I was charged $166 for a full synthetic oil change, and the attendant proceeded to inform me that I also required a cabin air filter and an air filter, each priced at $35. I politely declined these additional services, stating that I could obtain a comparable filter at a significantly lower cost from Amazon and perform the installation myself. I asked the attendant at the front desk - "oil changes have gotten expensive, haven't they?" He then replied - "yeah and so is the labor. Gotta keep my guys happy." Despite these issues, they offered me a $10 discount coupon, which was insufficient to eliminate the state tax. Snappy Lube admitted they were wrong when I got in touch with them and showed them proof. However, they were argumentative & did not want to refund the cost of my having to get the problem corrected. went to Snappy Lube in Knightdale for a state inspection. They failed my inspection saying window tint on my driver and passenger front windows were to dark and failed inspection. I said i never installed any tint on windows what i had was already there when I purchased from dealership and it has been inspected 3 previous years with no issues. these clowns are crooks or very poorly trained at their jobs. guy was even implying that i probably took it to shady people before so i could pass inspection. told him I didn't install tint, it is not that dark and i took it to reputable place before no issues with tint. payed the 33$ for failing inspection and took it to Pete Smith auto and passed with flying colors. everyone needs to get second opinion when it comes to these idiot make believe mechanics. will never ever go to another snappy lube. read more

The info on the Sticker they put in my window from last service was Incorrect and I actually was not due for a oil change for another 2000+ miles, however, they changed the oil anyway. I have taken my car here for at least 3 oil changes and it is always over priced. Even after their military discount (5%). This shop does the classic "oh hey we changed your oil but do you want us to do these other services that total over $200??" I will gladly drive the extra 10 minutes to a Take 5 for a normal oil change. Even with my car requiring full synthetic it's still maybe $60 at Take 5. It's at least $110 at Snappy Lube. Either Take 5 is loosing money on oil changes or Snappy Lube is making 200% profit. If you are car illiterate or like your money in your wallet do not go here. read more

They may know how to do an inspection, but don't fall for those wipers they may sat you have to purchase to pass. They are supposed to come with warranty. If you complain they are not working they will blame it on your car wiper. Your best bet is to go to Target and get some Rainx wipers that will actually work and save you a ton of money. My name is Colonel James I am a 30 year veteran in the Marine Corps . I went to Snappy on June 30 . To get a state inspection. While waiting for my vehicle to be service. I noticed about four other customers younger was told they needed wiper blades or they would fail the inspection. I went to the technician or he was a manager and told him I live twenty minutes away from this knightdale location and I checked my blades before I left home. I was warning them not to pull the mess on me about my wiper blades and being a former automotive mechanic and worked for these types of services. The technician i seen up on my truck cleaning the windshield did the inspection. And came and came to my saying I needed new wiper blades to pass inspection I stated again there was nothing wrong with my blades. I put them on Six Months ago. But the blades were Cut on both end about 2 inches each . There will an argument with the technician and he was very rude . The Manager didn't open his mouth or say a word. But a couple other technicians got between us. I know they CUT my blades to increase products sale . They are told and trained to do this to Customers. This SCAM the Management at SNAPPY got Technicians doing isn't NEW . SNAPPY is Cheating their Customers. Then they told me to pay for the Inspection knowing they CUT my blades. I went in for an inspection, and got out of there with just an inspection. While I was there, I witnessed some shaaady business. This dude was getting an inspection and I guess his "check engine" light was on, because I overheard the attendant recommend new distributor cables and spark plugs that they would replace for the price of $200.00. $200.00?!? $200.00?!? The cables and plugs for that guy's car cost AT MOST $50.00 at the auto-parts store across the street from Snappy Lube. Replacing cable and plugs takes as much labor as replacing 4 light bulbs. So, here's what I suggest IF you have to go here. Get an oil-change, get an inspection. REFUSE any upselling whatsoever. If your check-engine light is on DO NOT PAY THEM TO DIAGNOSE IT. Auto-parts stores will do it FOR