This place is great. First time in today. Really good, professional cut. I will most definitely be back. Prices are average. The barber I had took his time and did a nice job. Highly reccomended. read more

If I could I would give Jake's chop shop no stars . My son had Jake today , he asked Jake to not cut the top or the back of his hair just the sides around his ears ... Jake was to busy talking to everyone around him that he couldn't take the time to listen. He started to cut the back of his hair and I said what are you doing he didn't want the back touch . His response was "oh well it will grow back ..." he continued the hair cut . When he was finished he asked me if we liked his hair cut .... I said no it's all choppy... he told my son basically to leave the chair and told us to have a good day without fixing his hair .... Literally were told to leave .... Thanks for nots they fix him all up . the vibe of this place is isn't for kids . pretty sure the guys was high.... read more

Jake's Chop Shop - horrible hair cut from jake chop shop - Barbers Near Me - Haverhill, Massachusetts

some fent addict with a dog name gave me a shitty hair cut, laughed about it, then fixed it. after that he took a chunk out of my mustache and cut my neck in the same place twice on either side. do not recommend unless you like being a victim read more

Great people full service licensed master barbers and very cool old school tattoo parlor atmosphere. These guys do top notch work and a ton of community outreach. And they're great with kids who may be a little skittish about their first time in the chair. Highly recommend. read more

I had one excellent hair cut there. Tried to get in several times since but never was able to find a time when the barber had time. Busy shop almost exclusively by appointment. Forget a walk-in. None of the barbers are just there waiting for a walk-in. Unique place. Unkempt is the only way to describe the premises but the people are definitely friendly while you are there. read more

My first visit at Jakes today .I took my grandson in for a cut. They did an amazing job ! Totally impressed with the talent and the time they took with him. They are very cool and the vibe is fun and relaxed. They listened to what he wanted and delivered! We will be going back for sure read more

Writing this for my husband. Not an upscale shop if that's what your looking for but my husband won't go anywhere else. He likes Jake who has always treated him good and gives him the perfect hair cut everytime. He was great with our grandson as well. He even refuses tips from my husband because he was a veteran. read more

Jake's Chop shop is the best best place around for a haircut. Always the best service, Jake is a great barber and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The crew at Jake's are also talented professionals and enjoy each and every visit. read more

Sloppy, rude, and unprofessional. Some of the conversations between the barbers are totally inappropriate for a place of business. And the place is a dump. read more

Huge thank you to Jake who was very patient with my 16 month olds haircut today! He did a fantastic job and my son looks adorable! Thank you! read more

Jake's Chop Shop - Barbers Near Me - Haverhill, Massachusetts

Went here last week for a cut during my break from work. Walked in to get a blank stare from the barber followed by him asking what I wanted like I was bothering him. He then got up and said he had to take a phone call on his cell phone and stepped outside for 10 minutes while I was stuck waiting in the chair for him to come back. As I was deciding to leave he finally came back in so I decided to stay. I told him I wanted a 5 on top faded to a 3 on the sides. I was then told a 5 is a little shorter than finger and questioned if that was what I really wanted. I said yes so he started. As he made it to the sides and back as he was set up for a 1 he asked "did you want a 1 or 2 on the sides?" I just said "whatever go with the 1" When the cut was finally done it wasn't bad although not what I actually asked for and the price was ok. However, with the amount of options just on that one street to get a hair cut I don't see myself going back to a place where the customer isn't number 1 read more

Best cut on the North Shore never mind Haverhill. You pay for the comedy show and the cut is free. A bunch of solid and dedicated artists there. read more

