with explanations of the what and why, and really skilled in general dentistry. His staff is equally adept and caring. Cannot -- CANNOT -- recommend this practice highly enough. I drive there from Acton, about 22 miles, and it's so worth it. read more
