I switched from/stopped going to a previous dentist because it was too far away and used up too much of a day just for a routine appointment. Over the past year, I've had three major dental incidents, resolved amazingly effectively by Dr. Chau. The first two incidents involved lots of pain. In both cases, Dr Chau made time to see me quickly. Also in both cases, she resolved the problem quickly, permanently and relatively painlessly. The third incident mercifully did not involve pain. It involved restoring one of my front teeth -- it now looks better than new. Dr. Chau is a magician. She has invested significantly in technology for the benefit of patients. For instance, cleaning involves an ultrasound system that is more effective and more pleasant than the old scritch, scritch, scritch method. She also uses digital x-rays that expose the patient to much less radiation and produce images immediately, saving the patient time waiting in the chair while film is developed. The tooth restoration involved curing the bonding material with ultraviolet light. Near the ceiling, Dr. Chau has installed flat-screen monitors that she sometimes uses to show images to discuss issues and treatment options with patients. I've found that being involved in this process in this way has built my trust and confidence in Dr. Chau. When the monitors are not showing x-rays of teeth, etc., they display gently cycling images of orchids to create a calm and relaxing mood. Dr. Chau also employs some low tech, yet thoughtful, measures, such as large dark glasses so you don't end up staring into bright lights. Dr. Chau's staff is invariably friendly and very professional. They often go beyond their normal duties. For instance, at the last cleaning, the hygienist discussed my brushing technique, and suggested a brushing technique that would be more effective. Recently I had an infection that he discovered (after I complained of pain) below a lower molar and unfortunately I needed an extraction. He examined the surgical site a month later and reassured that all healed very well and the spaceI should receive a new implant well. Despite taking care of my teeth in adulthood, I have had many issues. maybe because I grew up in the UK in an area without access to fluoridated water. Despite all this, my teeth look and feel good and my gums are healthy.

And when I first joined they were willing to work with me on a dental plan that works for me. Now it is aggressive treatment and pressure sells that requires X-rays every 6 months and deep cleanings. If you don't like it, I was told by the front desk to GET OUT. Ok you got your wish, good riddance.

I spent 30 seconds in the check-in area to wear new gloves, new mask, have my temperature checked, then 1-2 minutes with the dental assistant getting me ready to be seen, 10-15 minutes with the doctor, and 30 seconds to get me out of the building from the backdoor to separate me from incoming patients. It was one of the best visits to a dentist, no time wasted waiting in the waiting room (by the way, there was no one waiting in the waiting room either). I was seen by doctor Alaa Alwazzan, who seemed prepared and aware of my case and medical history. He gave me an opinion that I didn't except because usually doctor's never say no to cosmetic procedures, so I appreciated his opinion. He recommended Invisalign treatment if I insisted to close small spaces between my front teeth. Two things that can be improved. 1. They don't accept insurances, however, they can bill your insurance but You will have to cover the remaining amount that your insurance wouldn't pay. 2. There are too many forms to fill out, some online and some on paper, maybe because I am a new patient. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, honesty and I think they deserve 5/5.

Typically I would shy away from a new dentist due to poor previous experiences as a kid, but I am glad I decided to give Dr. Garcia a chance. She is just as friendly, gentle and approachable. Best of all the staff (Anne, Tracie & Evelyn) never changed and are still very friendly and receptive to questions.
