We have been using Snappy Paws for almost two months and couldn't be happier with the service. Our 5 mo old puppy can be a handful and I was nervous about leaving her home alone all day. I found Snappy Paws on Yelp when looking for a neighborhood dog walking service after we started fostering a dog. This is our first dog and he is a boisterious energy filled boy!. We encountered a few behavior issues with him early on and Carla was able to give us great advice on the problems we were encoutering and what to do to overcome them. Carla came round to meet our dog Ted on a weekend in her own time and we discussed the services. She has been so helpful over the last month and we feel very secure in knowing that our dog is being looked after. UPDATE - 3/29/11 After 6 weeks, we made the sad decision to return Ted to the shelter as his biting issues were getting worse and we had been bitten every day for 5 weeks, we ultimately werent the right match however hard we tried. Our dog walker Iwona leaves us the most wonderful notes on how their day went and it is so reassuring to know she cares for him as much as we do. I emailed 4 different dog walking services for my rescue Pekingese, Matilda. Snappy Paws is the ONLY one to actually call me back, rather than brush me off with a short generic email. The owner, who's name escapes me at the moment, was funny and knowledgable. I also work in the dog bid-nasty and am VERY picky about who gets the job of caring for my smushers. They win. Working in the evening made finding a walker for Bowser an extra challenge, but Carla has gone out of her way to work out a schedule that helps him make it through the night without us. I've been using Snappy Paws' walking service for 6 months now and could not be happier! The owner Carla, admin Kristin, and my walker Scott are all great at what they do. I like that they are a small business and not run by an app; it feels much more personal. Their business model seems to be well-thought-out and fair. For example, they do not provide texted "pupdates" and instead the walker leaves a hand-written, personalized note after every walk. I like this aspect; I want my walker to be focused on walking my dogs instead of worrying about taking pictures and things like that. I also appreciate that they don't disclose their employees' personal phone numbers. All scheduling correspondence is handled via text or email through Carla or Kristin. I'm sure this helps them keep a tight leash on things (lol) and maintain a smooth operating schedule. Carla and Kristin are extremely responsive, professional, and cheerful. Scott is extremely detail oriented and I can tell he's truly looking after my pups' well being when he stops by. One time I had left an empty chocolate wrapper out, and immediately got a text from Kristin to let me know, in case the pups had eaten it. Another time, they had apparently gotten into some garbage and Scott was nice enough to clean it up on top of his usual walk duties. He always leaves a nice note with small anecdotes about their walk, and I truly never worry about my dogs when I know Scott is scheduled to walk them that day. Snappy Paws is great. I don't know what we would've done without Carla and her company. Our dog Simon, aka "the King of Chaos" is a happy dog because of the care he has received from Carla and Snappy Paws. He was just a puppy when Carla came to our rescue, and offered us two visits per day, since Simon was so little and couldn't make it very long without a potty break. Now he's down to one walk a day, and while I think he could probably make it through the day without a walk, we will never give up Snappy Paws because I know he loves having that break. Our walker always leaves us notes about Simon's walks (hey- even though it's gross, I gotta know whether or not he pooped!), and always with a sense of humor. The owner, Carla, is amazing. So pleasant and accommodating with scheduling. Doesn't make mistakes with billing or service dates. She is also a great resource and gives good training advice. Reasonable pricing and reliable. Services my area on Montrose and Cicero, which is hard to come by. Met my dog once and remembered him, when we randomly ran into her in the neighborhood one day. The company doesn't use the web or aps to manage payments, scheduling or walk history --it's all email communication or written notes about the visit--which concerned me at first but doesn't seem to be an issue. Would be nice for convenience but I don't know if they are a big enough company yet for that technology. I have "hidden" cameras in my house never seen a problem with any of dog walkers on her staff. read more

Before my dog's first walk Carla came to see where I lived and meet myself and my dog. She even arranged for the walker to swing by at the same time so I could meet her. Since we got Lizzy when she was 8 weeks old, I loved that they offered 10 minute potty breaks to help Lizzy get through the day while we were at work instead of paying for the full 25 minute walk. Once Lizzy was ready to transition to walks, they were able to accommodate our ever changing schedule on a very consistent basis. Carla (the owner) is so personable and really worked around my schedule to get my dogs on a midday walk program right away. My walker, Kathy, is a wonderful soul, with lots of great dog experience.
