This places oozes character. Metal music. Pitchers of beer. And looking around, I saw such a mix of food coming out of the kitchen ranging from fajitas to pie. While I didn't eat here, everything looked great. They must have some crazy things going on here between carding everyone at the door and only taking cash while we were there. But it took me back to my college days in all the best ways.
Sneaky Dee's is a solid spot for cheap drinks and huge nachos. We went for the King's Crown, and honestly, I don't think the pic does it justice, it's massive! We ended up with a huge pile that could probably feed like 2.5 people as a meal on its own. Check out the pic I snapped next to my pint of beer for size reference. Upstairs there's live music with rotating events. Just an affordable dive bar with Tex Mex menu at the corner of Bathurst and College. Chill vibe when we went around dinner time ~7pm on the weekend.
Great place that's very unique. Went on a Monday where the menu is all 50%. Great bang for your buck. We got the king nachos for about $15 after discount. It was huge and filled up two people. They have cheap pitchers. I believe each pitcher was about $12 which is a great place to drink. Would come back!
The sneakiest thing about this place is the all Mexican menu despite seemingly no connection to Mexico? Dee-licious though!
In all our years in and out of Toronto and I don't think we have ever been to Sneaky Dee's. Unless we were here a long time ago and don't remember. It's the kind of place that should be memorable but with enough beers it is totally possible that we just can't recall. Regardless, we stopped in on Tuesday night just to say we had been here. And we were happily surprised. Not surprised that it is a shining example of dive bar esthetics, because it it the real deal on that account. The surprise were how pleasant the place is (comfortable in its well worn punk rock and roll patina), and the Tuesday deal prices were amazing. I can't remember the last time I got a pint of beer for $5. We didn't eat but everyone else was enjoying heaping plates of half-price fajitas (the other Tuesday night special). We are definitely coming back for some of those as soon as we can. Also they have half-price nachos on Monday nights, so another reason to drop in again soon. Staff were great - chill welcoming vibes all round. Happy to report that Sneaky Dee's is the prefect version of itself.
Grabbed a holiday dinner with some friends. The seats are kind of hard (bordering on hostile architecture but that's just because we're old) but the ambiance is great if you don't mind shouting and the food is great. Waitstaff are friendly. An icon of Toronto.
If you visit here, come hungry; they have huge portions with fast and friendly service. My boyfriend and I shared the king's crown nachos; it was well seasoned and tasty. There was plenty of all the toppings. If you like spicy, add their special hot sauce to bites with salsa on it; it really enhances the flavor. Their homemade sauce has a sour vinegary flavor similar to Tabasco. This is a pretty casual pub-like establishment. My boyfriend is a big Scott Pilgrim fan, and this establishment was featured. It was a great stop on our tour of filming locations. All-in-all, it was a good time!
Sneaky Dee's -- Poor service, less than satisfactory food, missing advertised specials, and closed when supposedly open. A friend of mine knows the owner of Sneaky Dee's in Toronto, Canada, so he talked me into going. Sneaky Dee's is a family run restaurant located about 1.5 miles/2.41 km West of the main downtown of Toronto. It is like a diner, but the entire place is purposefully decorated by graffiti. If my friend had not been with me the first time I went to the restaurant, I would have turned around and ran out the door. The first time we went to Sneaky Dee's, although supposedly open at 11 am, there was a note on the door, "Opens at 4 pm." So, we had to find another restaurant. The second time we went, it was open, and my friend chatted to the owner; we had their breakfast special, but no artificial sweetener for coffee, no jam or peanut butter for toast, and the breakfast was at best mediocre. The third time we went at about noon, Again, there was a note on the door, "Opens at 4 pm." so again, we went to another restaurant. After the third time, I really had enough with this greasy spoon, but today, my friend begged me to give Sneaky Dee's another chance. He said that they advertised a lunch special menu 11 am to 4 pm with a number of great $8 sandwiches -- grilled cheese, BLT, Chicken Breast, Philly Steak, etc., all served with coleslaw and choice of potatoes. He was hoping for the Philly Steak sandwich. Well, we go to the restaurant about 2:45 pm. We were given menus, but there was no lunch special menu. He asked the server about the lunch special menu, especially about the Philly Steak and $8 lunch menu. She said it was not available and told us to look at the menu and she walked away. He was really disappointed, but I suggested we try the bacon and eggs breakfast. When the server returned, we ordered the breakfast and coffee. She brought us coffee, but no cream or sugar. After we got her attention, she brought us a total of two creamers and three packets of sugar. Again, no sweetener. The breakfast was served. The fruit consisted of a quarter of an orange wedge and two blueberries. My friend got a tablespoon full of potatoes and his sunny side up eggs were over done. My poached eggs were okay, but half my potatoes were as cold as refrigeration, and the other half was lukewarm. We were given no jam. The server never smiled and seemed irritated when we asked her for anything. When we asked for jam, she brought us each one miniscule packet of jam. She never offered us more coffee, so we had to catch her attention again. She brought us coffee and no cream or sugar. Again, she had to be called back and again appeared unhappy with us. She never refilled our water glasses and never asked us if our food was satisfactory. We called her for the bill. When she came, she threw the bill on the table and placed the POS terminal on the bill, so we could not see the bill. My friend told her he wanted to pay by cash. She took the money from his hand without saying a word. She came back with the change and put it on the table without a word to either of us. I convinced my friend to leave no tip. He was upset by the whole experience and told me he was going to contact his friend the owner about what happened. There are many family run restaurants and diners in Toronto that are far superior to Sneaky Dee's I told my friend that Sneaky Dee's was one of the worst restaurants in Toronto for service and food. I stated that I would never come back to this restaurant, and I would write a Yelp Review that would recommend no one else eat at Sneaky Dee's either.
Favourite place for nachos! They have big portions and are pretty generous with the toppings, so it's good for sharing. I recommend both the DFA nachos and the Northern Blues. Monday is half off all menu items, and Wednesday is half price on nachos. Service here can be kind of slow, and they usually have pretty loud music playing so it might be hard to hear people talk, but it's a vibe.
Even with all the exotic cultural delicious food at your fingertips, sometimes all you want after a long week is a cold beer and cheesy nachos. Sneaky Dee's is basically a Toronto institution and delivers on both in a great dive bar atmosphere. We had $4 beers and shared a plate of simple nachos (chips, cheese and salsa) to recover from a particularly brutal week. You can admire the decor and read the endless graffiti messages scrawled on every available flat surface as you gulp beer and munch. They have some very fancy nacho options but the portions are generous. One order can be easily split between three people for a snack or two as a meal. We were barely able to finish ours even though we arrived hungry. Well worth it! Very friendly staff also!
The food was excellent and the service was great. Ambiance was expectedly rough but fun. You want a good dive? Head straight to Sneaky Dee's.

