We have been coming here since my son was 12months. We drive here from Charlestown because he still hates getting his hair cut and cries and thrashes on my lap the entire time. The staff here is very patient and does a great job in the 5 stressful minutes they have. They are very understanding and kind and Christine is amazing. The only think I don't really love about this place is it never really feels very clean. In fact, it borders on dirty. There is hair everywhere and looks like it's in need of a serious deep clean and refresh. Oh my God I have been bringing my grandson there since his first haircut usually I've always had Christine but she's was out so today I took him and he hasn't cried in a few years. Well today he did nothing but scream and cry and he's seven and I feel horrible because he's on the spectrum and I thought like he was just crying for no reason and I even raised my voice at him which I never ever ever do. I told him enough stop. I feel absolutely horrible when we left and got in the car. He told me it was quiet because she was holding his head and putting pressure on his head and it was really hurting and I'm honestly shocked because this is definitely my goal to place. I don't know. My son had his haircut here and it's horrible. Tv is more like a black screen decor, so no cartoons for the kid. The stylist was in a bad mood and rude. My kid is not scared of haircut so he stayed very calm, but she still pushed really hard on his head. No wonder the kid before my son's appt was screaming and crying. At the end, when we ask for a shampoo after the haircut. The stylist said since we came in too late, there's no time for shampoo. We walked in at 5:30pm, she finish the haircut in ten minutes, store closed at 6pm as listed. I don't understand why there's no time for a simple shampoo. Also she can could totally mention this before we even started. The haircut is a nightmare too. I don't even know where to start, just look at the pictures. I have been taking my two boys here for the last year. This is the second time his head looks like patches. Please ask for either the owner or Christine. The lady with the bun on top of her head isn't good at buzzing. I asked for a 2 blade and she talked me into a 1.25 because she knew she messed up his hair and didn't want to tell me, I tried giving her a second chance. Cute little salon with plenty of parking. My child was a super basic and easy hair cut. I did witness one child who was highly erratic and moving all over the place. The stylish never lost her composure and was so mild mannered with the child. Seems like a great place for kids who may have haircut jitters or sensory processing disorders. PLEASE make it a requirement that your staff wear masks. I was honestly surprised that a place that offers services exclusively to children does not have a strict mask mandate for its employees and customers. Children under 12 do not have the luxury of getting a vaccine and we need to protect them. Schools are requiring masks for teachers, children and staff for a reason. Fast service. My 4 year old legit BEGS to go see Omyra and get his hair cut. It entertainment experience. He loves that he gets to pick one of 3 car chairs to sit in while he gets his hair cut all the while watching a show he has picked on Netflix on the Tv at his chosen station. She does a fantastic hair cut on my wiggly little one. It really is very impressive. She is so patient and friendly with my little one. We have never been disappointed coming here for our son's haircut. We made poor decisions going to other places in the past. Lesson learned, will never go anywhere else....even despite the 20 minute drive. We came here exactly a year ago for our son's first haircut and had a pleasant experience. Due to timing conflicts and the drive, my husband and I tested out closer places and had terrible experiences (snip its, super cuts). They were all a disappointment, either because of wait times, lack of experience of the hair stylists (and patience), or just overall bad hair cut. It always felt like an awkward experience, as if we were inconveniencing the stylist for the challenging haircut session. (We even apologized in advance and forewarned them.) Our 2.5 year old son is a challenge to get a haircut for. He has his meltdowns, and will not cooperate in the chair. He's usually well behaved, but gets scared at the noise of hairclippers. Coming here this morning, the hair stylist was kind and welcoming. We got him to sit in the police car chair, and get him settled in. No wait time. Although my son started to get restless, realizing that we were here for his haircut, the hair stylist was patient and made it enjoyable for him. She was engaging and had him see the clippers. She was fast working with his hair and did a great job with his hairlines. He didn't have a full blown meltdown...kicking and screaming....and managed to be done before getting anywhere near that point. I love this place. She really understood what type of cut I wanted and my wife and I are very pleased. She is definitely great with kids and the shop is filled with toys, video monitors and cool car barber seats. The ladies who work here are amazing! Not only are they patient and great with children, but my son always leaves with an amazing haircut! They have 3 chairs for kids to sit on their own and one for those kiddos not ready to leave mom or dad's lap. My son (19 months) had his first haircut today at Kids Kool Cuts & it was a great experience. They had a nice area full of toys for us to wait in until it was our turn. I know things are different with Covid and I appreciate the cleanliness of the area but the haircut was not great. I took my 2 year old son to just get cleaned up. The women who cut his hair seemed annoyed that I didn't know what blade to use on him as he has only had his hair cut but family previously. She spent probably a total of 3 minutes on my sons hair and it shows. His hair is completely uneven and looks awful. Definitely won't be going back, and can't wait for my sons hair to grow back so I can bring him somewhere to get it fixed. read more

Took my 26 month old son for his first haircut this week. I was very nervous. The salon was very clean and I was very comfortable with their social distancing and sanitizing procedures. Myself, the stylist, and my son were the only people in the salon. Omayra was reassuring to me and sweet with my son. She quickly got to work and was calm and efficient. She gave him a great cut, out of his eyes but not too short just like I asked and was done in less than 15 minutes. He's still talking about the fire engine chair he got to sit in. RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. Too expensive to be that cocky and rude. The woman at the desk was incredibly obnoxious both times I was there. She didn't even have the courtesy to say hi, welcome or anything like that. She didn't say goodbye have a nice day either. I don't know if the receptionist is the owner or just a miserable employee. She barked to sign in and then hid behind the Computer the entire time. This latest time she just gave us a look as if we were disturbing her. We waited a few minutes and the stylist came out. She went right to the desk and have a conversation with the receptionist. And then she got on her cell phone and began a conversation with someone while our three year old was getting antsy. The stylist butchered my sons head to the point where we're going to have to give him a buzz cut. His bangs were so bad, a three year old could've done better. When my son got out of the chair I and looked at him and suddenly the stylist was gone. I know she could hear me asking why his head was so butchered and it needed to be fixed. Not only did she not return, I believe she walked out the back door. The woman at the desk did not care. I then requested a certificate of haircut. Again this woman looked at us like we were going to steal her left arm. And did you know they charge three dollars for a piece of paper. where they just enter your child's name and today's date. The two of them was so incredibly rude, and the receptionist pretty much laughed at us when we said the haircut was terrible and why charge three dollars for a piece of paper. I really wanted to smack the smirk off her face. Do you not ever go here. Their haircut is $20. And if your child can sit that long, you're better off going to great cuts for $14. I wish I could say even worse things and I wish that I could give less than a one star. read more

Took our 2yo in for a cut today and it was a terrible experience! Typically he does very well with his haircuts. There was an older woman working who was extremely forceful and rough with the buzzers to the point where within seconds he was screaming and wanted it done. Numerous times I had to ask her to be a little more gentle! She left about 6 little cuts all around his hairline, took out big chunks in sections on the back of his head from the buzzers and the top section where she used scissors is completely uneven in just about every area!