FREE. If they say something is wrong with your car, go to the auto-parts store and ask them to run a diagnostic on your car, ask them if they think you can repair it yourself, buy the parts, rent loaner tools (if you have to) look up youtube videos on how to replace things, and do it yourself. If you HAVE to, buy the parts yourself and take it to a mechanic and pay them to install it, BUT DO NOT HAVE THIS PLACE DO "WORK" ON YOUR CAR. The incident happened on March 30, 2022. I drove to the Snappy Lube #2 located on 1101 Autumn View Dr., Knightdale, NC 27545. I requested an inspection and exited my vehicle and headed toward the waiting room. I sat facing the door so I could observe my RX 400H LEXUS being worked on. One of the staff members indicated I needed a tail light and wiper blades. I asked him the price and stated it was okay to replace. I watched him open my trunk and rip the right panel with both hands and I exited the waiting room to ask him what he was doing. The manager came over immediately to say that he knew what he was doing. He explained they needed to enter in through the panel to fix the right tail light. I again went back to the waiting room. I watched him as he changed the light and closed the trunk. I paid $72.87 and drove away to inspect the panel. Of course, the trunk panel the staff member ripped with both hands is still not attached as it was before. I drove back to Snappy Lube, the manager immediately came over and I popped the trunk to show him the damage and that a portion was missing from the trunk. Two more staff members joined him and stated that my car was already like that. We went back and forth, the manager raises his voice and in return I raise mine. One of the staff members stated he was traumatized from his father yelling as a child and the manager grabbed the staff members arm and the two walk away. I replied I'm equally traumatized over my Lexus being damaged by Snappy Lube #2 and that they were all attempting to cover it up. The manager angrily yelled "Jesus Christ" as if that was going to frighten me. The three men seemed very confrontational and it was obvious they were all going to stick to their story. One of the staff members stated he saw the missing piece to my trunk on the ground in the shop area and the manager motioned for him to go get it. At this point, I videotaped the manager replacing the part. Obviously, I was telling the truth after all. A week later, I spoke to the manager today at approximately 2:42pm and his response to me was, "I was instructed not to speak to you by the regional director Chris since you filed a claim with Better Business Bureau. It is obvious to me, that the company Snappy Lube #2 located at 1101 Autumn View Dr., Knightdale and the regional director wishes that I would just go away. I am certainly not going to go quietly until my Lexus trunk cover is properly replaced and repaired. To date, Snappy Lube #2 Knightdale NC and the region director has ignored my claim to repair my Lexus suv. I even attached the cost of the trunk panel part and labor from the Johnson Lexus dealership and sent a copy to Snappy Lube#2. I received another call from the company suggesting I bring my suv back to Snappy Lube #2 to see what they could do. I have already seen firsthand what Snappy Lube #2 can do, and that is ruin my Lexus trunk cover. Obviously, it is not only wise but I would prefer the dealership repair my Lexus and Snappy Lube #2 should absorb the cost of the damage of $294.37. I went to have my car inspected today and was surprised to see that there was no precautionary measures being taken by any of the employees for Covid-19. No masks or gloves worn, no covering for inside your car ( steering wheel, gear shift knob, seat, floor), total absence of social distancing. There was even a place set up with dozens of toys where children can play. I didn't like the idea of them possibly contaminating the interior of my car. I have been wearing a mask whenever I go out in public as a courtesy to others. They should at the least wear a mask as a courtesy to their customers. Other than that, good service. read more

Great place to get in and out in 15 minutes for a state inspection. I had a very small slit on my driver's side wiper blader, I had seen weeks before. Of course, they state that it would be illegal to pass me with a split wiper end, eventhough it functioned perfectly. I bought a set of wipers for $13, it was a bogo offer. Go in there knowing exactly what you want, direct the technician to do just that and only that and you should be fine. They didn't get five stars because their part prices are a little above normal that you would find at an auto part store, retail shop, etc. What do you expect, it's all about convenience. read more

