Apparently we've been coming here for a while, given that even my last update was over ten years ago. Sno To Go continues to be the best place for dessert in the Burg, bar none. Unless you are lactose intolerant, get it stuffed (with two layers of vanilla custard), and honestly it's probably worth the discomfort to get it stuffed even if you are lactose intolerant! Frog in a Blender (lemon lime in the middle, watermelon around the outside) and W&M Tribe (mango in the middle, granny smith apple around the outside) have been our go-tos forever. Highly, highly recommended! read more

Today was a good day for some ice cream! My one real complaint is the little parking lot space. We didn't have to wait long. Maybe 15 minutes total? Which isn't bad considering how busy they were. The front counter lady didn't seem very welcoming and happy to be there though. I tried the hot fudge brownie sundae and it was fantastic. Extremely rich on the chocolate. Not enough brownie for the amount of ice cream and chocolate but was still very good. read more

I went here on a whim with some friends. They have different flavors than Pelican Snoballs, but I will say that it doesn't taste better than Pelican's. I ordered the endless summer which is should've been a mix of SpongeBob and summer sky but all it tasted like was lemon lime. I had marshmallow added in the middle but I didn't really taste it. The service was pretty fast and they moved through the customers pretty fast. They don't have enough t outdoor seating for the large summer crowds. I'll stick to Pelican Snowball. read more

Love this place, always good, --recommend a couple things to do when you are getting some great snow to go-- 1) Get a Jr or Small. They are huge. 2) Pay for the extra cup which keeps the contents from spilling on you. They fill the cups right to the top. 3) They have a military discount, so if appropriate ask for it. The icee is great, the stuffed icees are even better. The staff is friendly and although there is limited parking there are other places close you can park. There are also picnic tables to sit at. read more

My friends' ultimate favorite place to go! This was a must do in their opinion. Hey, I'm usually willing to try most places that carries desserts of some type. It's apparently a popular place, once you pull up and see a long line. This apparently isn't uncommon. There's a walk up window where you order and a second window for order pick up, once they call your number. They don't only sell snoballs/snow cones, but they sell soft serve, sundaes, banana splits, shakes and cold drinks. They even have sugar free options, however I did not try the sugar free. There were a lot of options I would like to try. These are typical snow cone, ice, crunchy textured treats. Don't expect the light fluffy snow textured, shave ice. It's all personal preference. I prefer the light fluffy, not icy ice texture. But the snow cone, crunchy texture, slurp all the syrup from the ice experience reminds me of my childhood days. I enjoyed my parrot head snoball. It's a great treat option for those who don't like dairy (or do like dairy) , or love the popsicle type treats on a hot, sweltering day. They have a few picnic tables outside for seating. They don't advertise it, but if you are in dire need of a restroom, they do have one. Just ask staff for the key. It's actually a really large, clean bathroom. Parking can be challenging. read more

We fell in love with Sno-to-Go when it first opened while we were in college. Back to Williamsburg for the weekend to celebrate our 25th anniversary, we managed to squeeze in not one but two visits, and it was as good as ever! Stuffed all the way! Frog in a blender, Nemo, Brambleberry were all standouts. read more

We had an order of five items. No one was wearing gloves and they forgot an item. We watched someone complain about a lack of syrup and instead of making a new one they stuck the syrup nozzle right where the person had eaten from. They then used the same syrup bottle on one of our orders. The service was slow the products were not up to usual standards. read more

If you live in Williamsburg chances are you know and love Sno To Go.....if you don't or you are just visiting you definitely need to know Sno To Go......You will love it!!! Sno Tp Go is truly a town staple. My children grew up loving it and now my grandchildren love it. They have a flavor for everyone stuffed or unstuffed. Don't walk, run to Sno To Go and you'll thank me later. Be sure to tip the awesome young people who do a great job serving up the best snow south of the Mason Dixon Line. P.S. This is one of my family's go-to-places! My mom went to college and W&M and whenever we come back for homecoming or to go to Water Countey/Busch Gardnes we eat at Sno-To-Go. THIS IS THE ONLY GOOD SHAVED ICE I'VE EVER HAD IN MY WHOLE LIFE. Most shaved ice is not very well mixed, but Sno-To-Go's is perfect! They can even put ice cream in it! I do wish, however, that they had better seating, and maybe some bee repellent lanterns. But otherwise, this place is perfect!! read more