With all its recent press, it reminded me it's been ages since I've been to Sneaky Dee's so I had supper there last evening. I spent a lot of time there in the late 80s/early 90s. I ordered wings with medium sauce and they were okay. Cash only, though ... no credit or debit. read more
went here with old co workers while out and they wanted me to try the nachos lol. We had already been out all day and night so at this point I was exhausted, but this place had a really good vibe. There was an upstairs part that apparently was more lively but we stayed down and had food and drinks. I got a frozen marg, it was pretty basic but good. This place has some really cool bathrooms though with graffiti all over the walls. I liked that touch. Will probably never be back here but if I come back to Toronto I will have to visit just because. lol read more

Omg I love this placeeeee. It's my go to place after work with my coworkers especially after one those tough days at work. Food is amazing! No complaints, my fav will always be the Northern Blue Nachos. Servers are quite friendly and nice, they make sure you are happy and satisfied with your order. Parking...well it's downtown Toronto (no further comments) I've lost count how many times I have been here. But I recommend coming here if you don't mind the lively crowd and noise :-) read more
Covered in graffiti and rock and roll this is the perfect spot for brunch. It's a huge room with lots of tables in the back, and a few spots up front near the windows. We started with a Bloody Mary and Bloody Caesar for comparison. Both were great, but the Caesar was extra. Our waiter recommended the ham eggs Benedict which was served with home fries and was so so so delicious. They make their own hollandaise sauce too. Even though my eggs were a little over cooked and didn't run, it was still unbelievably tasty. The home fries were cooked to perfection. Found my new fav Toronto brunch spot - can't wait to se a rock show sometime too! read more

