I thought we were going to have to suck it up and have his picture taken with his his now grown out Supercuts 'do. Then the owner and our stylist stepped in and they were able to get my son to sit and gave him his "mohawk" (really a regular haircut spiked up in a classic 90's faux-hawk). This was one of the worst haircut experiences we have received. We saw Becky, she was jittery and…read morejumpy right off the bat & made my son feel uncomfortable. I told her we just wanted a simple boys cut, shorter on the sides longer on the top and even supplied reference photos of his past hair cuts. When she started cutting, and kept cutting I stopped her and again reminded her what I had asked for and she just kept hacking at my son's head. He asked for the front to be shorter and because he is only 6 I added for clarity that he liked to be able to keep it just long enough so it could be brushed to the side when styled. Instead we left with a choppy, half bowl cut. The sides aren't cut evenly and the back looks just as bad as the sides. My son is so upset. I'm incredibly confused why they would let this woman near any child with clippers or scissors. Truly this is a shame because we have had wonderful experiences with the other girls there but I cannot silently sit by and allow another child's head to look the way Becky left it.

She was nice and friendly when everything started, but as the cut was ending, we noticed that the sides and backs were not even. Even my 10 year-old kept on saying that it was not even. Since I was sitting, I could see clearly where the unevenness was happening. But instead of getting to the back oh her hair, Rachel kept cutting the front side which kept on getting shorter. I asked her to get down to my level several times, which she refused to do and, when I took this photo and tried to show it to her, she refused to look at it and started becoming ruder. We asked if we could get a second professional opinion, but her response was that in HER "professional opinion", the hair cut was perfect. This is when Amy stepped in and volunteered to help. She took a quick look and immediately got to work. When she finished, she fixed the total botch job that Rachel did and made my daughter's hair look really nice and exactly what we were hoping for. Unfortunately, I can't add the pictures here but I posted the picture in my Google review. The 2 stars is because of what Amy did to resolve the matter. If we barged out after Rachel, we'd leave no stars if we could.

My nervous little lady left feeling confident and proud of her experience. Lex did the cut and was great. I see another review saying that the LGBTQ books were too in your face. I have a lot opinions on that sentiment, but what I will say is that I didn't think they were "in your face." There was a healthy selection of books reflecting all lived experiences in our society, including immigrants, neurodiverse people, BIPOC, and yes, LGBTQ. I'm glad my daughter will grow up with exposure and respect for everyone. And, for what it's worth, there were also lots of "normal" books about Disney princesses and cars and animals too. I highly recommend Moon Lily.

I did not reach out afterward because I was not comfortable having the same stylist make an adjustment, and I live an hour away from the salon. I was initially willing to make the drive because of the impressive work with fine hair on your Instagram and TikTok, which is actually what led me to book the appointment in the first place. Unfortunately, the experience and result I received did not reflect the quality of work that led me to make that drive.
