However, every time I've gone, I've felt pretty rushed--like they're just trying to get through the session quickly and move on to the next person. My first time here after looking forward to it for while, but unfortunately it was a bit disappointing. I came for a soothing foot soak / leg/shoulder massage combo package, and the service itself was great. However, it was very noisy in our treatment room, which was separated only by a curtain from a couple in the adjacent space who had an animated conversation about sports, their weekend plans, and life in general. I really wished I could tune them out and relax, but I just couldn't. Had I known there was just a curtain between us, I would have brought ear plugs or ear buds and listened to a meditation app. There also wasn't a way to easily tell someone as I had my feet in a foot soak and we were left along to relax uninterrupted for a long time. Normally that would be a good thing! I almost called the front desk to ask if they could ask the couple to lower their voices. Finally when we got checked on, the ladies providing our service agreed the people were rather noisy and immediately asked them to lower their voice. They mentioned this occasionally was a problem when spaces were separated by a curtain and suggested I come next time on a Tues or Wed when it would be quieter. I understand that people visit a spa for different reasons and that some conversation is often part of the enjoyment and experience for some. but I came for tranquility and to recharge and wasn't able to get that this time. So if you are reading this and thinking of coming for your first treatment, I still recommend the place, but come prepared with ear plugs or earbuds just in case it's noisy and that's not what you want. read more

If you want to be soaked in KY jelly and get a gentle rub that costs you 250 then this place is for you. They need to stick to the soaks and strokes and leave the massages to the professionals. This spa is hands down the best in town!! The owner is caring, thoughtful and attentive. The massage therapists are experienced and thorough and if you book a 60 minute massage you'll get every minute of it! Not like these chain massage places where you book 60 and get 45 minutes. The spa itself is lovely. It's clean, comforting and relaxing. They don't try to sell products or upgrade your experience, but rather let you decide what to purchase and what services you want! My friend and I went in for a prenatal foot soak (a few months ago) and didn't have the best experience. The owner was persistent in getting into contact with us so that she could make it right! Everyone has off days, so I'm thinking that our first experience was an off day. I'm glad that the owner talked to us, and that we gave the spa another chance to see how wonderful it is. I was looking for a little bit of a "last minute" massage appointment for my mom and I. I reached out to Soak Spa and Foot Sanctuary via e-mail and received a rapid and diligent response within a couple hours! I was impressed, as usually I have to wait a few days for a response, so right off the bat I was satisfied with this business. When my mom and I arrived, we were instantly greeted and taken back to the spa lounge. Both the smell and ambiance were pleasant and serene. My masseuse was Kiera and she did an exceptional job! She made sure to ask throughout how the pressure was feeling as well as if I was doing okay. She was so sweet! My mom enjoyed her masseuse and service as well! I was in Fort Collins for just a few days and noticed this business and thought "Wow, what a great idea to just have a relaxing soak and massage for my tired feet." Even thought it was last minute, they were able to schedule me for 45 minutes of bliss. Crystal, my therapist, was attentive but not intrusive. After setting me up with warm water, a heated neck wrap, she lowered the lights and let me relax. Checking in to see if the water needed heating or if I needed anything. Then came a wonderful sea-salt foot scrub and lower leg/foot massage. BLISS If I lived in the area I would be a regular customer! read more

This was seriously one of the best experiences I have had at any spa. I get weekly massages and waxing from other salons, and I'm thinking about switching to Melissa and Soak Spa. Melissa does a fantastic job paying attention to every single detail. The signature facial is out-of-this-world amazing. Melissa uses all-natural ingredients, and when I told her my skin was sensitive, she adjusted and did a great job with it! My skin didn't break out afterwards, which is a first! She also is really great at giving skin care tips without shaming you about how your skin is, which I appreciate since other salons can be a bit judgmental. I have nightmare skin. OK, actually, I have AWESOME skin. It's really quite lovely when it is treated right. But I am a rock climber and a cyclist and I forget sunscreen all the time, and if I remember to wash it daily it is kind of a miracle, and I have issues with eczema popping up at times. I am Irish so I have a major tendency towards redness. If my skin knows something is coming along that might irritate it, it starts reddening in advance of the potential attack. That said, when it is well-treated and taken care of it's really lovely, peaches-and-cream with freckles. I rarely wear makeup and when I do, it's some mascara and eyeshadow and maybe liner and a little concealer; I am totally NOT a full-face-base kinda girl. That would get in the way of my climbing and cycling, frankly. I LOVE facials but haven't had the opportunity to schedule one for quite a few years. Circumstances conspired to allow me to schedule one for Friday morning at 11:00 at Soak Spa, a new day spa in Old Town where Melissa Stewart does, apparently, some kind of amazing witchcraft. I received a signature facial from Melissa at Soak Spa on Friday. She was very calm and courteous, giving me plenty of time to change and get onto the table, which was (for me) perfectly warmed. She also made sure to let me know she could change the temperature of the table if I got too warm, and started my facial with inhalations of essential oils. I absolutely LOVE lavender, so she used that and instructed me to take three deep breaths, which really helped me calm and center myself. Then onto the facial!! She began by massaging lotion into my feet and wrapping them in booties to hydrate them, and then started in applying all of the assorted layers of the facial. I was in absolute heaven. Melissa's touch is gentle but assured, and I was at perfect peace feeling that I was in the hands of an absolute expert. I could probably have fallen asleep a few times. I may have. She did some extractions at my request but even they were very gentle. I have some issues with eczema on my neck and chest and it had all calmed down considerably by the end of the facial. She uses Auspect products which I now absolutely love. As a former employee of and believer in Origins I'll continue to use my Origins products until they run out, but I may have to replace them with Auspect's product line as my skin seems to thoroughly enjoy them. When the facial was done I was treated to a wonderful hand and arm massage. Then Melissa removed my booties and left the room so that I could change. I spied on myself in the small mirror in the room, but it wasn't until I saw myself in the larger mirror in the bathroom that I nearly started crying. I looked amazing!! Melissa's work turned my skin from dull, dried-out and abused layers of epidermis to fresh, glowing, healthy translucence. I really did almost cry. I work at a bike shop, and had to head over there afterwards. A couple of my guys even noticed, and the man I've recently started seeing complimented me when we saw each other a couple of days later. Soak Spa truly is as good as it gets! I'm not a gal who gets regular facials... in fact, I'm the 'bar soap to the face' kind of girl.... but I was gifted a facial and it was amazing! I haven't been pampered like that in AGES! The foot/neck/shoulder/arm massage was an awesome bonus. I love the fact that Soak Spa has a holistic approach and uses only organic products. For someone who likes to hug trees regularly, this is very important to me. I left Soak Spa feeling like I did something incredible for my skin and myself. I've been going to Melissa for over 2 years now. At first, we experimented with different facial procedures such as a facial, dermaplaning and then microneedling. Microneedling changed my skin for the better. I had acne scarring that was worse on one side of my face compared to the other. It took about 5 times of microneedling to see a difference. I've had a total of 12 microneedling sessions and can say that my acne scars are barely noticeable. I'm happy that I stuck with microneedling. So, if your a person that has acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, or fine lines I definitely recommend microneedling. read more

This spa has amazing service! It's the second time I go in for their 90 minute facial with foot massage. The place is very nicely decorated. I went into a back room to soak my feet in hot water with petals and get the foot massage while sipping hot tea and enjoying a neck warmer. Then they pass me to a private room for the facial. Melissa was amazing! I enjoyed everything she did to my neck, face, arms and feet. The warm boots feel delicious and needless to say towards the end I was so relaxed that I feel asleep.
