My kids had almost no ski experience and signed up for Blizzard this year. We did a full season…read morerental from Viking and off they went. Yes, the emails and communication could perhaps use some work, but all the information is there, and most importantly my kids have had a fantastic time, learned a ton, and love to go every time they get a chance. Every time I drop the kids off I think of what a pain it was trying to get two kids plus ski equipment etc dropped off and then I imagine doing it times 300. One of my kids grabbed someone else's poles after the first day and the owner actually came and picked them up from my house - I'm sure she has to deal with this all the time and it was greatly appreciated. Highly recommended!

Kids love going here. They basically run busses every Saturday in the winter up to Wilmot…read moreMountain. They have a group class and then have free time to eat lunch and ski. The bus leaves from near Lincoln Park zoo Saturday mornings at 7am and gets back around 5. They have them leaving from other spots too. Has been an excellent experience. These people have been doing this for a long time and have it all figured out. Definitely either do season rentals at Viking or bring your own gear. Renting each week up there sucks. The only suggestion for the school is that they could be much more responsive to answering parent emails. Hard to have patience for that. Otherwise, I highly recommend.

Above and beyond for the front office! I made a mistake on my end and I called their online number…read more I wish I would have gotten the name of the lady that was so friendly and sympathetic. She took my info, contacted Nick in the ticket office and they found my purchase and they refunded me all of my money!! They did not have to do this, but they did! Thank you so much. Only thing that would have been better...if they gave me backstage passes to meet Tim!!! Thanks again for good people.

Kudos to Alpine Valley for hosting events during the summer and making snow for all the downhill…read moreskiing and snowboarding recreations. They have a decent lift ticket pricing. Lifts run at a reasonably faster speed than competing ski resorts. Runs are also longer than competing resorts. I would say the runs are softer than other resorts, so you can feel good going down Midwest black diamonds. They have ski and snowboard rentals including the shoes. Rental fees are separate. Decent amount of runs and lifts. Their food is great wait staff is helpful and friendly and the wait for food doesn't take too long. The lodge cafe offers hot drinks, bar food, bar, and sometimes live music! It's a nice nearby getaway for folks from the Milwaukee and Illinois area. Parking is also decent. They also have lockers for small and big sizes. Small ones cost 75cents each time you open the locker. $20 for all day. I'd definitely come back for a nice nearby drive away.