Solid nachos and affordable prices! I came here on a Sunday night and it was more crowded than I thought it would be. The nachos were huge and comes with all the fixings. We got the veggie one and the waitress was nice enough to give us a bowl of guacamole. The only thing I wish i could change about the nachos is to leave the salsa on the side. Sneaky Dee's bakes the salsa with the nachos which is slightly odd and made for soggy chips. Def would come back here for the night scene next time! read more

Last night I made my 2nd visit to the venue and as with my 1st visit more than 2 years ago, I came after drinking (and eating) elsewhere, but this time I not only had more food - a very generous person in my group ordered nachos and shared them with the rest of us - but another very generous person in my group ordered a pitcher of sangria for everyone. We didn't arrive until around 11:15 pm by which time it was quite crowded and noisy inside (the latter of which was not helped by the loudness of the music), thereby resulting in slow service. The venue is quite spacious overall and I haven't made it up to their 2nd floor yet but it's not a particularly upscale place although being located right at the corner of College and Bathurst it is in a good location, close to many other restaurants and bars, etc. Due to the slow service we received and the noise level last night I was tempted to give only 4 stars in my review, but both the nachos and the sangria were delicious enough to convince me to give an extra star. Sneaky Dee's is definitely a place for younger people all around. read more

There's nothing like a pitcher of sangria on a summer day. Sneaky Dee's red sangria wasn't sickeningly sweet and they were generous with their alcoholic mixture. My friend and i also ordered their "King's Crown" nachos. The portion was large and there were lots of toppings to accompany the nachos right to the end. The service was ok. The waiter's recommendation of nachos was good. But he took away our food without asking if we were done. And also he thought we asked for white sangria when we asked for red. Hopefully he was under the influence of good sangria what with the experience we had with him lol. The decor of the restaurant was pretty cool and casual. Good for chillaxing without having to care about anything. Definitely go back for their food. read more
Ok, I admit I got lured in by pictures of their nachos but this was one of the best decisions I've made in a long time! Even in a completely sober state, I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of that huge heap of chips, beans, rice, salsa, sour cream, guac, etc. We ordered the Vegetarian Cactus in the Valley Nachos to share. That thing is huge - you can probably share it amongst a group of 4 people! I just wish it hadn't been so spicy, as the heat took away from the other flavors in the dish. Also, the broccoli and carrots taste pretty weird in nachos, I pulled mine all out. My favorite part about these nachos though was that guac is a right here, not a privilege - other places need to come here learn how to pile on the guac! Do I love their nachos? Yes. Would I come back here? I'm not sure. As a student, if you can handle the vibe of a dive bar type place then sure. As a working professional, I'd only come back here if I was really looking to get smashed, or craving nachos. read more
Not much to say. A classic joint which dates back to my friends parents coming here in their 20s. It has a fun and authentic vibe with writings all over their walls and tables. The service is friendly and fast. The food is satisfying and delicious. Averagely priced for the downtown area. They also have great deals on drinks. Our Kings Crown nachos were delicious and huge. I just wish that the toppings were evenly spread because the bottom chips didn't get as much love as the ones near the top. We got the special of the day: pulled pork sliders for $10. 3 very delicious sliders and comes with a side of fries. The washrooms are a MESS. Attend to your bizzness at a different washroom before you come here. Other than that, I enjoyed my experience. read more

This place was good! We just got in town and I dumped my passport in the hotel room but thank goodness I had my ID in my purse (I travel very light when walking in a foreign place) they ID everyone before entry! The staff was very helpful, entertaining, nice. They have kind of a punk rock theme inside. The music was very loud but I'm guessing this was more of a nightclub than a restaurant. They had vegan and vegetarian options but I'm cheating with meat this week while on vacation. The drinks were delicious and food was amazing! The hubby had a huge nacho plate and I had fish tacos. They give you a TON of food so go when you are hungry. The prices are good. We would definitely return. read more
