My family were patients at Wellesley Dental for a year, and we consistently received excellent clinical care. Dr. Ali, Dr. Beheshti, and the hygienist team are professional, attentive, and skilled. Although the clinical care was excellent, a long billing dispute began in July 2024 when my insurer identified a processing error that billed my services as out-of-network rather than in-network. For seven months, Wellesley Dental repeatedly reported they were waiting for insurance paperwork to process my refund. My insurer sent seven letters and one fax to Wellesley Dental; I made six calls, sent seven emails, mailed a detailed four page letter, and participated in one three way call to resolve the issue. Despite our efforts, my refund was never processed. In February 2025, I escalated the matter to the state attorney general and local media. NBC 10 decided to investigate my dispute and contacted 42 North Dental (the parent company), and a refund check for $373.50 was issued on 2/27/2025. A few days after receiving the refund, a call with the regional manager provided a full apology and an explanation: mailed insurance correspondence went to an unstaffed payments PO box; staff failed to take ownership; and operational challenges across multiple locations caused systemic failures. The regional manager said the case was escalated and would be used for staff training. The story aired on NBC 10 Boston on March 19, 2025; search "NBC 10 Charged out-of-network rates for an in-network provider." I moved to the area and needed to find a group for our whole family. I was happy that Wellesley Dental could accommodate our whole family. The dentists and staff have been wonderful. Very friendly and gentle care. Very family feel from the whole team. They dealt with an issue I was having in a well-thought approach that worked great for me. They took care of our youngest who has nerves about the dentist with incredible care and new approaches to make him feel at ease through his first time with a small cavity. He didn't even he was having a "procedure". Front desk team is so accommodating and friendly. They helped me figure out my new insurance with no pressure to pay before I sorted it out. Just an incredible experience. Oh, and appts are always pretty smooth and efficient! So glad I found them. I feel like we are in great hands. read more

Beware! Mostly good dentistry but shady business practices and unwilling to fix or own up to mistakes. I was a happy customer at WDG for many years. Although it was very expensive, I loved my hygienist and they have all of the latest technology so it was worth it. I went through a year long invisalign treatment at the recommendation of the dentist and my teeth were much improved. I wore a night guard retainer for grinding but also to retain the work done by the Invisalign. About a year ago, I had a crown done and they told me to book an appointment to come and have the night guard adjusted since it wouldn't fit with the new crown. I did so and the dentist came in and quickly just cut my $500 night guard off at the point where the crown was with a pair of scissors and told me that was it. I explained that the gap in that area was one of the major targets of my Invisalign treatment as food was previously getting stuck in that gap and he just shrugged and said it was fine. Cut to last month. My hygienist noticed that the gap that was previously fixed was back to the way it was pre-Invisalign and booked me an appointment to come have it fixed. Their plan was a band-aid as the proper fix was to do a new Invisalign treatment. They wanted to use filling and add some to each side of the tooth to decrease the gap. I agreed to this as it was going to be much less time consuming. I showed up for my appointment and mentioned that I wanted to make sure I wasn't being charged since they were clearly fixing an error they made. Dr. Ali laughed at me and rudely said "Of course we are going to charge you are you kidding me?" When I responded with "Well clearly the other dentist shouldn't have just cut my retainer off in the most important area. That's really the only reason I'm here today" he replied with "If you can't scientifically prove it you will be charged. And you can't scientifically prove it". Wow. What a slap in the face to a loyal, long time client that has spent tens of thousands of dollars and referred many clients to his business. I was cheated and taken advantage of by my dental office after going in for a routine cleaning, and finding two cavities that required fillings during my cleaning, I was told that they found two cavities that needed fillings, and I would not be responsible for anything but the co-pay I also confirmed this when I made the schedule to come in for my fillings with the receptionist when I came in for the fillings another day I also asked I was told the same thing. I am very surprised to have received the bill for approximately $200 to pay for these filings. I do have a witness that was there with me for the cleaning, and also heard the same from the dental staff regarding my only responsibility to be co-pay for this service. read more

