Snapdragon Auckland.
Being our end of month event at work. we had a drink or two around 5pm at work and by 6pm we were at Snapdragon, Auckland.
We arrived on your premises and had a good time for the first hour. We had a budget around $1000 to spend over 1-2 hours and enjoy our end of month event.
Within the first hour, there was an employee named Reny (I believe) at Snapdragon who personally walked in and grabbed me out of the male bathroom as I was washing my hands. He told me to get the "F*** out!"
I was very surprised and stunned of this reaction. He looked like a staff of Snapdragon so I followed his orders... Very quickly he shoved me across the bar and told me to "GET OUT" as I was too drunk.
Funny that, (as I'd only bought 1 pint of Mac Gold and was a quarter down my 2nd one)... I tried to reason with him and asked what the issue was. He told me I was too 'wasted' and yelled 'GET the F*** out of the bar".... I was shocked!
Urgently, I explained to him I'd only had 1 and half beers at Snapdragon and I was not the person he was pursuing or the right person to accuse. He completely ignored what I'd said & continued to physically push me out of the bar & down the stairs.
I told him NOT to physically touch me and he kept on commanding me to MOVE... as I was I trying to explain myself. I followed his request with respect and walked downstairs.
Ultimately I said "stop pushing me!" and he kept on forcing me down the stairs physically! I told him I had 1 drink and I'd left my other drink and my friends upstairs, but he was insisting that I walked out of the bar.
I asked 'WHY?' and he would not explain. By the time I was outside of the bar he did not explain anything, instead yelled! "I told you to leave, Just go home!" This "Reny" yelled at me with terrible aggression!
I said 'who do you think you are?!? and he claimed that he was the manager of the establishment.
I walked outside and decided to stay put for a while and texted my colleagues what was happening. After about half an hour I walked back to Snapdragon and asked for the manager..
Funny enough this "Reny" person arrived and said to "GET OUT!" again. At the same time he pulled me out of the seat (that I was waiting at) and told me "I told you you LEAVE this place!!!"
All I wanted was a chance to explain and that he was wrong and that he was mislead on the information he had. He would not listen.
I asked him to "WAIT!" and he kept on physically pushing me back towards the door! I told him that if he touched me again that I'd call the police for assault!
He continued to physically abuse and push me outside as I was walking... I told him "NO!" and walked outside on my own accord.
By the time I was outside, I asked for the owner's details (of snapdragon) and explained that this is not fair! This "Reny" ignored me completely and walked inside.
I waited outside for over an hour outside the bar. I'm an Asian man of 26 of age, and I feel deeply discriminated against with no reasoning behind the issue. There was absolutely NO issue or problem from what I'd supposably done. All I was there for was to enjoy the company of my colleagues and have a good after-work conversation.
I did not break anything, damage or abuse any equipment at Snapdragon...nor did I fight or abuse anyone (I didn't even spill my drink...). I was there to enjoy a drink or two with my fellow colleagues and this "Reny" character physically abused me and grabbed me out of the establishment without any reasoning. This is absolute B*LLSH*T!
I STRONGLY believe this was completely unfair (without any justification). It's either racial and/or physical abuse and this Reny who claimed to be the manager of the bar is not fit to be a manager within this business. He has no idea or experience on how to manage customers and issues. Someone who physically handles their customers (our group spent over $1200 that evening) and treats them like rubbish... this is not ON!!!
I plan to report to this 'Travel Advisor', 'Yelp', 'Zomato', Facebook and Twitter. Also I'll be reporting this to 'Fair Go' on national TV and explain this incident as this is 'NOT ON' on the diverse cultural society we live in. Especially in Auckland!
I expect an explanation & a sincere apology from this "Reny" person who is employed by you. He is NOT to treat other customer with this verbal & physical abuse!!!
I'd like to hear your thoughts and feedback as I strongly feel abused and strongly discriminated against on this issue...
I look forward to Snapdragon's reply before I pursue this with the New Zealand's National Disputes Tribunal Court.
