The instructor is very knowledgeable and clear. She funny and to the point. She is good at what she does. However, the email sent out from the main office stated parent orientation would be about 20 minutes which is inaccurate as it was more like 50. This time frame was not on the instructor who moved through that thoroughly and quickly, but instead on the amount of information she provided. In addition, the room size and seating is limited and that should be noted when sending the meeting details as well. Last, there is additional unused space in the front that could be used to make the facility a little bigger and provide additional seating for parents at orientation as you never know the circumstances with parents (or students) who may need those seats while attending that orientation. read more

They did not have a driver for my child to drive behind the wheel when he did drive I had to go to top driver in another town. He was not able to finish his behind the wheel with top driver and I was told I would get a partial refund.(they never gave me anything) I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I will not recommend this driving school as their in-car lesson is very limited, they block all the dates and you cannot even call customer service for help. Bad communication and for the service they provide $600 dollars is way too much. They also schedule 2 students in 1 lesson in the car. It is like putting the safety of the other student at risk. read more

Their online driving class consistently locked up and they would need to reset and my grandson would need to retake a lesson. Was very frustrating to him. Then they sent his completion certificate and it had clerical errors. I contacted them and they assumed it was our fault. Turned out it was theirs. They contacted me and said it was their clerical error. No apology. I asked them if they could send his corrected certificate overnight or 2 day delivery and they said no. 2 weeks later and we're still waiting. Then we have to send it to in the car driving and wait for that to arrive. I don't know when he'll be able to get his license but they have put us in a bind. The in the car instructors were great but the company; not so much. I would never recommend them. They could have stepped up due to their error but did not. read more

Both of my children attended Top Driver, and I was so pleased with the curriculum and the instructors! The instructors made my children feel less nervous, they were very professional and kind to my new nervous drivers! But most of all SAFE! Customer Service was very helpful and professional! I was very pleased with the instruction my daughter received at Top Driver. We purchased the Gold package and received an online video series that helped prepare me as a parent to drive with my child. We switched from All Suburban to Top Driver in Libertyville & Gurnee for behind the wheel. My daughter had different drivers and all were extremely nice and professional. They call you if they are running five minutes late. Just a pleasant experience all around. read more

From what I have heard from my son and daughter, their instruction is good and on par with what I would expect. The issue I have is that at least one instructor is notoriously late almost every time for both classroom and driving and then very obviously hurrying to get there. It sets a poor role model for these young drivers to plan out a drive, leave in time, not be hurried, and respect people you are meeting. I would plan on waiting 10-15min for the instructors to get there. read more

Gurnee TOP Driver was fantastic. During Covid, we had flexible virtual class options. The in-car lessons were one-on-one to minimize spread of germs. They thoroughly disinfected the vehicle. Lessons were easy to schedule online. The instructors were always friendly. I as a parent was pleased with the instructors' care and skill. My daughter always felt comfortable with whichever teacher she had. She was well-prepared her for the road test and passed on her first try. Another bonus of TOP Driver is that passing the end-of-class quiz with a grade of 80% or higher meant my daughter didn't need to take a written test through the Secretary of State when she went in for her license. TOP Driver gives all the necessary forms to families via the website. Their phone support staff did a great job answering my questions. (P.S. Find another driving school, don't enroll your aspiring driver to Top Driver. This company will drain your wallet for extra charges because of issues that could have been avoided if they have a good customer service or if their instructors were trained on how to handle customer issues. We went to church that day and thought that we could be home before the driving instructor showed up. We got home a little late and my son didn't go with the instructor when the instructor showed up. When we got home the instructor was still waiting. I told him that I will get my son ready fast, but this instructor refused to go and decided to cancel the appointment. He said he's already 20 minutes behind schedule; the driving lesson was scheduled for 2 hours. This instructor could have deducted 20 minutes from his 2 hours schedule, instead he decided to cancel it and forced us to pay for the cancelation fee of $40 dollars. I wish this instructor told our son to call us before he made the decision to cancel. This company certainly don't value their customers. I will certainly make sure not to use Top Driver again for my other teen. I gave this company 1-star only to post this review. read more

They fail to notify you that they're online courses aren't "compatible" with FireFox.... Did my courses twice and still didn't register. I later talked with the online support, and it was then that I learned about their lack of "support" on FireFox. As a business, not having "support" for all major browsers is a flawed because every computer performs differently with each browser. read more