This office had me drive down very early march 2020 at a very scary covid19 world pandemic time. I spoke to the doctor Sunday am. I drove down for 9am Monday. i was turned away after filling out all the paperwork and waiting in the waiting office, bts no one had masks on, there was no mask wearing yet in public, we didn't even have information re: masks rly yet like now. There was a woman with 2 kids in the waiting room too. Basically in pjs. The doctors said this, unless I can charge $2,000 right now they will not see me. I was shocked. I said, I can and will put $500 on my cc and my dental insurance can cover the rest. I gave my dental insurance. At time I was out of work on short term, had been out since last Christmas, and for some reason my dental had gone inactive, I said have Blue Cross & Delta Dental, the young person at the office was like a drill sergeant, this person calls Delta Dental, This wellesley dental desk person says Your insurance stopped Jan 1 2020, this person is 20yo and Im over 50, this person starts explaining insurances to me, life lessons about bills, I said listen I have insurance pls help. At 9:30 I said listen I can do $500 right now ask the doctor, I DEMANDED front desk person ASK THE DOCTOR, i figure the doc will say YES, he's a doctor, I DROVE HERE, I SPOKE TO HIM. I figure this desk person is power hungry and the doctor will help me, he treated both my children but he said no send her home. If I could give zero stars I would! I scheduled Zoom whitening over the phone and was told the price was $500. I booked for both my husband and myself. On the day of the appointment, I waited for 35 minutes during which the two office personnel got into a loud, verbal argument which lasted five to ten minutes. It was a very uncomfortable situation. When I was finally called over to the desk, I was told that I had been quotes an incorrect amount when I booked our appointments. Instead of $500 for each teeth whitening, they were going to charge us $700. Despite their mistake, they were completely unwilling to budge on the pricing. I told them that I had also been quoted $500 from a different practice and therefore knew that $500 was reasonable. They wouldn't budge a dollar and let me walk right out the door. I'm crazy scared of needles and have very little pain tolerance. Due to some hereditary issues I need deep cleaning twice a year and I don't trust anyone but Drs Ali and Ali and their team for that. I have tried a few dentists which are closer to me but nothing beats the standard of care here. Such a friendly and gentle staff, I almost fell a sleep in the chair. One of my old fillings (10 year old, other dentist) went missing and they adivised me to go for a crown. This is what my previous dentist already promised me so it was no surprise. I thought of an implant but they told me this is not needed and more expensive. They explained all the costs and the process. During this explanation but also during the treatment they took all the time and we had a nice chat (with respect so not when your mouth is full with tools). No surprises in the bill nor in the process and very little inconvenience, I almost fell a sleep. read more

I'd put off finding a dentist nearby after moving, but finally bit the bullet (probably not good for dental health) and did a basic search on dentists within a couple miles of Wellesley Hills - my schedule necessitates keeping my appointments near my home or school - and the Wellesley Dental Group came up on top of the list. Sure, Google may just have liked that "Wellesley Dental" matched my search "Wellesley Dental" pretty... exactly... but the search and website perusal experience was as easy and pleasant as my in-office appointment. The web site makes big promises on comfort, care, skill, and technology, and Dr. Ali, the staff, and the office delivered all of it. Dr. Ali not only did a thorough medical history, but she also showed me (on their amazing video cameras and instant x ray machines!) what exactly was going on with my teeth, and with no waiting. Her exam was comfortable and kind. Furthermore, the X Ray technician was quick and skilled, the hygienist showed me how to floss *properly*, and the administrative staff were warm and easy to talk to. There was even a Keurig machine in the waiting room (though Dr. Ali came to see me right away - didn't even give a gal a chance! But I won't knock points for running on time). I care very much about my teeth - I realize how important they are not only to my vanity but also to my health. I have been recently recommended Drs. Ali & Ali's dental practice. I have looked them up online and was impressed by their website and the reviews, so I made an appointment for cleaning and a comprehensive exam. The lady on the phone was very nice and scheduled me to come in the following week. Going to the dentist is not really something you look forward to, I was nervous at first. The waiting room was very cozy, you could even have a coffee or hot chocolate while you wait! There was also this adorable kid's corner with children's books and toys. I didn't have to wait at all and went for the Xray and cleaning, which was quick and painless, Leyla did great! In general, everybody in the office was beyond nice and made sure I was comfortable. They even cracked some jokes to make me smile! That really helped to ease my nerves. My dentist, Dr. Ali, gave me almost a tooth-by-tooth explanation of my oral health status and an insight into how I can improve my smile and what that entails. I was so impressed, I have always wanted to have a thorough exam like that and finally I got it! The dentists I have been to before would only take care of my cavities, get some fillings done and send me off. It was so comforting to get a dentist who genuinely cares about your oral health and explains you how to improve it! Now I know what to plan for long-term - how to take care of some teeth that don't cause a problem now but might need work later, like my baby tooth I still have. I was recommended to see the orthodontist, and I was lucky enough to get in for a free consultation right there at Wellesley Dental Group, just a few days later. Dr. Emad gave me an estimate on the braces I need, the time it would take to fix my bite and looked into some issues I have with my jaw. He was very professional and thorough, as well. Dr. Ali told me I needed replacement of almost all my crowns/fillings, root planing, and 3-month periodontal maintenance. Over several visits, they replaced 1 crown and did 4 quadrants of root planing. Then, $3700 later and with much more work still to be done, I started to wonder. I believe that all positive reviews come from people who go to Wellesley Dental Group for routine check-ups. My experience with them was disturbing! These are the facts: 1. I have known that all-porcelain crowns are translucent and cannot be put directly on the metal abutment, but Dr. Ejaz insisted he could do it. During my treatment, after he took off my old crowns, he typed in his computer - Zirconia. 