There were 13 of us in a class to paint a decorated tree in the beautiful outdoors. Our instructor was very good. She led us, step by step, to make the tree all better than we thought we could upon entry. There were plenty of breaks to get paint to dry, and that made the experience the full two hours. She was also willing to take photos of groups at the end. There are drinks and snacks available and near by bathrooms, so you can keep yourself busy during those breaks. The last two times I went I painted my pet dog Bernini in March and yesterday I painted a small spring scene. The staff even acknowledged my birthday with a birthday hat at my seat. Last night not only did we paint, but we learned how to play Mahjong with Gretchen and Colleen with Mariposa Mahjong. So cool! Both in March and last night, I was lucky enough to have Autumn as the painting instructor. She's very detailed and will help you in an instance if you get stuck. Everything is provided from an apron to brushes and the paint. All you have to do is let your creative self flow. At the end of the evening, I was talking to the owner Pam and was surprised to learn she offers other fun and creative activities like charcuterie boards, mosaic garden art, chunky knit blankets, wine glassses, art boards and even a 4-hr Bob Ross oil painting. There is a small bar area that serves nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages and a few food items like pretzels, a packaged charcuterie, a small pizza, and a variety of snacks. You're also welcomed to bring your own snacks, but not BYOB. There's something so cathartic about sitting down and painting no matter if it's a masterpiece or not. I'll be back next week with my Pilates friends to do another painting. I highly recommend the studio for a fun evening with girlfriends, a date night or even go by yourself for some me-time.

We went ahead and I assisted her with making her own candle which was a pretty fast and easy process. It was put off to the side while we worked on our painting. The whole time while working on the painting, each step was given very specific and it was easy to follow. It was really helpful and it was at a good pace for everyone to be able to follow along. I started off with sanding, then staining, applying the watermelon template, and painting. I did an ombré style which was very fun to paint. I finished at the three hour mark so I'm glad I didn't do any extra steps. They have liquor, water, wine, and soda for purchase, at a reasonable price too. I like that they had mikes hard available because I don't really like beer or truly. Tips are accepted but not required.

She has a great sense of pacing and gives participants autonomy to express their own touches to pieces. She gave me really helpful pointers as it was my first time doing a class and I loved how she demonstrated on her own plate to show me how to blend colors if I wanted to and did not simply do it for me. If you are 21+, they are very accommodating with BYOB providing ice, glasses, and OJ for mimosas! Whether it's a group of friends, galentines, or date night, I highly recommend giving this place a try!

He said Al Capone produced bootlegged alcohol there, and that a burn mark on one of the wooden beams is actually from that time! I thought that was so interesting. He also did a mini trivia game, and the winner got one of the instructor's paintings. I won! I got a really cool painting that's now displayed on my bookshelf. Such a great place for a girls' night (or day)! Most people have heard of the paint and sip…read morepainting classes where you are taught how to paint on canvas, whilst sipping wine with friends. This is similar, but a little more involved - you get to create adorable, rustic wooden signs and platters. We kicked off our girls' getaway weekend with an early Saturday morning class. HOW IT WORKS: You go to their website and choose which class you want to attend. You choose which board/item you want to create and pay right there online. It's $65 - so it's a little pricier than the canvas type paint classes but worth it for what you create. PAINTING DAY!: When you arrive, you go to your table where all of our boards are lying on top. The wood was naked because we were going to sand them, stain them, stencil them and then paint them ourselves. You put on an apron, and the teacher guides you through each step. They already have the stencils cut (since you picked your board in advance), and so it's a pretty seamless process. There are examples of boards all over the room for inspiration. I loved my final product! It was a 3 hour process, but it was fun and went by fast. They have various drinks you can order to your table (the ladies at the table next to us all ordered a bunch of beers - at 10:00 a.m. - starting early I guess). Since it was my birthday, they took a photo of our group, holding our signs, while I held a board that said I celebrated my birthday at Board and Brush. :D They also gave us punch cards, so that you get a free class once you attend so many classes. I'm not sure I'll be making THAT many boards, but I definitely will do one again sometime! My board looks perfect in my living room!

We were on the hunt for a one stop shop for decor for a small backyard party during Covid-19:…read morelights, furniture, rugs, pillows, etc. This turns out it's harder to find than I expected unless you go with the big time players like Kehoe that was a bit pricier than I wanted for this particular party. I loved the rustic look of the furniture Elegant had and their prices were better than most. While they didn't have any rugs or pillows to rent (sigh), their wine barrels were perfection to use as high boys and ended up getting a bunch of their low benches to put together as low tables (to use with floor seating). And they were also able to provide lights for my backyard. While every other vendor told me that postposting due to rain or Covid-19 wasn't an option (say whaaa?) I also liked that they were flexible. The main issue was that getting ahold of them was extremely difficult. If the Yelp reviews didn't give me faith that they'd show in time fo the bash I would have been extremely worried. It took a lot of stalking for both me and my party planner to get a contract, pay for the contract and a date to set everything up. There is an emergency # and found that we had better luck when we called the emergency #. They set everything up a few days in advance so I didn't worry too much about them being a no show. I let them know they needed to come at 7am to get it all done since I was headed out for a busy day and they showed up even a few minutes early. An hour later my yard was lit up beautifully and I was really happy with the look of the furniture for the price. They set it all up on a Thursday morning and said they would be back on Monday to pick it up (also prompt for pick up) so we got to enjoy a long weekend of beautiful lights. While the service leading up to the event wasn't the best, I'd probably still use them since it was smoothly the weekend of the event. However, I'd hope they would be more on top of their communication next time.
