Yes, the emails and communication could perhaps use some work, but all the information is there, and most importantly my kids have had a fantastic time, learned a ton, and love to go every time they get a chance. Every time I drop the kids off I think of what a pain it was trying to get two kids plus ski equipment etc dropped off and then I imagine doing it times 300. One of my kids grabbed someone else's poles after the first day and the owner actually came and picked them up from my house - I'm sure she has to deal with this all the time and it was greatly appreciated. The bus leaves from near Lincoln Park zoo Saturday mornings at 7am and gets back around 5. They have them leaving from other spots too. Has been an excellent experience. These people have been doing this for a long time and have it all figured out. Definitely either do season rentals at Viking or bring your own gear. Renting each week up there sucks. The only suggestion for the school is that they could be much more responsive to answering parent emails. Hard to have patience for that. Otherwise, I highly recommend.

You can call and ask if they have what you need and how much inventory they have of an item.

Chair lift is good but the smaller runs with rope tows are annoying because they're difficult to get started on and you get held up if someone falls. Rental equipment is easy to get and seems to be in decent shape. Food options aren't great but it's edible. It's about what you'd expect out of a freezer bag. Price is decent but it's hard to say great because it's essentially underwhelming school cafeteria food.

This review is only for the tubing portion of Wilmot…read more For a relatively flat geography, Wilmot is able to provide a decent tubing experience. There are several adjacent, straight runs (apparently 22, but not all utilized on our warm February day) which provide a decent and safe velocity for young and old alike. There's a conveyor/escalator type of tow that allows tubers to stand and hold their tube to get up the hill. Here's the downside... $55 for 2 hours is steep! Especially for the lack of variety in slope. The food and souvenirs are also way overpriced and it feels unreasonable for a large family to pay to go tubing here. Based on the prices online, it would be better to get a lift ticket and ski rental and have the day to ski, than to pay for 2 hours of tubing. I still recommend Wilmot for the experience. For my neighbors in the Chicago suburbs, it is a nice change of pace for a winter activity.

They've been making a ton of snow and creating some fantastic features every week. The black diamond is really a black diamond.