2. Dr. Femina has asked me to pay the total price of my treatment before it has started. I refused it, but I had to pay half of it to reserve the treatment (as they explained to me). Also, during the treatment, she has added a few thousand dollars to the total price without any explanation. 3. Dr. Femina has mentioned to me a dental technician who is a true artist in his field and works for them. I was not happy with my temporary crowns, so I requested to meet their dental technician. Then, Dr. Ejaz has informed me they could not find him. He left them, disappeared. 4. After almost two months, they offered me a full refund, but wanted me to sign a document that will protect them from raising a legal claim against them before giving the refund to me. My name is Lorenz and I just have to say that this dental practice is the best one out there. I can not say enough about this place but I can say without a doubt I truly enjoy going to the dentist now because of Wellesley Dental Group. All the Dr's are fantastic and so is all the staff from top to bottom. Just recently I had Dr. Barra do a cleaning on my teeth and after my appt he noticed I had a slight cavity and immediately fit me into his schedule and fixed my cavity in less than 15 min. They are so gentle with your teeth, I literally feel nothing and they work so efficiently it's amazing! But, I think the best part about this place isn't just that they are great dentists or that their staff is great at what they do. What makes this place truly shine is that they are good people. They are all kind and genuine to everyone whether on the phone or in person. I've seen instances of their kindness not just with me but with other people as well. This example is from January this year (a little old but it was pre-covid). I finished my appt and was walking to my car and I saw Dr. Barra personally welcome an elderly lady to the practice for her appt. He was kind enough to help her out of the car as she was handicapped and helped her up the stairs to the building. It's this kindness that you see from them all the time and I hope they all stay here forever because I honestly can not see myself going to any other dentist. Also, Dr. Ali always greets me by name whenever I have an appt even if she isn't the one tending to me that day! She just likes to say hi and check in on how I am doing and it just goes to show how much they care about other people! I went in extremely anxious, I hadn't been to the dentist is several years after having a terrible experience with my previous dentist. While I agree with other reviews, their bedside manner is particularly spectacular and I loved that they explained every single thing and took time to show me what they saw, I will not be able to go back. It's hard because I thought they were great....they just led me to believe they carried my insurance provider (which is supposed to cover 100% of the cost). Upon request of an initial appointment by me, this issue was broached and I was assured that all I needed was to provide them with my insurance information and everything would be taken care of. Of course as soon as my consultation is over (loving them already) I am sat in the chair to begin examination (bib on and tools out at this point) and I was notified that this appointment would cost me $90!!!! Sure, I could have gotten up and ran for the hills, but I let them go on with the cleaning thinking if I overpay for one dentist appointment in my life I will learn my lesson. I'm even more disappointed with the situation because I would love to go back, I just won't be able to afford it without being covered by my insurance provider. Now it's back to the drawing board. Being new in town it's hard to find good health care that you TRUST, I do not trust them even though they were great and I thoroughly think they are good at their job. Also, I was told to carve out an hour and a half for my first appointment, it was two and a half hours (my boss was not too happy with me). I'm very disappointed with the whole experience. read more

We are from San Diego covered by Blueshield of CA. My son (in college) went to this dental office and told him that everything will be covered by our insurance. They did all the un-necessary like prophyylaxis-adult and fluoride (which he had very recently in San Diego), X-rays... procedures and charged him $452. Watch for this dental clinic. For all those dental-phobic people like me, Dr. and Dr. Ali is the place to go. I just had 3 fillings done this morning and it was pain-free! Dr. Ali is very gentle and is very thorough with his work. The technology is the latest and sophisticated (from numbing devices to x-rays). Dr. Ali is fantastic! I went into get a crown after a root canal, and two appointments later, am all done, and have been in zero pain. The best part is the noise cancelling headphones, which are hooked up to Pandora, so you can listen to some of your favourite music while you're getting your dental work done, and don't have to listen to the bone-chilling sound of the drill. This is the only clinic where the reception has coffee for the grown ups, and toys for kids. Highly recommend going here for a fix for all your dental woes. read more