Sno to go is a burg (Williamsburg) staple and a must experience for visitors to the area. The location is slightly tucked away but nestled on a main road so it's possible to miss if you don't know to look for it. Parking is tight but cars rotate in and out fairly quickly and you can park in the neighboring lot at night. Their snow cones are of the more "slushy" variety. Great moisture and saturation of flavor. Delicious. You have a variety of sizes and flavor options as well as the option to do stuffed (with vanilla soft serve on top and stuffed in the snow cone) as well as Ultimate Stuffed (which adds condensed milk and marshmallow fluff. I strongly encourage doing the stuffed for your first time because well, 1. It's amazing and 2. Who else offers this??? They also do soft serve on its own, sundaes and a few other treats, but transparently as a local I've never given the others a try . Likely fail, but the stuffed sno ball (their naming for snow cone) is life. Swizzleberry is my go to (blackberry, raspberry, strawberry, blueberry). Give 'em a shot! You won't be disappointed. read more

We've gone to Sno To Go on family vacation for years and usually love it; this summer was a HUGE let down. Prices have gone up astronomically. For a small and a kid sized Sno we wound up paying over $15. Not only that, the service has plummeted. Staff was all very unhappy and visibly so. Got orders wrong and insisted on giving us the wrong size, ice was clumpy and coarse, not much of a line to order but lines of 20-30 people waiting for orders. I watched my order sit inside and melt while 4 other numbers were called. VERY disappointing. read more

The absolute best snowcone in the area that is more slush style than the fluffy light ice variety. They had a great list of flavors, but I highly suggest trying the stuffed version and any size is the best. Parking is a bit tight, but you can short park at the lot by the pancake shop next door. Altho not recommended, but at least your not sharking for a spot. The service is quick and thy have an order in and carry out window which they'll call your name for order pick up. Come grab a taste of an icy adventure your tastebuds will thank you! read more

This is my one time favorite ice-cream place from April- when it closes near the winter. I'm pretty sure I gained a couple pounds by going 2-3 times a week after work. We've gone so many times in the summer to the point where "sno to go" is on the list of my dog's favorite words. I'm not joking..... When I mention "sno-to-go" my dog will aggressively wiggle and cry until I take him there. It's also to the point where he recognizes the turn into the parking lot off of Richmond Rd when we drive by. More things that I love about this place: 1. They give a pup cup (a lil cup filled with vanilla ice cream) to your dog when you bring them. One time they gave peanut a massive cup of ice cream and I had to freeze the rest or he would've become a chubby beagle. 2. Sign up for their newsletter on their website. Every month they'll send you a coupon. Some things include upgrading the size of your snowball, buy one get one half off, and stuffing your snowball for free. 3. If you're obsessed with this place like me, get the punch card! After buying 10 things, you get any sized snowball free! read more

I was wary about going here for non-dairy desserts but other places in Williamsburg had been disappointing, or were closed, when we went to Sno To Go. Tastes great but I've come 3 times and gotten the incorrect order twice. Everything else has been satisfactory!

This is the place to go for sno. Take a pass on the milkshakes- they're just not great. The best move is a stuffed snowball, combining classic custard and the snow flavor of your choice. If you're looking for something you can't get at any other ice place, go for the sea turtle. I think the fruity and tropical flavors are the best. Parking isn't the easiest and there's no indoor space, but it's worth it. They have an almost infinite list of flavors and possible combinations. I also like the large variety of sizes. A small is usually more than enough for but there's something for everyone. read more

This place is the best. When I was stationed in Fort Eustis I had discovered this place and it was my go to for sweet cravings. The last time I was able to go here was in 2005 because at the end of 2005 we had moved. It's now 2021 and we came back to reminisce and show our kids where we used to live and places we use to hang out at. And I could not leave without visiting one time before we left. Let me tell you this place still ranks #1. If I could I would pack this place up and bring it back home with me. read more

Sno to go has the best sno cones! I've been a fan since I was in middle school and always make a point to stop by when I'm in Williamsburg. You won't be disappointed. The weather today was pleasant and I was craving water ice. I knew I did not want watered down Rita's. Yelp to the rescue! A quick search and I saw that luckily I was a few minutes away from Sno-To-Go; so I took a detour before heading home. My expectations were low as the only time I've had stuffed sno-balls was when I would frequent NOLA. Well... Sno-To-Go exceeded my expectations! The ice was super soft and not obnoxiously crunchy, flavors I chose blended well, and the ice cream was deeelicious! I'm so glad I took that refreshing detour. I definitely recommend you stop by if you're in the area. Tip: check their website for the most accurate information re: hours their open. read more

