The people there are so professional and excellent customer service. They listen to what you tell them and get right on it. I drop my MacBook off to be updated and it only took an day before they call me to pick it up. Fast service and very knowledgeable too. So I usually don't give business 5 stars unless I get the best service imaginable. I will day this store definitely reminds me of apple store which is a good start. The customer service which me. Ivory who greeted me and helped with getting my iPhone looked at was very prompt. I will say having a apple warranty is definitely worth it no matter if it's limited or full coverage. I'm glad I have that warranty in all words. I will say don't look at the drive to this place which it Apple gives them the go ahead to fix their stuff it means that trust them to do what is necessary. I had went to 3 places to get my iPhone 6plus fixed. I woke up to it for some reason being disabled. I knew my Apple ID and password, but didn't have another Apple product to use iTunes to get it from (Disabled Mode). The first 3 places wanted to much money or tried to get me to purchase iPhone 10 or 11. Upon going down Hackscross Rd, I happen to spot Tate Computer System and turned around and went there. Upon arriving, I had my mask on and hand sanitizer in hand, I was buzzed in, Greeted with a smile and experience great Customer Service. I felt very comfortable because the place was very very clean, hand sanitizers everywhere and only 2 people were inside at a time. I set in my truck because wait time was 45 minutes for me as I was a walk in and it was a emergency due to my phone was my lifeline I'm Insulin Dependent. In 45 minutes the Wonderful Customer Service Lady brought my phone to my truck with a Smile and I used a Clorox wipe to retrieve it. She said No Charge, I was a first timer and Management Approval. God is Awesome and I will return for all iPhone and Computer needs and You Readers need to also. I give them 5 stars. read more

I recently had problems with my iphone. It was scrolling and lighting up on its own. Could not text. I do not own a home phone so needed to have it repaired promptly. I took it to AT & T and they could not repair it but told me that Tate Computer System was an authorized dealer. It was 4:30 in the afternoon. I got to Tate's by 5:00. I was met with Very professional service from behind the counter while following strict COVID guidelines. Very pleasant young woman went above and beyond to pair my watch with an old phone so I could use both while my phone was being repaired. The technician came from the back and took a look at my phone. He said he could fix it on the spot if I didn't mind waiting a bit. He fixed it in about 10 minutes thus saving me the cost of a new phone. They work not only on phones, but computers as well. Would most definitely use them again! read more

Customer beware! -- Tate sold me expensive equipment their employee told me was compatible w/ my laptop (which was present at the time of purchase). I get home & realize they've given me equipment for a different laptop model (incompatible w/ my own). I visited the store attempting to return or exchange the equipment on many occasions & upon each visit was met w/ a different excuse for why they would not accept the return or exchange -- "Our card reader is down. Come back tomorrow", "We never carried the equipment you're asking for & do not accept returns" (current MacBook Pro compatible charger, etc.), "Our records show that you paid with a different card. We cannot process your return." (I did pay w/ that card & had receipt to prove it), "Only a manager can process returns or exchanges. The manager just left for the day & will be back next week but we're not sure which day." Etc. This went on for weeks.... Tate Computer Systems has redefined for me the concept of giving someone "the runaround". I never succeeded in getting a refund or exchange & am out $300 & a lot of time, energy, patience--& dignity! I recently took my MAC Book pro to Tate computer systems for repair. It was too old for APPLE to repair it and they suggested Ate. The mouse pad on my 10 year old MAC was not working. First off they were extremely polite. They asked for the usual diagnostic fee which would be used for the repair. I left and in the 10 minute drive to me home they had diagnosed the problems and contacted me for permission to order the part. Four days later my computer was ready. I am new to this area, and did not know where to take my laptop when it needed servicing. A friend of mine recommended Tate on Hacks Cross. The tech guy was courteous and professional, but he was not honest about his knowledge base of PCs. When I went back some days later to retrieve my PC, another tech checked me out while the tech who was assigned my PC helped another customer. Of course the tech guy checking me out couldn't tell me anything because he didn't work on my PC, but most importantly, he only serviced MACs, iPhones and iPads. When the tech who did service my PC was asked what was wrong with it, he gave generic information. He told me there was a virus, but couldn't tell me which one. Then started rambling about clicking on pop ups and how to avoid opening them - when I insisted on knowing what virus he removed. He went on to itemize what he did do, but didn't tell me why. "I moved your pictures, and music, and documents into a folder...etc." "You had a lot of pictures." "I had to reinstall Windows." The thing that just irritated me the most is that my PC did not seem ready. Windows took about five minutes or more to load. The tech guy helping me struck up conversations about multiple things. That's just how long it took. When it did finally load, there were updates that needed to be installed. He gives another generic reasoning behind that with "computers are always updating." Yeah, I know. By this time, I was ready to go and annoyed beyond belief. But not as annoyed as I was when I got home, and turned my PC on. Again, it took forever for Windows to load. When it finally did, everything went at a snails pace. Web pages loaded slowly, if at all. Typing was a nightmare as the letters seem to take 5 seconds to appear after being selected. I couldn't add my printer. Additionally, trying to do so gave me error messages with a sad face. THAT IS NEVER GOOD. I called Tate and spoke to the tech who did the work. Again, excuses. "You didn't shut windows down when you were in the store. You just closed the top down." I had to laugh because I knew that WAS NOT the issue. Closing the top puts it in sleep mode. NOTHING MORE. After all was said and done, he offered to look at it again to resolve the issue, but I was not having it. He clearly didn't know what he was doing and I told him so. I am able to type this review because my school offers FREE tech support to students. I dropped my PC off to IT on Monday. They kept me updated the entire time they were working on it. It was finished by early Wednesday morning. They did a phenomenal job, and I was even able to add my printer with no issues. The problem? Windows was corrupted. Wait, but the tech at Tate REINSTALLED Windows, right? I feel that I am due a total refund, but informing people that not everyone is familiar with certain machines will do. He should have admitted, like the other tech, that he was not familiar with my brand of PC. I would have thanked him for his time, and kept searching. read more

Tate has a Tech named Eric who is fabulous & I trust him completely. Unfortunately, his boss is a total jerk! Eric had done a bunch of work for me for a couple of years & I was about to buy a new Mac laptop from him. At the beginning of COVID, I was having issues with my work email & went to Eric for help. Tate was across the room & in front of about 5 other customers, for no reason, YELLED AT ME that software issues weren't a priority & they didn't have time to work on my laptop! Eric looked SO shocked! I just turned & walked out. Once in my car I burst into tears, Tate embarrassed me SO BADLY! He didn't even know that Eric had recently reloaded everything on my Mac after upgrading me to a solid state hard drive so Eric probably could have fixed my email pronto! I WILL NOT GO BACK - EVER! I hope Eric goes somewhere else or opens his own place. Tate? He is a mean man & I wouldn't give him another dime! I spend money where a customer & his/her business is appreciated! read more

My computer crashed after I had been negligent about backing data. What a nightmare! Apple was supposed to send a tool needed to retrieve the data, but they didn't have the correct one for my computer. None-the-less, the man at Tate retrieved every bit of my lost data. In order to do this, he had to change a password. By the time stamp on the computer, I could tell he was working late in the night to make sure I had my computer back in a timely manner.