I come here because there is usually not a wait and it is close to my house. What I don't like us they are in the expensive side for oil changes and every single time they do the whole "you should replace this and that" and it makes me feel like they are just trying to get a larger sale out of me. Here's a tip - stay away!! Took our pick up truck in for an oil change. They didn't tighten a part and it fell out before we got home (less than 5 miles). Decided to give them another chance. Brought our SUV in for oil change. It had been running fine before that. As soon as we left, the check engine light came on. They told us it needed a $250 repair. Lastly, needed an inspection on our 3rd vehicle. Figured they couldn't screw up an inspection but had made up my mind if anything went wrong, I was done for good. Got there, they said they'd do the inspection but their printer was down so I could come back next week for the paperwork - if I really needed it!! Really?! Pretty sure you ARE REQUIRED to have that! They even honored my slightly out-of-date coupon. Also very quick and they tend to go the extra mile in assessing your car and offering good advice. The worst experience! I went there a month or two ago. I got an oil changed. Everything seem good. When I was leaving and got on the highway my oil light came on right away. Then I see smoke. Im like whats going on so I pulled over and see that it was oil everywhere. I took it back. They said at first it wasn't nothing wrong and then I showed them under the hood and they was like oh ok we will take care of it. I had already made my mind up that I wasnt coming back. They told me if I had any problems to come back or call. Then after that a few weeks later my oil pressure comes on randomly. I have called twice and stop by there once. I was told to come back when the manger was there. I don't stay close by. I wish I never took my car there! It was fine until then and now they not doing anything to fix the problem it seem. Went to Snappy Lube as usual like every year for an inspection. During inspection employee told me that one of my wiper blades needed to be changed. He asked if i wanted to change the other blade so that they would be on the same life cycle. I told him no, while dialing my husband to verify that the blades haven't been replaced already. While on the phone with my husband i asked the employee if the wipers are different he stated that it wouldn't be the same brand but never said it would look completely different from the one I have. Anyway it looks cheap not to mention the wipers are completely different from each other. I just wish he would have informed me of the big difference. Not to mention that i have a tire pressure light on in my truck that they caused and can't fix. Now i have to go to Cadillac dealership to get the light off. Talked with manager and he stated he couldn't refund me for the wiper even if i went to the advance store to get the one that match. I will never go there again. Waste of time and unprofessional! I made two trips for a state inspection and both times this place wasted my time. I stopped by once and my vehicle didn't pass. I get it, I'll fix the problem, no charge. I make the stop again, this time a different problem, one that could have been easily pointed out on the first visit. I then got charged (full price) for an inspection,that didn't pass (unlike on the 1st visit $0). Of course, it was explained (crudely), how the 1st visit was somehow different than the 2nd, for a state inspection. So,I guess I'll make the time for a 3rd, where something else can get identified,on that version, of a state inspection. Of course I was upset, because this should have been identified on the first visit. I won't go into the dialogue, but the manager, who identified himself as the owner, was very unprofessional. They wasted my time and money, not likely to go back again. I'll take the loss for the cost of the failed inspection. In my opinion, losing a customer was not important to this establishment,going by the owner/manager's attitude. My experience here was a disaster. I brought my Land Rover truck there for the first time just to get a simple oil change. When I got home, I discovered oil linking in my drive way. I took it back the next day and they said the oil screw to the pan wasn't on properly due to the screw thread from my oil pan being damaged. No one mentioned the damaged screw thread to me when I got it changed initially. One day later, oil all over the driveway. They had to tap it to fix it correctly and they did offer me a free oil change (NOT!!) or come out to get up the oil out of my driveway. That's why its important to pay attention to detail. No matter what happens, it seems they're policy is not to reimburse the customer a discount after the money is taken. Very poor customer service policy! .. All the the trouble I went through with this, I still ended up paying $70 for my oil change which is what I normally pay somewhere else but not with all the trouble that came with this experience.