The hubs and I were in the Williamsburg area in search of a cold sweet treat. We've gotten accustomed to shaved ice on the islands, but on the mainland the ice is more coarse. Thankfully yelp helped us locate this local shop offering snow cones to cool off on this hot humid day. They have a small parking lot, but don't be discouraged the turnover rate is high as customers brought their treats into their cars and left. There is a plethora of flavors to choose from. I was trying to be somewhat mindful of calories, so I chose the sugar free dreamsicle. Vanilla and orange flavors mixed sounded like a dream:) The hubs ordered the spongebob which included mango, lemon-lime, and lemonade. But then we both saw the sign of ultimate "stuffed" snowball. :::eyes widened::: Calories went out the door, and I ordered mine stuffed while his was ultimate stuffed lol. The difference was condensed milk and marshmallow fluff in the bottom. We both had the ice cream in the center of our snowball and a soft serve on top. Ingenious concept and it was very refreshing. I ordered a regular stuffed and they were very generous to fill it to the top, to the point of adding an additional cup to support all the cold juices. This is worth checking out and great for the little ones. Support local! read more

What can I say that's not already said. it's an awesome little local hole in the wall ice cream and snowcone shop. Me and my wife and our daughter all hit this up almost every weekend when we are out and about. It's like a Saturday thing parking is a little limited but you can get there and get what you need. Prices are really good. they have a loyalty program on the stamp card when you fill the snap card up you get a free item the offer military discount in public service Discount they are closed on Sundays but that's pretty cool. A childhood favorite! Growing up in Williamsburg a summer vacation was not complete without a few trips to Sno-To-Go. My favorites are the tribe or tigers blood. Always stuffed (with ice cream). They offer many sizes of cups depending on how hungry you are. Parking is definitely tight at Sno-To-Go. So be prepared to avoid busy times or have your driver drop you off. Also be sure to check their website for official times of operation. Enjoy! read more

Was traveling and stopped here for fun. They have a nice variety of flavors. They did a good job making the order up. Nothing like a flavorful shaved ice dessert. For what it was it seemed a bit steep compared to other sno ball or shaved ice products. Perhaps due to the tourist area. This place is known for their 'snoballs', which you choose an ice flavor and then they either put ice cream in the middle or on the top (or both). The idea of mixing Italian ice with ice cream was interesting and somewhat off-putting, but the combination of flavors is amazing. This is somewhat close to the William & Mary campus, and it's always packed in the evening with students getting some snoballs. They do offer a unique variety of flavored ice. I had to have it. I got the orange flavored icee with vanilla ice cream and it was amazing. The ice and the ice cream both held up well and didn't melt into one another. I wished there was a place like this around my house. They have literally 50 different flavors of ice too read more

I've had Sno to Go in the past and I really enjoyed it. I received a 20% discount by email this morning and so I decided to take advantage of it. Because of covid restrictions, orders had to be made from your phone once you arrived at the store. We ordered 2 small stuffed snowballs and a very nice young employee delivered it to our car with our receipt, 2 spoons and lids on our orders. Usually when we take it to go, the lid is clear and raised. This time the lid was fitted to the cup so the ice cream on top was smashed on to the shaved ice. We live less than 5 minutes away (behind Captain George's Restaurant) and never had troubles with a take out order. When we removed the lid, the ice was mushy. No way on earth did it remotely look like shaved ice on the webiste. Nor did it taste like shaved ice. It was slushy and mushy. I finally decided to take a photo but keep in mind that the whole cup was mushy. I could not feel the ice shavings. A big disappointment. read more

OMG! This is my favorite summer spot. I literally drive an hour to get it. I do have to warn that much like Chik-Fil-A, you'll crave it on the one day you can't have it: Sunday. They aren't open. My advice: order a larger size to compensate! It's a simple concept and is amazing that more similar places have not popped up. If you think shaved ice or sno cones and go eh or yuck, you have not had one of these. It is litterally the consistancy of fresh snow and comes in enough flavors to make Baskin Robbins jealous. This is New Orleans or Hawaiian style shaved ice. It sounds weird, but you have to try a "stuffed" snoball. It is amazing. your favorite flavor of shaved ice, a layer of the best soft serve ice cream around (chocolate or vanilla) and another layer of shaved ice on top with a dollop of ice cream to finish. My favorite is "Nemo" The lines tend to be longest on Saturday mid-afternoons. It's a hop-skip-and-a-jump away from Prime Outlets, Williamsburg Pottery, William & Mary, and Busch Gardens on Rte 60 West. It's also best to avoid Parents' Weekend and Homecoming because it has a large following at The College so if you don't have patience, you'll melt before you get your order. Another word to the wise: it's called Sno-to-Go for a reason, it's not a fancy ice cream shoppe. You can eat there if you don't mind roadside picnic tables, but most people grab and go. Parking is at a premium too. Service is quick and very friendly, even on the busiest of days. It's very family & kid friendly (what kid doesn't love ice cream and popsicles though). I hear the mikshakes are also great, but I stick to the snoballs. The menu has expanded to include food items and sundaes as well. And don't forget to grab a t-shirt read more
