They're friendly, genuine and honest. They recognized us when we walked in, remembered their regular customers by name and even knew many of their usual orders. That level of service is so impressive and really makes you feel welcome. I stuck with my tried-and-true favorite, the gluten-free Johnnycake with sausage, poached eggs and hollandaise. It was just as delicious as I remembered. Once again the portions were generous enough for leftovers. This time I also tried the gluten-free cinnamon roll with butter. Flavorful and delicious! (And yes, butter really does make everything better! ) I'll continue to rave about Mae's Place and can't wait to come back to try one of the gluten-free bagels or wraps next. I ordered the famous hash omelet (huge, so, so good) and it comes with your choice of two sides. I apologize for not knowing what all of the options were but I opted for home fries and toast (another choice was baked beans, I remember that one). My wife had the Supreme omelet which came with a meat, peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheese. It was also huge and delicious. While we were sitting at the counter chatting up a local, she mentioned that Oatley's had just won the local Community Choice award. I can see why. One other thing to mention is their bread.
