A shockingly five star experience. Snorkel Bob's made it exceptionally easy. Picked up my snorkel set for myself and my friend, and headed out for 6 days. Bought a couple of quick dry long sleeve shirts emblazoned with the Snorkel Bob's logo. The price was reasonable, around $60 for each snorkel set, March 2025. Over priced and patronizing. Do not rent from here. Go next door to Boss Frog. You"ll spend half as much and receive friendly service. I paid over $250 for a two week rental of two sets of snorkel gear. Boss Frog next door is less than $90 for the same time/gear. Tough lesson for me. read more

Stopped in to try and find a dry bag, and was met by a cranky man who likely shouldn't work in customer service. "No, I don't." Then proceeded to tell me he had a water resistant bag that "costs $15." Very dismissive and then proceeded to ask my husband to move the car while I walked next door to Boss Frogs and was met by a lovely man who helped me and even gave me some advice and tips! Be forewarned that this location may ask you to wear a mask. We came here on Christmas Eve 2022 to rent snorkeling gear and had great customer service. The person running the store showed us 2 different snorkels to choose from and got our gear quickly. I'm not sure what the issue was with a recent reviewer complaining about not getting service. The guy who was running this place (rich?) was extremely inefficient-- I've never had a snorkel rental transaction take over 20min to complete. He kept jumping back and forth between groups rather than complete one group at a time. Not streamlined at all.. oddly haphazard. And we were given a mask with a huge leak in it, so we were unable to even use it. Drove 1.5 hours to anini beach to snorkel (the only snorkel day we had planned on our trip) and could not even do so because I was given a defective mask. Advice: go to snorkel bobs next door. For a family of 6, Richard was amazing getting us hooked up to snorkel. He made sure all the kids had the right fit. We kept the gear for a week and used it everyday. I'm a local born and raised in Kauai. I was in Snorkel bobs recently to buy a new mask. I was appalled at the prices. 150$ are you kidding me :( this is insane. Inflation hit this place a lot harder than others. So I was thinking of going next door and the store clerk came out and aggressively asked me to move my car because I was going next door. I was also scolded for even touching the mask I was interested in before I seen the price. I recommended next door Boss Froggs. Nicer customer service and way cheaper prices. read more

Went here first thing in the morning and they got us fitted into our masks and we left within 5 minutes ready to begin snorkeling. I love how convenient it was to get our items and how clean they were when we got them. We used them our entire stay in Kauai. they supply you with a cleanser which was good to keep it clean daily. I appreciated the fish guide they provided us with. We were able to learn the names and actually saw a good 2/3 of the fish while snorkeling. Snorkel bob rescued me after finding it quite hard to get snorkel gear on the island. I simply purchased the snorkel tube, I will admit there was a bit of sticker shock! I think snorkel bob himself helped me. He was very friendly and was knowledgeable about the product and helped me weight the pros and cons. He even cleaned my mask for me and threw in an anti fog. He also booked us on a kayak snorting trip that includes lunch to hidden beach. He gave us tips for best snorkeling on the Island. Rude guy met us on the porch--didn't want us inside. Expensive & rude. We went next door, helpful & affordable. Our car was still parked in front of his place which was literally 50 feet away from the other business. We had a great experience at Bob's snorkel. The guy who helped us (could have been Bob, I have no idea) was amazing. Yes, before we walked in we were asked to wear a mask. So if you are offended to wear masks, don't come here. He was awesome. He gave us great gear including prescription googles for my husband. He hooked us up with a last minute Luau and a helicopter tour. He gave us great recommendations for swim snorkel spots off the beaten path too. When we return, we will be using Bob's again. Second time renting snorkeling gear from Snorkel Bob's. They have great options and I am so happy that I can get prescription goggles. Rich was very helpful and figured out my RX when I couldn't remember what I needed. Rich also recommended a Na Pali Coast tour as well as the best days to book. That recommendation turned out to be the highlight of our vacation. PS use your Snorkel Bob's gear for the boat trip and you will be much happier than using the gear on the boat. read more

We we're approached very aggressively, the guy not super friendly. All he wants for us to book with him to get his commission. Doesn't want to help in any other way. The mask leaked water from the nose and he said because I have a mustache. I would definitely go to the boss frog just to have the respect to rent snorkeling gear. I would give this place six stars if I could. Richard is helpful and knowledgeable. There is is a good selection of gear and we were pleased with ours. The weekly rates are great. If you forgot your SPF swim short at home, Snorkel Bob's sells them. They provide you with free very descriptive maps. Also, you get two boogie board rentals if you book a tour from them. Richard recommends us smaller tour operator called Catamaran Kahanu and we could not be more pleases with it ! We saw manta rats, poipurses, and whales. Richard made booking very easy. We actually booked our excursions with Boss Frog's next door and would've gotten a good deal on snorkel rentals but since they were out at lunch, we decided to head over to Snorkel Bob's. It was our last full day and we just wanted to do some snorkeling before we caught the sunset. We went with the "good" snorkel sets which ran us $9 apiece, we didn't really care too much about the price because we just wanted for one day. They have an after hours equipment return box so make sure to hold on to your receipt and place it in the equipment bag when you return the rentals. Also, tie all the bags that are with your rentals together so that they know you returned them. To avoid any hassle, we just dropped the stuff off in the morning before we headed for the airport. They still ended up calling to ask about whether or not we returned the equipment. That's kind of weird considering we handed it over in person. We've decided to just take everything that is included whenever we book an excursion. We could have had boogie boards for free and discounted snorkel equipment. Worse come to worse, we could have just kept everything in the trunk and used them if we had a chance. read more

Our experience with Bob's Snorkel started out great. Super easy, and they had everything we needed. Not cheap, but convenient. BUT READ YOUR CONTRACT CLOSELY. One of my kids mask and breathing tube got lost in the ocean. We were charged $150 for the replacement (not including the flippers, we did not lose those). The mask and breathing tube were private label with their logo on them. They were perfectly good for our beginner level activities, but not super top of the line. We looked on amazon and felt we could have replaced them for about $40. We will NEVER rent from them again. read more
