In the past thirty years, I've tried desperately to find a professional dentist. Twelve years ago when I had my first root canal ever, my old dentist and staff botched the novocaine so badly, (directly into my cheek at one point instead of the gums), that when they hit a nerve TWICE, the pain was so brutal I almost ripped the arms off the chair. A week later, my cheek was STILL sore from the novocaine and when I called to ask about this, the assistant said it was because "you're older, get over it." Naturally, when Sudbury Dental told me I needed root canal, I was dreading it for a week. After two shots of novocaine and only 45 minutes in the chair, it was so painless that when the doctor said I was all set, I was half asleep. My cheek was JUST SLIGHTLY numb for only an hour afterwards.This was my third time visiting them. I'll always be coming back here. A great practice.

After he retired a few years back Dr. Reina Garcia took over. Typically I would shy away from a new dentist due to poor previous experiences as a kid, but I am glad I decided to give Dr. Garcia a chance. She is just as friendly, gentle and approachable. Best of all the staff (Anne, Tracie & Evelyn) never changed and are still very friendly and receptive to questions. As of this review I have been coming here for the past 6 years for my bi-annual cleanings and check- ups. During this time, I have moved further and further away but still come back here every six months because I feel comfortable which is very important to me.

And when I went to checkout, they told me the fluoride application would be $45 since it wasn't covered by insurance. Additionally the fluoride was very grainy and sticky, and had an awful taste. They also ended up brushing some of it on my mouth/lips and it felt like a mess and very sloppy. Very disappointed at the "hidden costs" since it felt like a sneaky way for them to earn extra money. They provide you "additional services" which I didn't really need since my teeth have had no issues in years, and then you're forced to pay. I will not be trusting them for any future dental care. If they're the type of clinic that tries to find sneaky ways to earn extra money, who knows what future "concerns" or "problems" they'll find with your teeth that you may not really need. I also emailed them about my discomfort in having to pay for services that I didn't need and that they were not upfront with about the additional cost, but they didn't bother to reply.

The front desk now is incredibly rude and condescending. If you don't have the right insurance, get out, if you have a question, we don't have time for this. The last hygenist I saw was yelling at me the entire time, and telling me all about how much her life sucks. The hygenist I saw for many years who was amazing left the practice unfortunately. And when I first joined they were willing to work with me on a dental plan that works for me. Now it is aggressive treatment and pressure sells that requires X-rays every 6 months and deep cleanings. If you don't like it, I was told by the front desk to GET OUT. Ok you got your wish, good riddance.