Jake's Chop Shop - Jake - Barbers Near Me - Haverhill, Massachusetts

If you want to be sexually harassed during your haircut, come here. Owner will sexually harass you and tell you he wants to touch your breasts. He will show you pictures of the women he sleeps with and naked photos. Yes during your haircut. He's typically high as a kite and doesn't even know who he is. I went there about 5 times and as I left the last time, he asked for the 10th time what my name was. Yikes. He is too busy harassing you or playing with naked photos on his phone to cut yo ur hair. It will take him forever to cut your hair because he is so distracted. The place is dusty, dirty and a hoarding situation. He has Jesus and trump stuff all over and naked art. I did a walk in and the guy was nice that time and gave me his card (not the owner). I called that guy for an appt and a month later I went in. When I got in, they said "he made appt with you for today? What an idiot. He's on vacation". I was annoyed but someone else took me. I called a month later and made another appt with that said guy. Got there and I said "I've got appt with you at 3. I called the other day". He goes "oh yeah I gotta go. I'm leaving early." And didn't even look at me. And I got tossed around to someone else. I should report the owner for sexual harassment. How he has been open for so long and hasn't been reported, is beyond me! Women, be careful. read more

Last time I went here it felt very unwelcoming. Was ignored to the point that I got up and left and will never return to this place.

I was really conflicted about writing this review, but I have a few things to get off my chest about this place. I've been there twice. Both times I have gotten excellent hair cuts at a good price. However. The first time the barber was nothing but professional. The second time, he wasn't available, so the owner did my hair. He was very talkative, which is fine, but he got very personal very quickly. Talked a lot about himself, pulled out an old journal of his and gave it to me to read as he did my hair. He also quickly got very flirty, and by the end was telling me about his friend's yacht and asking me to join him on it. Now, I am pretty timid by nature, and I spent most of the time laughing it off and trying to play it cool, but it was an incredibly uncomfortable situation. This man has a good twenty years on me, I was the only woman in the place, and he is literally holding a blade by my neck as this is happening. I prefer to go to barbers because of the cut I have, and I understand that they are always going to be full of men, but this was the first time I've ever been made to feel...threatened is too strong of a word, but it was definitely intimidating. They do a good job there. But I can't recommend it. read more

Hip guys and cool kids go here & we do too. Jake's neat atmosphere takes my Mom down memory lane and he does her layered cut and blowout as perfectly as the fades & line ups that most of his customers want. The best place to stop & get beautiful before going to lunch on Washington St. Jake is great with modern or traditional & with everyone from toddlers to old ladies. He can gossip, talk sports & charm with the best of them! read more

Not for the faint of heart! Crass and tough, but the best cut I ever had! Thanks Rocky! you are the MAN! Now I won't go anywhere else!

Im new in Haverhill, no idea where to get a cut. Got a fade and a line up done here after finding jakes on yelp. Cool guys workin there, small but unique interior decorating. Cut was good, not the best ive ever had, only reason i didnt give 5 stars. Theres a ton of barber shops on washington ST im gonna figure out whos the best. Overall good cut and I recommend Jakes. read more

Jake is the man. This is my new spot. Cool atmosphere, and I always get the VIP treatment. Awesome place!!!

My boyfriend and I went to get his hair cut in February, and it was disgusting here. There was hair all over the place, it looked as if they hadn't swept for weeks. The guy completely butchered my boyfriend's hair, he had to have someone else fix it. It was cluttered and dirty inside, definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality haircut. read more

Called the shop, and some guy ans. asked what time they closed, and do they do "walk in's". he said they do, and close at 5. I got there at 4:30 and the MF place was closed. A friend of mine sometimes goes there, but when I told him about my experience, he promised me he will no longer go there. There are way to many good barbers in the area. read more

Highly recommend this shop. Great people and friendly atmosphere. I went in not knowing exactly what I was going to do but my barber was very nice and helped me figure it out. I did something completely different then my usual and it looks great and I love it. read more

Took my son there a while back - first cut at a barber vs. a hair salon. I have to say I was very happy with the cut- the barber took his time to be sure it was perfect- it was a completely different look for my son and I could not have chosen it better. Now I take both of my boys there and I am even thinking about bringing my daughter there since she wants some kind of funky razor stuff for the back of her hair. The guys in there are very friendly and entertaining also. read more

He has been cutting hair since '95 and left a line on my undercut. Not impressed
