Went all out and removed the degraded lithium grease from the volume control knob and applied Molykote instead (butter smooth now). The preamp is literally like brand new again, although it is close to 30 years old. Even looks brand new. The price of repair and slight refurbish was reasonable and well worth it. He was honest enough to say it was way too much Sticky liquid spilt inside my receiver. He's quick to tell you what is junk and what he will / will not work on. + Price. I thought his rates were fair. He worked to save me money and pricing was up front. + Delivery. My repair was ready before 3 week estimate. + Free Parking. (If you can find it) + Nice Showroom. SMALL -but they only seem to have high quality merch. Rare finds. It's pretty cool just to come and look. CONS: (NONE REALLY! You may consider these as negatives? Or not?) - Expect 3 weeks for all repairs -so don't procrastinate! - Parking. ONE SOUR NOTE: I first made several calls to the business in attempts to speak with them before packing up my speakers and driving out there (regular answering machine gave normal business hours -no indication of being closed for winter break). Likewise their website said nothing of being closed. The day I arrived, a handwritten note on the door said that they would be closed until Fri Jan 4. So I kept my speakers in my truck for over a week until that day & they STILL were closed! Perhaps they meant closed "Through" Fri. Jan 4. Anyway, 3rd trip out there finally worked. I'm not mad at them for taking time off & the service was so good I guess I wont take a star away. Hopefully next time they will update their website, voicemail, etc. I DO RECOMMEND! Autozone tested it and said it was bad and needed replacement. I took the car to the store on Stage Rd, the Manager tested it and during the test, the test unit said "Unstable Battery". After completion of the test THIER test unit said "Replace Battery". The manager stated that they could not accept that result to replace the battery and I would need to leave the battery in the store and tested by a different unit and I'd have to leave the battery with her for 24-48 hrs. If you get a battery from any dealership or auto parts store and their test unit says the battery they will replace it on the spot. I had that experience previously with Autozone. How many people can leave a battery with a store and be without their only vehicle for that period of time? They never mentioned that fact when I bought the battery. It seems to me to just be a way to decrease the number of batteries they replace. Last time I do business with that company.

PayPal allowed him to send the phone back and its COMPLETELY trashed, gouges and scrapes all over it and the phone no longer comes on. Even after I was able to provide proof that the phone was not received in the condition that I sent it, PayPal still refunded his money. So I am out $400+ and have a phone that I can't even resell.
