I want great things for Snorkel Bob and his whole store. We couldn't get a spot on one of those pricey Na Pali Coast tours so instead we went to Snorkel Bob's and got set up promptly in a clear, polite, Covid-safe manner by the man running the store (maybe it was Snorkel Bob himself? Who knows). Got masks (the nicest ones), snorkels, and flippers for two people for $25. Honestly the paper handout with snorkeling tips written by Snorkel Bob was worth the price alone. "Snorkel meditation is a growth opportunity." Too true, Snorkel Bob. I went five minutes down the road to Koloa Landing and I saw a sea turtle swim right by me with my own eyes, and I only had to pay Snorkel Bob $12.50! Are you kidding! Total delight.

Conveniently located on the way to Poipu beach, stop into snorkel bobs for great service and a selection of beach essentials. They also have really cool photography prints for sale as well as books, towels, rash guards, and tees! Great service!!

I've never been more impressed by the boat captains precision in navigating his boat through tight quarters. Rob, courageously backed it in pretty tight under a waterfall into a cave. He went the extra mile to make sure we were safe and had a great time. The peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were the best I've ever had too!

    Sizing for snorkels!

When we rent snorkels in Poipu, we always go to Snorkel Bob's. Best pricing and great service. And the manager, Melissa, is super helpful!

He even let us start with a quick prayer over the mics as we were lifting off. We flew with a group of four plus Preston. I sat in the front middle and was plenty warm in pants and a jacket. My friend was in the back with her husband and she was freezing in pants and a jacket, so wear layers in the winter - especially if you run cold. Despite the wind and light rain, Preston kept us steady and comfortable the entire flight and went out of his way to show us places we had hiked or planned to visit during our stay on the island. Doors-off was definitely the way to see all of God's beautiful creation without limits. Seriously, the parts of the island we couldn't have seen any other way were such a gift to see 360° from the air. Magnificent doesn't even begin to describe it. If you do one tour/tourist thing on Kauai, make it be this. You won't regret it. Thanks, Preston, for making our friend's 40th birthday unforgettable!

The check in process was well organized, and we got a clear and easy to understand safety briefing. The boarding procedure, based on where we sat, was also well organized. The ride itself was phenomenal. Our pilot, Robby, was very informative about Kauai, its landscapes, and its history. We saw many places that are only visible from air, such as the waterfalls used in Jurassic Park, Mount Waialele's crater, and some lush valleys. The experience of flying through Waimea Canyon was indescribable, as was flying along the Na Pali Coast. The views of both were absolutely priceless, and we got new angles and hidden areas that could never have been possible on the road or from the water. The soundtrack during the ride was also great. Overall, a highly recommended tour if you are in Kauai, especially as the majority of the island can only be viewed by air.

I was quite nervous, but more from excitement. I was the one who chose doors off. We checked in at the NEW LOCATION at 3748 Ahukini Rd. Lihue, HI 96766. Kalei welcomed us and gave us our time to come back to get ready for our flight. She then directed us to a lounge with restrooms across the street. Preflight preparation with Kalei. First, we watched a short safety video. Next, we strapped a flotation device around our waists. Kalei had us remove our phones from their cases to properly secure them in a holder with a wrist strap. Then we waited on the front bench for our pilot. Within moments, our pilot WALT, walked over and greeted us with a big smile and a hearty handshake. After chatting with Walt, all my fears vanished. He was happy, friendly, and confident. He truly was a cool guy that you do not mind hanging out with for an hour in helicopter. He shared lots of interesting facts about the island and we had a lot of fun laughs. Walt as a pilot was gentle but effective with necessary safety information. His instructions were clear and easy to follow. Getting in and secure was remarkably easy. The flight itself was smooth. We did have some light rainfall during the flight which made for a spectacular rainbow. The entire experience was magical. If you want to know what we saw on the tour, you will need to book the tour and find out. You will not be disappointed. If you end up with Walt as your pilot, you are in great hands. Have fun! I highly recommend going "doorless". The ability to take photos without the softening glare of a window is what really makes one of these flights worthwhile. It's also such an incredible rush to constantly blasted with fresh tropical air. When we got off the helicopter we felt like boring land people and yearned to get back into the skies.

Price was $250 per person and we booked a couple days before the tour date. (we went at the end of March - the weather was fantastic and not too hot, also not raining). Although it was pricey, I felt like it was worth the experience and highly recommend anyone do a tour, even if it's not with this company. We got back to shore around 7-7:30pm, so total time was 5 hours ish. Pros: - the Na Pali coast is BEAUTIFUL - the views were truly a once in a life time experience for me and I saw the fullest rainbow I've ever seen - The tour guide was super informative, we learned a lot about whales, and they also taught us a lot about certain mountains and waterfalls that we passed on the Na Pali Coast (like where Kauai kings were buried). - We stopped to watch whales multiple times and it was really cool! - The 3 staff working on board the ship were extremely helpful in answering questions, providing drinks, and instructing people from a safety perspective - Safety - I felt very well taken care of the whole time. It's a barefoot cruise but people can choose to keep their shoes on if they want. They provided bags for people feeling nauseous and gave good advice when people were feeling seasick. - Food provided - it's not fine dining or anything (chicken teriyaki, salad, etc) but it does beat having to pack your own food or go hungry around dinner time. Also unlimited alcohol or nonalcoholic drinks. - The staff helped us take photos and there's a lot of great photo opportunities at the coast - Champagne toast at sunset, which was beautiful to watch out on the water - bathrooms available on board - My husband didn't feel like eating on board due to the motion sickness so they were kind enough to pack a to-go box for us! - Parking was easy and the meet up location was easy to find - we stood outside for most of the ride since it felt better than sitting inside, so we did get a bunch of sea-spray and got super wet from the 10 ft swells, but it felt really fun! Cons: - I think they need to put a huge disclaimer with statistics or something to show people how common it is for people to get seasick and vomit. I think maybe 5 people from our whole boat got really sick and either fell or vomited during the trip (can feel a little weird enjoying the beautiful view while someone smells like vomit next to you lol). They do tell you at the beginning that you can walk away and get a full refund after hearing the captain briefing during the meet up starting spot, but I don't think they really emphasize just how many people get sick. I personally felt fine but I felt really bad for people who had to gut through the five hour round trip feeling terrible. bring Dramamine!! This was definitely a highlight of my first time in Kauai, I wouldn't necessarily do it more than once due to the price, but it was a fantastic experience for the views!
