My husband and I thought she was very professional and experienced since she was considered one of the listed vendors at our venue. I never made such an impulsive purchase, but I immediately asked for the contract and sent her the deposit that afternoon. One thing I liked about Jackie was the fact that I was able to text her anytime and any day if I had a question or needed something. Not only was she responsive, she would ask around if she didn't have the answer. The month before our big day, we had our meeting to go over details and timeline. She made sure to reach out to every single one of our vendors so everyone was on the same page. The week of the wedding was hectic for us, but she was made sure her timeline matched our photographer and everything was in place. I also had chargers that I wanted for every guest, and she made that happen! On our big day, she arrived to the venue at 2:30pm, so she could make sure all the vendors were there. When we arrived around 4pm, she made sure the bridal party knew what to do for the ceremony since we didn't have rehearsal the day before. She checked in with us throughout the night and gave us a heads up before the next agenda. She orchestrated the entire night so effortlessly that I felt at ease. If I could give Jackie more than 5 stars, I would! She was the best impromptu decision I've made throughout our entire wedding process. I'm so glad she was part of our wedding and cannot thank her enough!!!

The evening started with us being made to wait 15-20 minutes, despite there being multiple empty tables. We were then seated at what appeared to be the farthest and most isolated corner of the restaurant. I specifically asked the manager, Kevin, if we could be seated somewhere else. His response was that the other tables were reserved for "regulars." Apparently, being a paying customer on a birthday isn't quite enough to qualify for a decent table. What made it worse was that many of those tables appeared to remain empty throughout our visit. When we asked again, Kevin didn't even bother coming over to speak with us. He simply sent someone else. That was a great way to start a birthday dinner. Then there is the restaurant's claim that it has a "business formal" dress code. That was probably the funniest part of the evening. I watched a man walk in wearing torn jeans and a hoodie. I also saw another guest wearing a hoodie. So apparently "business formal" means whatever the restaurant decides it means when someone walks through the door. But the seating and dress code would have been easy to overlook if the food had been worth it. It wasn't. I have been fortunate enough to eat at some of the best Italian and French restaurants around the world. This was easily one of the most disappointing dining experiences I have had. The restaurant has all the appearance of a place that expects to be taken very seriously. Unfortunately, the food did absolutely nothing to justify it. We decided to skip the appetizers and order only entrées. Looking back, thank goodness we didn't order more. My wife's entrée was so excessively salty that it was practically inedible. We had to send it back. The restaurant then brought out complimentary arancini as an apology. I couldn't even get through the first bite. We were then given something else that appeared to be some kind of cornbread. At that point, the entire dinner had become almost absurd. A restaurant charging the kind of prices associated with an upscale dining experience should not be serving an entrée that is excessively salty and then following it up with terrible aranchini. For a place that seems to put so much importance on its image, the actual experience was remarkably far from what you would expect. If you want to spend your money waiting to be seated, being treated as though you're less important because you're not a "regular," sitting in the corner, watching the restaurant selectively enforce its own dress code, and sending back food because it is either excessively salty or undercooked, then by all means, come here. Otherwise, save your money and go somewhere that actually cares about the food and the people paying for it. We came here to celebrate my wife's birthday. Instead, we spent the evening wondering why we chose this restaurant in the first place. Never again.

There were only two customers inside when I left so it definitely wasn't an oversight because they were too busy but I still gave a large tip. I didn't so much mind never being checked on, but being completely forgotten at the end did not feel great. I also appreciate when businesses don't rush you, but there is definitely a difference between the two. As for the food, I sampled several items. The lamb shoulder pappardelle had a very nice flavor on its own. Unfortunately, the huge chunks of lamb felt very out of place. I fed most of them to my pup, who quite enjoyed the lamb. The poached apricot toast was probably my favorite dish. Apricot slices over truffled goat cheese with a red wine reduction and a pistachio and basil relish. It was sharp and flavorful and I enjoyed every bite. I also sampled the Araceli sliders and truffled garlic fries. The sliders were just okay for me. They were a little dry and I think some sort of condiment or sauce would have made a big difference. I also removed the pepperoncini because they were rubbery and the wrong texture for sliders. The fries were fine, but be prepared to have serious garlic broth for a while. I liked the cafe and will probably come back again. The outdoor space here definitely has a lot of potential, but I would most likely bring something to wipe down my seat first with me. I would also hope for some more attentive service, but in general the servers I interacted with were both very nice. Hopefully my next experience here will be even better and I can update my review.

The smooth buttercream frosting had just the right amount of sweetness, perfectly balancing the rich chocolate swirls and fresh, fruity strawberry layers. So many of our guests raved about it, and our bridesmaid (the true dessert connoisseur of the group) polished off all the leftover slices by the next day! On top of the incredible flavor and craftsmanship, Bev's passion and personal story for baking are so inspiring, and the value for what she creates is unbeatable.
